Hello everyone,
Welcome to a very pleasant Sunday afternoon. It`s been almost Spring-like today after a frosty start with some fog for a while. Once it had cleared the sun shone for the rest of the day so Jim and I took advantage of it and went for a long walk with Jake, we walked for over an hour and a half and very enjoyable it was too. I could hear a mistle thrush singing away in the trees but I couldn`t see it, I had taken the camera just in case too. I`ll bet that if I hadn`t taken it, the thrush would hop out right out giving me the perfect photo oppotunity...Oh well, Sod`s Law I suppose! I took the above photo of one of my winter pansies, it is quite big, I would say about four inches across. I thought it looked quite impressive so I snapped it for you to see.
The roast dinner yesterday came out really well, not a scrap was left uneaten, much to my satisfaction. Danny said it was great to eat a roast and to go home with a full stomach, bless him. That`s what Mum`s are for, can`t have my boys starving, can I? :o) Whilst here, Dan told us about a visit to a an Ice Bar. It`s in Picadilly, London and it`s made entirely of ice, the bars, the tables and even the glasses for the drinks that they serve. When you go in they issue you with hats and gloves as obviously it`s freezing cold in there. You can only stay in there for 45 mins and the staff change shifts very frequently also. Go and visit the site, scroll right down to the bottom of the page to see what it`s like inside. ICE BAR....click here
Last night Jim and I watched Tim Burton`s Sleepy Hollow starring the delectable Johnny Depp as Icabod Crane, it was both funny and scary at the same time and I spent a lot of the time with my face behind a cushion, the scaredy cat that I am...hehehe! Jim saw it ages ago but I hadn`t got round to it but I`m glad I watched as despite the cushion, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jim has finally finished stripping the woodwork in the hallway and landing. It`s looking really good too, considering all the woodwork is over fifty years old. Once it is revarnished in a light colour it will look smashing. He has said it is going to take a few months as there is so much work to do but that has never bothered me. I`d rather he took it slowly because he works long hours and he needs some time to himself. For instance, on Tuesday he`s going Pike fishing...and good luck to him too, the thought of sitting all day on a river bank in the middle of February somehow holds little appeal to me, can`t for the life of me think why.....brrrr!
I`m going now, so I hope you`ve all been enjoying your Sunday. Take care and Bye Bye for now.

That's a big pansy! I'm glad the stripping is coming along well. I went to Sleepy Hollow last October, it's a small village in New York State, a very pretty place but a bit eerie with all the legends connected to it!! Have a nice week. Jeannette xxxx
