Cars, Plums and Custard

Hello everyone,

It`s another Friday, well it`s almost the end of it now.  Jim`s downstairs watching TV or listening to the radio.  Roman`s fast asleep in his cot having gone to bed earlier than usual as he couldn`t keep his eyes open, poor love.

Jim went to the doctor this afternoon as his throat and jaw were feeling `strange`, he has been given strong antibiotics as his throat is very infected...it`s funny because he said it didn`t really hurt that much, never mind, it should clear up quickly now.  I feel as though I have something going on too,  my throat and sinuses hurt quite a bit and my stomach doesn`t feel quite right.  Oh well, what are a few germs between husband and wife?!

Anyway, that`s the health of the family seen to for one day, now then ...  This morning I drove into town early and was one of the first in the multi-storey car park.  The car park has a carwash company based there with the car washers, mainly students waiting in the cold for the first job of the day.  I would normally dismiss them with a wave so they didn`t have to cross the carpark just to go back again , and for one fleeting moment I was tempted to let one of them wash my  filthy car.  But the moment soon passed when I remembered just how much it cost. Nope,  they would have to wait for someone else, why pay when I can do it myself......when I get the time...lol!

Jim and I scoured the charity shops to see if they had a second-hand highchair  but for various reasons they won`t have them on the premises so we popped into Argos where we bought a booster chair for £12.99.  It`s really good as it fits onto a dining chair so it`s eay to stow away.  I took this photo so you can see.....................................

Roman sat in it this evening for his tea, he seemed to like it but that they be because he was eating plums and custard which he loves.  He always has a dessert at teatime while at lunchtime he has savoury.  It turns out that I get the easiest mealtime because Little Man has a very sweet tooth, like most little ones.

Scruffy isn`t with us tonight as he`s been naughty and he`s in his virtual kennel in disgrace.  It seems that he`s been digging up my garden, something that Jake is usually responsible for, but with Jake being an almost grown-up dog I`m sure he wouldn`t dream of digging in my garden...No, it had to be Scruffy the Puppy!

I didn`t take any chances whilst walking Jake today, I went out with my woolly hat pulled down to just above my eyes, my scarf wrapped round my mouth and Kerry`s gloves that she bought for the Antartic cruise..I was leaving nothing to chance, no frostbite for me...lol!  Slava told me last night last Russia is much warmer than it has been of late when it hit  -30 degrees, it`s now only -15 degrees... why, that`s almost bikini weather as my Dad used to say...lol!

I hope that all of you that are feeling unwell at moment, (and there seems to be some nasty bugs out there). I do hope you are feeling much better soon.  Have a lovely, restful weekend and take care.  Bye Bye for now.

The chair is great, why didn't they have them when our kids were young?! Fancy blaming Scruffy for digging up the garden!! You may have the same as I've got, My throat and sinuses were sore and infected and I had a nauseous feeling too. I hope you and Jim soon get better. Jeannette xxxx

I just love your graphic....I hope Jim's antibiotics work quickly - Isn't it nice when Husband and Wife can share their bugs...lol.....never been approached on any car park to have the car washed - how much do they charge ?  Like the chair you got for Roman much better than having a high chair they take up such a lot of room...Looks like you can store that one away easily..and at only £12.99 sounds a bargain. Poor little scruffy in the dog house already...."Free scruffy" - "Free Scruffy"......I'm sure he won't do it again....I've been lucky have escaped those bugs so far.....Ally

Hi, think I will snag your graphic at the top and send it to Stu the next time we argue.  You seem to be enjoying your babysitting which is great. Hope you are not coming down with anything bad. Love Joan.

After over 40 consecutive days above average just as if there was no winter at all it is down to 33 degrees F in S. Illinois (near St. Louis Missouri).   Hope Jim's sore throat is better after the anti-biotics.   Salty spent the day inside the house while I was gone for about 5 hours getting the lump cut out of my shoulder and was a perfect dog.  I had taken him for his walk so that he could poop before I left so he was all set.     mark
