MARBLES, TREES AND JOB HUNTING

Hello everyone,

Frequently, I have to say in answer the the above question.  The main problem with me is that I`m always thinking and never let my brain have a rest.  I know everyone thinks most of the time but I seem to have what I can only call `brain overdrive`.  That`s my excuse and I`m sticking to it, being absent-minded is nothing to do with it....lol!

It`s another cold, overcast day here, with the occasional lonely snowflake fluttering down.  Everything outside looks miserable and untidy, as if  Mother Nature has had a bad day and decided not to do any housework.  There is something very sad about a tree in winter, they look so miserable with their brown, leafless branches. I can`t wait for Spring, my favourite season of the year, so full of new life and hope for the future.  My goodness, this is starting to sound very wordy , isn`t it?  Moving swiftly on.......

I rang up about a job today but the hours aren`t suitable, I have to have mornings only as I`ll be looking after Roman when Kerry goes back to work at the end of the month.  I don`t want to let her down but if a job is too good to miss I`ll have to ask her to change her hours to suit mine.  I don`t want to do that but if it comes to it, she can change to earlies instead of lates.  Mind you, I have to find a job first, I have a couple of numbers to call on Monday and hopefully I`ll have something soon, fingers crossed!

Keery will be here with Roman at 5pm, she`s going out with a friend tonight and he`ll stay here until Slava collects him on his way home from work.  All I have to do is feed him and change him and put him to bed at 6.45pm, he`ll go straight to sleep and then I can have something to eat.  I`m doing really well with my new eating regime.  I`m not calling it a diet because all I`m doing is cutting out sweets, biscuits and anything between meals, apart from that nothing has changed apart from eating slightly smaller portions.  It has always worked in the past and the only reason I`ve gained weight is eating far too much ice-cream and sweet things over the last year.  Also I`ve not been working and my job was very physical and it kept me trim, it was more like a three hour workout every day and I didn`t have chance to gain weight!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend and that you find time to put your feet up. Take care all of you and goodbye for now.

Reasons to be single

Single:         You get the whole duvet to yourself.
Coupled:     You don't need a hot water bottle.

Single:         There's half as much ironing to do.
Coupled:     There's somebody else to do the ironing for you.

Coupled:     There's someone to talk to about the TV programme you're watching.

Single:         You can get home from work at whatever time you like.
Coupled:     There might just be a meal waiting for you when you get home.

Single:         You get to eat the whole ready meal for two yourself.
Coupled:     It takes just as long to cook for two as it does for one.

Single:         There are no important birthdays or anniversaries to accidentally forget.

Coupled:     You can afford to live somewhere within 20 miles of either of your workplaces.

Single:         You have no friends to go out with because they're all partnered and staying in.
Coupled:     You don't have to go out with the dull friends you had while you were single.

Coupled:     Somebody loves you despite what they see first thing in the morning.

Sandra, I also have an overactive brain....never stops working, and at times it causes me to wake up in the night trying to work out something stupid!!!! I agree with you that Spring is a beautiful season....full of hope; new flowers and pretty blossoms, then along comes a freak wind and blows the whole lot away, LOL!!!

Cold day here today too, brrr.  I think I have frostbite in my nose after walking back from school!  And to school, I don't know why I just said back from school, I didn't just magically appear there!  Have a nice time with Roman tonight Nanny, and good luck with the job hunting, you're bound to find something eventually :o)

Losing weight is easy if you follow the Hay plan (don't eat carbohydrates at the same meal as proteins) and ensure that at least half of your intake is raw vegetables and fruit.   Nuts and seeds also permitted and counted as proteins.  Black tea and coffee are best, no added sugar of course.   I began eating this way about three years ago for health reasons and over the course of nine months dropped two stone and went from a size 14 to a size 8 which is where I've stayed - that's a total loss of 6 inches in circumference!   The expensive part was having to buy new clothes from the bra outwards and frequently now I can't find serious clothes that are small enough.  Good luck and always remember that it really is achievable.

You are doing the same thing I did 16 years ago, watching your grandson and I did the same thing and tried to work mornings too...but I ended up quiting my job and watched grandkids full time..4 grandkids later.  I do hope you find just the right job.  Sounds like you are really a trememdous help to Kerry and Slava...and little Roman is growing to grow to love you and Jim even more!  Hugs and have a wonderful weekend!

I need to lose weight too and am reading the Gillian McKeith books in the hope that just by reading, the weight will fall off me. The comment re the Hay diet sounds interesting. My problem is I'm greedy and love sweet things. My weight piled on when I stopped smoking some years ago. Not going to start again though!

I can't wait for spring either, can't stand this cold much longer!! I want to lose weight this year but they say that winter is the worse time to try as it's cold and we tend to eat more. Hope Kerry has a good night out and Roman is good with you. Jeannette.  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels

I love how you write. I think i tell you that at least once a week. Yes, a tree looks lonely in winter. Ohio is COLD, no snow. Strange weather.
I hope you find a job that suits you and Kerry. I bet it was delightful to play with Roman. Is he teething yet?
I hope you have a wonderful and warm weekend!

I wish my job was more physical..too much sitting.  The job I had before this one, I was on the go all the time. I've gained weight at this sit down job and then I come home and sit at this computer writing journal entries and comments.  I think I'll throw all food items out and go to the store for each individual thing when I need it...would that help ?  But, then I'd be spending a small fortune on gas for the car.  It sounds like you've got more will power than me.  Hope the job situation works out for you, Sandra.
