King Grandad and the Little Man

Hello Everyone,

Oh Happy Day!!!

I have a job interview at last, not the usual,  your application has been unsuccessful lark, but a real interview, I am so happy at being given the chance to prove that I`m the right person for the job.  Thank you garden centre for at least giving me the chance.  Please think of me on Monday at 12 noon when they`ll put me through my paces.

This morning the sunshine has disappeared without trace.  It was pouring with rain, on and off all night and it has continued throughout the day.  Never mind, you never know it might be back again soon!  Jim and I went to town and met up with kerry and Roman for coffee in Marks and Spencer.  Roman was waddling around showing off to the regulars his new found skills.  A couple of really nice elderly ladies who have seen him since he was a scrap were both thrilled to see what a big boy he is now.  Of course, as with everyone else who say nice things about him, he treated them to one of his famous smiles.  He has decided that grandad is his favourite person and when he is around Kerry and myself count for nothing.  Oh yes, grandad is king at the moment...lol!  Mind you, as Kerry said, now that he is the most popular person, he can also change all the nappies.  `Oh no,` says King grandad, `THAT`s what you women do`...AAAAGGGGHHHHH!  Later I splashed out on a nice strappy top to go underneath a lilac and mauve Per Una cardigan that I have.  I can`t wait to be earning my own money again, shopping will be so much more fun...lol!

This afternoon, Kerry and I took Roman to Snakes and Ladders.  It`s a large warehouse where there are climbing frames, bouncy castles, ball pits, swing , slides etc. Roman loves it there and it`s good to see him bouncing around and generally having fun. He loved the ball-pit and didn`t want to come out, Kerry got him out anyway and took him to another activity, only for him to turn round and toddle back to the ball-pit and climb inside again!  It shows that he is making decisions for himself and he`d certainly decided where he wanted to play.  Later a little boy of about three pushed him over and then pinched his face quite hard, thankfully he didn`t cry and the boy`s mother apologised for his behaviour and told him off but Kerry, quite rightly, was upset though she let the matter rest.  Of course Roman forgot the incident and carried on playing happily until Kerry realised we had been there for over two hours and that we should be heading home.  I`ll bet Roman sleeps well tonight after all that activity.

When I got home I popped a beef casserole in the oven.  I`d prepared it and half cooked it before I went out so it would be ready in an hour.  Then I cooked up the remaining apples with some blackberries and made six Jim and Sandra-sized crumbles for the freezer.  That should keep us going for a while, now I think I`ll buy some rhubarb and make some pies or more crumble.  I must go now as I lost this entry earlier and had to start all over again.  I was half way though and I pressed something I shouldn`t and it vanished!  Anyway my friends, have a lovely, relaxing weekend.  I know I won`t , I never do...lol!  Bye for now. ;o)))

Glad to hear about your interview. "King Granddad"  that's cute. But won't change Roman.  LOL Snakes and Ladders sounds like quite a place.  Bless Roman's heart for being a little man when he was pushed by the other boy.  Let us know how your interview goes!
