JOBS ADS AND BEARS FOUND ON FRIDAY!

 

Hello everyone,

It`s that day again, yes, it`s Friday and the weekend is here again and every is alright with the world!  Today has been a `plus` day  with only a couple of minuses thrown in for good measure. 

I went into town early this morning with Kerry and we browsed around for a couple of hours, difficult for me because I prefer to spend rather than browse, but with pockets that are nearly empty that wasn`t an option today and I could only buy the necessities (sob!).  We stopped for a coffee in Marks with a rather grumpy Roman who is now teething with a vengence.  To cheer him up, Kerry gave him one of the special baby biscuits that she`d bought earlier and he absolutely loved it. It was the first time that he`d eaten anything hand held and he had no problem at all, apart from covering himself, and Kerry with squashed biscuit...lol!  His skin has flred up on his face, just a week after clearing up completely.  Kerry is going to try bathing it in salt water to dry it up and if that doesn`t work it`s back to the doctor again.

When I got home at lunchtime it was to find a very upbeat Jim sitting at the table with the local paper open.  He`d found a job vacancy advertised,  and this time it is everything I`d hoped for.  I`ve already applied by email and this time I have really sold myself.  I don`t see the point in holding back and I told them exactly why I would be an asset to their company.  The vacancy is for a part-time receptionist for one of our local newspapers, with filing duties, dealing with the post and banking.  Well, I`m perfectly capable of doing that and also for meeting deadlines etc. after my years at Royal Mail, after working there I can work anywhere! I really need the experience of getting an interview at least, it says in the ad. that if I don`t hear from them within four weeks I haven`t been successful in my application.  I have a feeling about this one but I`m trying not to get my hopes up....who knows eh?  Watch this space........

I`m also happy to have lost 3lbs.  I`ve had to tighten the belt on my jeans so I was certain that I`d lost weight.  I`m just cutting down so I`ll lose the weight slower which is far better than a crash diet.  I`ll weigh myself again in a fortnight and hopefully I`ll have lost another 3lbs.  The weather here has turned quite cold after the mild days we`ve had recently, while Kerry and I were out walking Jake this afternoon, the wind became very strong and cold so we changed direction to get out of it, the forecast says that a very cold spell is on it`s way and due to hit us sometime next week.  Not TOO cold I hope.

Before I leave you I have found someone............Barney!!!  

I found him outside the house, so far from the home he shares with Joan, StrannyDayze.  How did he get here all the way from Kettering?  Well, I invited him in and he climbed inside my chest freezer.  I`ve told him he could stay an hour or two before he goes back to Joan who I know has been looking for him and feels responsible for him.  He left about an hour ago so he should be home with her soon...Oh yes, he ate the fish that was going into an Ocean Pie, I suppose I`ll have to open a tin of pilchards instead...lol!
