Hello everyone,
Welcome to a wet and windy Sunday, it`s pretty chilly too...brrr! For those of us fools who have to brave the elements with our faithful hounds it is not a great day. Walking for just over half and hour made for a rather damp me and an extremely soggy Jake, who shook himself all over the kitchen and I spent ages clearing up the mess. I wish I could shake myself down the way a dog will...I did try once but only succeeded in hurting my neck in the process. I suppose having four legs and a long spine have something to do with it....plus the fact that they`re unable to use a towel....lol!
I spent the morning ironing as I usually do on a Sunday. The new ironing board certainly makes life easier with the extra width and I`m usually finished far sooner than before. The only drawback being that it`s almost as tall as me and quite heavy to carry around, thankfully I keep it in the boiler cupboard across the hallway from where I do the ironing, any further and I`d have to call on Jim to carry the thing. After my complaining about the rubbish collections or rather, the lack of them, we have now had two collections in just over a week, unbelievable. Of course nobody was aware of this yesterday and most of the rubbish hadn`t been left for them. Luckily I saw them coming down the road as I was about to go out yesterday.
I didn`t suffer any after affects of my experimental omelette yesterday, in fact I was pleasantly surprised with the result and plan to use the same ingredients another time. It was very filling but very healthy and I`m sure I`m beginning to lose weight already. In a fortnight when I weigh myself again I`ll let you know whether I`ve lost anything. At the moment I weigh 9st. 5lbs/131 lbs, and I need to lose 10lbs to feel comfortable again. I know I`m not really overweight but I`m heading that way so I have to reverse the trend and get me back to 8st. 9lbs. Though I will stress, it`s not a reducing diet as such. I`m just eating healthier meals and cutting out junk food and snacks.
Jim is still finding different features on the TV, it does so much more than the old one. Theonly problem is that we still have to use our Freeview set-top box because we have top-up TV. The card which fits in the old Freeview box can`t be used with the TV set. Oh well, not to worry, we have an excellent picture and the sound is fantastic. We already have a DVD theatre system so we now have the package in ho,e entertainment. Let`s just hope we don`t have don`t have anything else go wrong with anything electric, though my vaccuum cleaner has seen better days..fingers crossed it`ll make it through the next six months at least.
Well, that`s it from me for today. I hope the sun is shining where you are, have a lovely afternoon and take care. Bye Bye for now.

Can I have the recipe Sandra (for the omelette!) I now have a reason to go all out to lose weight, see my jouyrnal later on today, LOL!!!
It's wet and soggy here too, yuk!! I had to laugh at the wingless fly in Antartica, a fly is a fly cos it flies, if it's wingless fly surely it can't fly so it's not a fly!! I'm all mixed up now! You've just reminded me I must do some ironing for work tomorrow. Jeannette. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
Sorry your weather is bad there. We are having a beautiful day here today. The omelet sounds good. Wish I was as small as you LOL. I am in height but the girth is another thing LOL. Hope the rest of your day goes well. Helen
I wouldn't worry over much about TUTV it isn't likely to last for very long according to what I hear.
Hi Sandra - Jake enjoyed his walk - even if you didn't...I love to watch them shake and get rid of all the water from their coats..(Not in the kitchen though) lol
The ironing board you could count as weight lifting - good exercise when on a diet..
Glad you caught the rubbish collectors....I know if ours are just inside the drive they won't empty them...Loved weird Animals - strange but true...fascinating..have a lovely evening....Ally
Right now (10am) the sun is shining brilliantly...but the weather man is assuring us that won't last all day. I really overslept this morning, couldn't get to sleep last night, too late now to get to church by 10:30am. So will shower and go to the grocery store, etc quickly before the rain starts. My car didn't move yesterday, I was home all day. Have a good afternoon, Sandra....Linda
Sorry to hear about your dreay, rainy day...and it would be a hoot to see you "shake like Jake"...but unwise due to getting hurt like you said. Just yank the ole towel out! LOL
You have been busy...ironing...and jim with the TV...sounds like a winner of a tv...you have a very nice evening...many hugs,
Joyce

don't know what weather has been like here as i went back to bed after putting the boys to respite...I love garfield and have quite a few of the cartoon books, haven't watched the new film and don't think i'll bother as it doesn't appeal like the cartoon does...Laughing at image of you shaking yourself dry on kitchen floor <G> Caff xxx
First off, THANK GOD I AM NOT A FEMALE COD!!!!!!!!
I am glad the ironing board is working out. My dad irons every Sunday without fail, my entire life and still today. He cusses out the TV as he swings the iron around..he is always PO'd at the football games. My left leg weighs more than 131 lbs. Wow, you are thin, to me at least! Tomorrow i begin my diet. Pray for me, ok?
LOVE,lisa jo
I saw a nice wide ironing board in Tescos. . I really fancy one as mine is rather rickety and wobbly now.I dont mind ironing too much,as long as everything else is done I can do it. I cant do it if everywhere else is not tidy lol.Sandra ,you are very slim already. Its good to cut back after christmas though.
Congrats on the omelet coming out good..lol! I've been trying to lose some weight myself..but it's my vacation week, and i'm just lazing about, being a bum..so probably will not lose that much this week..lol!
Robyn :)
Sorry you have had those accidents. Still, they say things go in threes. What sort of experimetal omelette did you make? I am not back to full time commenting on everyone. Neighbours knocked with a card this morning that says how much they will miss Pip and that set us off again. I am writing his story though, in "his own words" as therapy for both of us and so that we can keep. It is helping me.

Hi Sandra,
You look fine, don't look like you need to lose any weight, but I am that way. I feel much more comfortable when I am around 10 pounds lighter that I should be. I need to cut back also now that the Holidays are over.
New ironing board...I will have to check through your journal and look for a picture of it. I HATE to iron and try to find only clothes that are IRON FREE. . . hehehehe
Love and Hugs,
Sharon
