Hello everyone,
Welcome to Wednesday`s Scribbles. You would think now that Christmas is behind us that life would have slowed down somewhat, well it hasn`t. In fact, I`ve found myself with loads of things that need doing NOW as opposed to next week or next month. I have heaps of washing that I`ve been doing all day, the tumble dryer hasn`t stopped and thought of the amount of ironing I have to do is the stuff of nightmares.
This morning though, it was the usual walk with Jake, which takes place regardless of whatever else is happening, I mean, how do you tell a dog that you`re too busy/it`s too cold to go out today?!! You don`t so it`s on with the heavy winter coat, the thermal socks, walking boots, scarf and gloves and a woolly hat an optional extra which I declined today. But I digress, today`s walk was certainly bracing with a bitter easterly wind that made my nose look like it belonged to Rudolph. The ground was frozen solid and where there had been a light dusting of snow that too had frozen over, making walking slightly unnerving to say the least . At one point Jake saw a cat and lunged forward taking me with him doing a bad impression of Jayne Torville...lol!
This afternoon I had a long chat on the phone with a very good friend of mine before Kerry decided to visit on her way back from buying Roman a highchair, which he will need very soon. Kerry and Slava were very lucky when Roman was born because they were given lots of Mothercare vouchers which are paying for the bigger things he needs, the highchair being just one. They also bought him a baby sleeping bag that I remember Jeannette mentioning to me. Roman doesn`t know how to stay still at night and he always kicks the covers off. The sleeping bag is worn over the top of his pyjamas and has the warmth of two blankets. Now Kerry doesn`t need to worry about him being cold at night.
I`m going to read some journals now, I haven`t been reading as many as I should just lately and I want to catch up. I hope you all have a lovely day/evening. Take care my friends.

LOL on the laundry. Thats what I am doing today also. I did do some Monday too but here it is again. Helen
Well, I did my washing yesterday, it is amazing how quickly the pile builds up. I can imagine you skating along like Jane Torville just glad you did not fall. Thanks for you know what (I do not mean the present). I am so glad that Kerry got the sleeping bag, Becky would not be without them, both boys are in them, that way you know they cannot get cold. Yes, he will soon be in a high chair and later they can get him a booster chair so that he can sit up at the dining table. Handy they were given so many vouchers. Mothercare are good but can be very expensive and it is always nice when you are able to get something already paid for if you see what I mean. Big hugs to you my friend xxxxxxx

My.. what a brave little penguin. Yes Christmas is over and it's back to reality for all of us, I'm afraid. We call those sleeping bags "blanket sleepers" over here. Both of my kids wore those over their pj's in the winter especially when the were little. They wiggle around too much when they're little. Have a good afternoon, Linda in Washington state.
We had those dressing gowns that were like sleeping bags is romans similar to that??? Remember my older sis using one with my nephew who is now 25 LOL...No snow here but it is cold Caff xxx
Yes Im afraid things have to return to normal and lets face it we wouldnt really have it any other way,Lucky Kerry to still have some mothercare vouchers ,one small person does require a lot of stuff !!...........Jan xx
I take it Jake was Christopher Dean? Now I know where Barney and his pal went to!!! Not done an entry since Christmas day as we have been damn busy!! At present Rob is having fun with flat pack furniture so had to take the tree down to make room for him, plus I am trying to make head and tale of a recordable dvd, which has added to our spaghetti junction behind the t.v! Have fun in the snow with Jake!! love Joan
What a laugh your graphic is....................!!
Brilliant graphic!! I need to get fitter so I can run faster if that's going to be my New Year resolution. The sleeping bags give peace of mind to worried Mums...they certainly did to me when my children were babies. Hmm. could get one for my husband as his feet are always sticking out under the duvet...plus as he wrongly accuses me of hogging the duvet then his very own sleeping bag could be the answer. Do Mothercare do man size?
I'm doing my laundry today too... not bad because I have a cold and don't want to go out in the icy rain we are having today here in Wisconsin. I have small dogs so I can just let them out in the backyard because its fenced in and wait in the house for them to finish with whatever they want to do... today they were in a hurry to get back in though. hope you are having a nice evening, Sandra
The sleeping sacks will be perfect for Roman! I used them for Wyatt when he was little and they are wonderful. SOrry to hear it is so cold. 75 here today haha!
Kara
I read about the walk with Jake and I started to shiver. It is in the 70's during the day here in the land of eternal sunshine. I dont think I could take that kind of cold. I am too spoiled. Happy New Yearl, Pennie
Roman will need the sleeping bag in this cold weather. I have washing to do too but it'll have to wait. I'm working nights, trying to look after Andy, do his shopping etc. I shall need a long rest soon!! Take care, keep warm! Jeannette xxxx
Hi Sandra, those sleeping bags are a great idea, my daughter had them for her second little girl. I even made one for her when they went to Majorica in a very thin material. She said she'd wished she'd known about them when her first girl was a baby, as Rachel climbed out of her cot at a very young age and the sleeping bag would have made it more difficult for her to do..... Jean
I remember how grateful i was when i unwrapped an expensive baby item at a shower for my kids. Chad got most of Megans handmedowns. So what if he was a boy, he looked good in pink. Take care! LOVE, lisa jo
You should have a medal for bravery, venturing out with Jake today. Poked me nose out the door earlier and decided to stay in for the day. Tomorrow's supposed to be worse; roll on Saturday, when I'm getting myself and hubby out of this joint for a couple of hours. Take care.
Sylvia xx
