A CHILLY DAY

 

Hello everyone,

I hope you`re all having a good day wherever you are.  It`s absolutely freezing here and the forcast says it`s going to get colder.  Last night it was -6 celsius and it felt like it too.  I must admit though it was lovely to have the nice crisp start to the day, the air seems that much cleaner and the sun was shining, that always makes me feel better about life in general. 

I went to the hairdressers for my six weekly once over.  I had the roots done and a much needed cut and I`m very pleased with the result.  My hairdresser is worth her wait in gold and I wouldn`t let anyone else do my hair.  She always does my hair how I want it,  not how she wants it as I`ve found to my cost with some other stylists. When I got home I quickly had a toasted sandwich for lunch, watched ER that I`d taped last night, then went walkies with Kerry.  We walked through the country roads today as it was a fine day and Jake walked trotted along happily by my side.  That is, he did until we were almost home and we bumped into a lady with another dog.  I couldn`t believ my eyes when I saw the other dog, it was a female black lab, and apart from the colour she was almost indentical to our Hannah.  She was small, lean with a `smiley` expression, in fact in every aspect she was just like her.  I have to admit I was rather taken aback to say the least, though I didn`t mention it to Kerry who didn`t notice anything.  Strangely, I`ve not seen the lady or the dog before, I hope I meet them again and I can have another look.

I took these two photos this afternoon when we got back from our walk.  Roman had thrown the above toy on the floor more times than I care to remember.  According to some baby books they are not supposed to do that at 6 months.  Someone should tell Roman that, he enjoys throwing things on the floor for you to pick up again.  Jake was directly under the table sleeping but how he managed that with toys being dropped on his head I`ll never know! 

I`m just looking out of the window and the sky has turned a deep red, we`ll have another hard frost again tonight.  That`ll mean scraping the ice of the car first thing in the morning again, I think I`ll cover the windscreen tonight to make it easier for my scraping arm.  On Thursday it is Jim`s two sisters birthdays, they were born four years apart but on January 26th, so we are taking them bouquets of flowers.  Thursday is also shopping day for me so I hope it doesn`t snow, I hate driving if the roads are too bad.
