Hello everyone,
Woohoo.......I`ve been to the dentist and I don`t need anything done! What a relief, Jim has to have a filling, never mind though, rather him than me...lol! I was sure I`d need some work done but he did his usual look around and said that they were fine and he`d just give them a clean up. Last week my tooth was hurting quite a bit, but he reckons it was most likely my sinuses as they are very close to the roots of the teeth. That`s it for another year, I never go for six monthly checks anymore.
It`s been really mild today and the sun was shining too, I wish it had been like this yesterday, it would have been perfect for the visit to the farm, still it couldn`t be helped. After the dentist Jim and I went looking around the DIY stores looking for prices for the new doors that we need for the upstairs hallway. We`ve found the doors we like and will collect them at the end of next week. We also checked prices for a new handrail for the stairs and for some wood laminate flooring for the downstairs hall. Things are moving quicker now and Jim says he can`t wait to get stuck in to some `real` work. He hates all the preparation as it takes so long. He also bought some paint for the ceiling and some varnish for the woodwork, this time it`s a nice beech colour as opposed to the dark mahogany that we had before. Tomorrow is Jim`s last day before he goes back to work so he`ll be busy all day. As for me I`ll keep out of his way, he doesn`t like being bothered when he`s working, and that suits me fine. Who am I to come between a man and his work ?....lol!
Roman was in a really happy mood when he came over this evening, he was very vocal and didn`t stop smiling all evening despite being tired as usual. Our friends Steve and Bernice came round to see us and they made quite a fuss of him. They are going are going to France tomorrow for a couple of days and Steve has offered to take some photos for my journal. Wasn`t that nice of him? The photos in the brochure look so pretty and it`ll make a change to post a friends photos.
Oh yes, I had a comment about the crime house, nothing new there I`m afraid, just that the cars that were seized by the police have not been returned so I assume that is the last they have seen of them. I suppose these cases take ages to come to trial so I`ll just have to keep scanning the local newspapers to find out anymore. I know that I`ve not seen either of the men who lived there since the incident so maybe they are being held on remand, either that or they are keeping a very low profile and who would blame them after all.?
I must go and read the rest of the journals. I always seem to be late doing everything just lately! Oh well, I usually get there in the end...lol! For now, have a lovely evening, take care and Bye Bye for now. Oh my goodness.......... Who is that chasing Scruffy the puppy???

Absinthe is another name for the herb wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) and the name of a licorice-anise flavored green liqueur that was created at the end of the 18th century, and manufactured by Henry-Louis Pernod. Called the 'green Muse' it became very popular in the 19th century, but was eventually banned in most countries beginning in 1908. The reason is the presence of the toxic oil 'thujone' in wormwood, which was one of the main ingredients of Absinthe. Absinthe seemed to cause brain lesions, convulsions, hallucinations and severe mental problems. Thujone was the culprit, along with the fact that Absinthe was manufactured with an alcohol content of 68% or 132 proof.

Well Jim is certainly going to be very busy but it will look great. I know what you mean about the preparation, that is the worst part and getting really stuck in in this best. Lovely graphic, I have snagged it lol. How nice to your friends to offer to take some photos for you. Yes, it was a nice day and it was great to be able to get the dogs into the garden so much even if it is very muddy but now they say we are in for heavy rain and strong winds. Oh well, back to newspaper on the floor lol. I am sure you see Roman change almost every day.

Glad you didn't need treatment at the dentist. I hate the preparation involved in decorating but if you cut corners on it it'll show up with the finished results. Sounds like Jim is going great guns with it all. We had sun today too, such a pity it was raining for you yesterday, never mind, there's always next week. I did an entry last night and it gave out no alert, not even a wireless alert! Must've been because I was sarcastic to AOL on my entry!!
