Hello Everyone,
Or should I say Good Evening, I didn`t think I`d have enough time left for an entry tonight. This morning I couldn`t access AOL again for the same reason as yesterday. Despite changing my password my other had been used to send more obscene material so I`ve deleted it along with Jim`s alternative screenname too. Hopefully this will be an end to it but it is very annoying and a bit disturbing that these things can happen at all.
I spent the morning catching up with my ironing from our holiday. Usually I don`t like the job but today was different as I have a brand new iron. While we were away, Jim noticed in the Daily Mail that the iron we had has been recalled by the manufacturer because of a defect so we duly returned it when we got home. It hasn`t been a very good iron as it didn`t seem to get as hot as I`d like, but I thought as it was relativily cheap it was one of those things. Now I have a new one that gets really hot and the ironing is done in half the time, maybe I`ll enjoy the task.....erm, well maybe not ENJOY...lol!
I thought you might like to see what I found in the corner of my spare room today......
She, and it must be a she because of her size, is at least 3 inches across, much bigger than house spiders usually are. I took the photo while standing on the bed, then she dropped to the floor causing me to drop the camera on the bed in fright! Normally spiders don`t bother me at all, I`m the one who removes them from the bath because a certain hubby isn`t too keen on them. I read in the paper the other day abot spiders being really healthy and well fed this year because the hot weather produced lots of extra insects for them to dine on. Also nearly all our spiders here in the UK are harmless and only a few have a bite that can hurt. I know all that but I`d rather not share house space with them, thank you very much...lol!
This afternoon after walking Jake I planted out some of the winter pansies. Jim and I did very well at a different garden centre than we usually go to. It was recommended to us by a chap we know and when we saw the quality and the prices we were amazed. We`ve bought all the winter plants we need for £21. That includes all the pansies ( £6.50 for 50!) and two large pots of hardy chrysanthamums (2 for £9)and a few other bits and pieces. I`ll be going back soon to buy some spring bulbs, again they are very cheap. I will only go back to the other place for our coffee and sandwiches and any other plant I can`t get any cheaper elsewhere!
Right, I`ll say farewell now, I have 43 emails to read, most of them alerts so I`d better get to work. I hope you all have a lovely evening. Take care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

Sandra the size of that spider ~ I hope I never come across one that size ~ I have come to the conclusion I do not like spiders ~ would rather deal with a rat than a spider ~ glad you have a new iron and it makes that task easier ~ sounds like you got a good bargain at the garden centre with the plants you bought ~ Ally

That is a great picture of the spider. They do not bother me at all unless there is one in the bedroom at night. I have to get it out before I can sleep because I had one walk across my face one night many years ago. I wish the plants were as cheap around here. Glad you got aol. sorted

Good spider pic, they don't scare me but I try not to get to close!
Sorry about the hacking, change your password often & make sure you have great programs installed to help you.
Hope your day is going good, the new garden center sounds great! :)

What a spider! And it sounds like a BIG one too. Spiders don't generally bother me but one that large might. I need a new iron too, but just haven't gotten around to buying one. I try not iron unless I just have to. LOL
Barb

hope you have no more problems with AOL
Ooh, Ms Spider has given me shivers!!
I hope your AOL problems are sorted once and for all now Sandra, how annoying, and yes, worrying, that someone has been using your other screen name.
Back to the spider... you can see each and every hair on her legs... ooh!

That spider was a monster. The largest spider I have seen in my home was at most 2 inches across and is a hairy unthreatening looking one called a wolf spider I believe. They make a web with a round hole entrance and hide inside it. mark
We had a spider that size too last night in the lounge while we were watching telly last night. Had to keep stopping the tape to try to catch int most annoying but got there in the end. Your new garden centre sound great at these prices. Love Joan.
I've always loved spiders but you grow them over here to be mutant huge sizes! Thanks for sharing!
