The Magnolia tree at night
Hello everyone,
I`m late posting again, after a bit of a trying day as far as AOL is concerned. They very kindly let me go online but then after politely greeting me with the welcome message the screen didn`t show up. I was able to read emails and even reply to some but not all. Journals wouldn`t open including my own. After asking some of you if you`d had any problems, some had, some hadn`t, I then closed down for a while to feed Roman and get him ready for bed. Later I tried again and Eureka!, it all worked fine again. But then I had to cook dinner and put a sleepy Little Man to bed. When I had eaten dinner and cleared away I eventually got back here and am now tapping away at the keyboard. Right, that`s me up to date....lol!
It`s been a chilly day again though very sunny and blustery, a perfect drying day for my washing, which smells lovely after being blown about all day. It was Tesco`s day and I had a really have shop this week. There were lots of specials that really were worth having, ( I don`t usually bother unless they are really going to save me money) I seemed to be low on everything and the specials seemed to be the things that I happen to buy. My poor little car was stuffed full of shopping bags and I had to remove the parcel shelf to get it all in. Even though my Clio is small the boot space is quite big in proportion but now I have Roman`s buggy in the back I needed a bit of extra space. There were still loads of trollies all over the place, there will be an accident one day if there hasn`t been one already.
Kerry and Roman are much better today, though Roman sprang back much quicker than his Mum, he`s a very tough little boy and nothing seems to keep him down for long. His ecsema is widespread but it doesn`t seem to bother him at all despite having to be covered from head to toe in a greasy ointment twice a day. In fact, if anything he seems to like being massaged, also the ointment is making my hands really soft so it must be good stuff!
This morning I woke up with the skin around my knee feeling really sore and the muscle was really stiff. I have no idea why it`s like that but if it`s no better tomorrow I`m getting an appointment for the nurse. I can feel a lump just above my kneecap and it feels really uncomfortable, the skin is very hot and tender too, I must say I am just a little bit concerned. Jim has finished plastering the area where he lowered the stair wall. All he has to do now is rub it down and the wood block for the new surface can be fitted, bit by bit we, or should I say Jim is getting there...lol! I`m just looking forward to the finished result.
Does anyone ever watch a TV game show called Deal or No Deal? Jim watches it every day when he`s home and I`ve started watching occasionally, it`s all about luck and it`s very gripping, if you see the beginning, you have to see the end. I must admit that games shows have never held much appeal to me in the past but I really like this one. I`m off now to read all the journals I couldn`t read earlier. Enjoy your day/evening and take care. Bye Bye for now.
The New Diet
1. If no one sees you eat it, it has no calories.
2. If you drink a diet soda with candy, they cancel each other out.
3. When eating with someone else, calories don't count if you both eat the same amount.
4. Foods used for medicinal purposes have no calories. This includes any chocolate used for energy, Sara Lee cheesecake (eaten whole), and Haagen-Dazs ice cream.
5. Movie-related foods are much lower in calories simply because they are a part of the entertainment experience and not part of one's personal fuel. This includes (but is not limited to) Milk Duds, popcorn with butter, Junior Mints, Snickers, and Gummi Bears.
6. Cookie pieces contain no calories because the process of breakage causes calorie leakage.
7. If you eat the food off someone else's plate, it doesn't count.
8. If you eat standing up the calories all go to your feet and get walked off.
9. Food eaten at Christmas parties has 0 calories, courtesy of Santa.
10. STRESSED is just DESSERTS spelled backward

The magnolia tree looks as if it has some buds trying to put on new leaves or blooms. Glad Roman is feeling better. Great that you can now use AOL. I am wondering if you have bumped your knee and forgot about it. Hope it soon gets better. Take a picture for us when Jim gets finished with the stairwell. Helen
So many problems with AOL just now, couldn't comment on yours and others last night, and couldn't make an Entry on my own journal. Yesterday and today, it wouldn't let me listen to AOL Radio, as I often do, telling me I had to upgrade to Gold, which I already have.
I have watched Deal or no Deal, it is an unusual concept, and I don't usually view at that time of day. But as you say, once you start watching....
Just one more point Sandra, as you know I'm having treatment for pain, and the Physio said my Knee was warm! I would make an appointment!!
My mate loves deal or no deal!! Glad shopping went well :-) I'm also glad that roman and kerry are feelin' better.
Took ages to get this to open ,the magnolia tree is Magic !,I feel as you do about the game shows But ,yes Maurice too watches this and yes it is compulsive viewing.......... Jan xx
I watch it every day and i am totally hooked...I enter the viewer comp every day but so far no luck LOL...I don't use shopping bags anymore when going for a big shop and haven't for last 3 years...I bought some of those fold down crates...It's amazing how much you can get in one of them :o) So much easier to carry up the stairs to my flat and takes up much less space in the car...Hope your knee is okies soon...I cringe when anyone says they have problems with theirs as i've had lots of probs with mine since i battered mine loads as a kid Caff xxx

I'm glad Roman is bouncing back. I bet Jim will be pleased when he's finished the decorating and you too!! Jeannette.
AOL seems to be a law unto itself just now. My problem is with the File manager he is on a go slow. Your Magnolia tree looks ready to bust and am sure it will be super you will let us see it when it comes out. Love Joan
I have a lump on my knee, doc says it is arfur ritus, just wish he would find somewhere else to live but apparently he is now with me for the rest of my life.....as if one man was not bad enough!!! I have to joke about it cos that is really the only way I can cope as it is that painful, along with the abnormal bone growth cos my knee is not sitting where it is supposed to due to the years of 'trauma' it has suffered! What about the years of 'trauma' I have suffered, LOL! The magnolia in your pic (lovely by the way!) is a little more advanced than ours, no buds on ours yet but it was a late flowerer last year.....ours is a dwarf magnolia.
