A FOGGY DAY

Another old photo that Jim took.

Hello everyone,

It`s a really, really foggy day today.  This morning the visibility was poor but tonight it is REALLY bad.  Kerry has just left here and she couldn`t believe how bad it is, luckily she only had to drive across the road to her flat but I would be worried if she had to travel any further.  As it is Jim is going on a `boys night out` tonight and his mate is driving, but the journey is sixteen miles and their destination is just outside London, so I know I`ll be worried about them with all the weekend traffic, and all the drivers who never slow down despite not being able to see where they`re going!  I`ve been driving around with my lights on all morning and I had a `near-miss` with a stupid woman who wasn`t looking where she was going.  She pulled straight in front of me causing me to brake hard and nearly hit her broadside, and the car behind tooting his hooter at me because he nearly ran into the back of me, which obviously would have been his fault not mine, but even so, that crazy woman didn`t even realise she had nearly caused an accident!

I suppose I`m going to have a nice quiet evening tonight on my own, I think I`ll quite enjoy it as I can watch what I like on TV, though I`m not sure there`s anything worth watching!  Tomorrow is the night Kerry and Slava go to the company dinner and Jim and me will be looking after Roman for the night.  I`m not anticipating any problems with him because he sleeps through the night and is well and truly set in his routine.  He goes to bed and 6.65pm and shouldn`t wake up until about 6-7am.  Then he has his breakfast anda nappy change and goes back to bed for an hour or so before waking and having his bath.  I`ll have all his things laid out in the evening so I have less to do in the morning.  Kerry says she is looking forward to a lie-in  but I`m sure she will be worrying how Roman is getting on!  I just hope they have a wonderful time at the dinner.  Slava`s boss is sending taxi cabs to collect his staff and their partners to take them to the posh restaurant he has booked, it all sounds wonderful.

Today I bought enough wildbird food to last well into the new year.  I`ve hung food in the magnolia tree as I usually do ,but I need a couple of new peanut holders as the ones I had last year had broken, I don`t know how the birds could have done that but then we may have had some big birds!  The bird table isn`t getting as many visitors this year as it usually does, but maybe we`ll see them later, I hope so as I love to watch them and to look out for different types that stop by to eat.

Slava doesn`t know yet what`s wrong with his car but he is calling the mechanic today to book an appointment to get it looked at, luckily he gets to drive the company van or he would have problems getting to work and back. I think I might be getting a cold finally, I say that because several times over the last few weeks I`ve felt off-colour and had the sniffles but it`s not come to anything.  Today my throat is sore and I don`t feel 100% in myself. I do hope if I`m going to get it that it comes and goes before Christmas, it would be just my luck to be ill on Christmas day and I don`t want THAT!

I think I`ll sign off now, I hope you`ve all had a good day and I wish you all a lovely relaxing weekend.  Bye for now.

`To you a season of melodious tidings.
In darkness may life be a lovely flame.
Now the year turns back to warmth and passion
As all our dying dreams are born again.`

I cannot stand fog...we get it often here.   I refuse to drive in it unless it is an emergency, that I must go out.  I am sure glad Kerry made it home safe and also you are okay too.  Drivers do not look here either.  My husband witnesses a woman driving right through a red light as traffic was coming right at her from the side...NUTS he said...
You are going to have so much fun watching Roman tomorrow night...he loves you and Jim so much...he will be fine and you will spoil him for sure!  Sounds like he is on a great schedule.  I do hope Slava can get his car repaired soon...maybe it is something simple.
You have a great evening...hugs!

Driving can be dangerous and people should have that foremost on their minds.   It is always a risk but so many wrecks could be avoided if people used some patience and caution.   Enjoyed the Robin in the snow.     mark
