A LOVELY DAY.....sigh!

Hello everyone,

I`m back again,  with more of my Scribbles to share with you.  Last night I was so fed up with AOL throwing me offline so many times, plus something was causing my computer to freeze as well and I had to force a shutdown at least 6 times.  I don`t know why because I always keep the PC `clean` and have recently done a defrag.  I have firewalls and up-to-date anti-virus, you name it, I have it and I do it...sometimes I think the flipping thing just doesn`like me...lol!  Anyway, by the time I did get back online I couldn`t really care less about anything and had lost enthusiasm I had for my journal.  So there you have it, my excuse for no entry.

Have any of you been reading Jeannette`s Jottings lately.  She is on the third episode of a beautiful story at the moment, if you haven`t already, do call in and have a look.  Do you like the photo I took of Kerry and Roman this afternoon?  I missed the best photo opportunity there has ever been with him to this day.  We were all sitting on the floor when Jake lifted his head, moved forward towards Roman and nudged him gently with his nose. Roman smiled at him and stroked his face.  If only I could have frozen that moment in time.  It was so beautiful and we were all touched to see that for the briefest of moments, they had made a connection.  It was the first time that Roman, despite Jake trying his hardest, had really taken any real notice of him, it was just amazing to see.

The weather though starting out wet, became really sunny this afternoon.  I took Jake for a long walk, taking in the country lanes.  It was almost as though Spring was in the air.  I could hear birds singing and noticed that shrubs and trees had buds on them already, it was the sort of day when you feel great to be alive and the world seems such a happy place to be, may we soon have more days like today.  I noticed this morning that crocuses have started to peep through the earth and the buds on the two Magnolias are looking really healthy for the time of year.  I always think spring flowers are the prettiest, especially when the Magnolias blossom. One of them is pink and is about thirty years old with star-shaped blooms, the other is a young tree that I planted last year, about two years old at a guess, is a rubra `Susan` and has saucer-sized blooms.  I can`t wait to see `Susan`s` flowers this year.

I`ve been feeling a bit down about my failure to get a job.  I`m going to try the local vet`s surgery to see if they need a part-time receptionist.  They are always looking for new people for whatever reason, so it can`t hurt to ask.  I know people who have worked there and it`s mainly the young nurses who move on to pastures new because they get fed up with doing reception work.  I`ll take Jake round on the pretence of getting him weighed and ask on the off chance.

Must go now as I have lots of emails to read and journal alerts to answer.  Have a lovely eveing and take care.

Hi Sandra,

First, love the photo of Kerry and Roman...they both look so cute...love the framing too.  I too, agree with you on Jeannette's journal concering her lovely Pip!  She has done such a wonderful job of getting people to see how wonderful Pip was to her and to those of us who knew him from her journal entries from past.  As for the job, good idea on the Vet...I like your method of checking it out too!  Have a wonderful evening too...many hugs,
Joyce

Wonderful picture Sandra.  I was touched to read about Roman and Jake because Pip did that with both Nathan and Daniel.  I guess he wanted to stay around long enough. Thanks for the mention, Pip now has his own journal and his story will continue on there, Helen gave me the idea and I thought it would be a fitting tribute.  Do not worry about the job, the right one will come alone when the time is right.

Think the Vet's job would suit you, if they are looking for someone!
No harm in asking, but don't get downhearted.

Kerry and Roman look great. I love magnolia blossom, there's a tree near me in a park that has great big saucer sized blooms, I'll have to try to get a photo of it when it blossoms. Good luck with asking at the vets. Jeannette xxxx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels

What a great picture.  I wish I could have seen the action between Jake and Roman.  You did such a good job describing it.  A moment that will always live in your memory.  Pennie

Hi Sandra, Have you tried your local hospitals staff bank?  Most health trusts have an 'A & C' bank (admin/clerical) and apart from the odd gap you are in work most of the time...it is worth enquiring.

It's hard not to feel downhearted when you're searching for work and not finding anything suitable.  Keep trying though m'dear, I hope you find something perfect for you soon.
