Hello everyone,
It certainly is cold here today. We haven`t had the snow that was forecast snow so I thought I`d pretend and post the above graphic instead. I did the weekly shopping early this morning and I was in and out in a hour, despite bumping into an old friend and chatting for a while. I dressed up even warmer for dog walking this morning and was even more careful about slipping on the ice. It reminded me of times gone by, when I was at school. We used to make ice slides in the playground and then all the kids would queue up to take a turn at sliding across it. We had great times with them, that is until the school caretaker, Mr Whitcombe (the spoilsport!) would come along and throw gravel over it, telling us it was dangerous! At least we had some fun while it lasted, I doubt children these days would be allowed to even try to make a slide. It would be considered far too dangerous for the poor little things...and there would be the lawsuits to consider, something that we never had to be worried about back in the 60`s.
I have been looking to buy a new ironing board. Mine is too small and is about to collapse. I looked in Tesco this morning but the ones they have are the same size as the old one. I`ll pop into town early in the morning and get one from Wilkinsons, come home, walk Jake and then start on my enormous pile of ironing...sigh!
I had a sneaky peek at both `Crime Houses` today and they are both very quiet. No:1 house definitely someone living there but they are not members of the original family. How do I know that? Well, by my cunning powers of deduction I notice that although the house always looked very clean and tidy from the front, it now looks a mess, with detergent packets and cereal boxes left on the window ledge. The second house has had the car that was searched taken away, but there is no sign of life there at the moment. Nothing ecver seems to happen around here, in fact as far as crime goes, this isquite a safe area to live in, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors? I think the only other talking point locally was somebody had dumped a stolen car in the back field where I walk with Jake...lol!
I`ll say goodbye for now, I hope you all have a good day, and if you DO have snow, please please send some over to me!!!

We have rain here...no snow...but our winter drags into Jan. and Feb. and it can get much worse. We have had 50's here and will all the rest of the week. I love your snow graphic...this one looks so real! So happy you did not slip and fall...these kids are something with making slides on ice...I worry so much they will crack a tooth or something or even get out of control. If we get snow, I will do my best to send some your way...LOL!! Seems like there is a lot going on with these crime houses...and you are our super sleuth keepin us abreast of the events....you should consider being a detective as a new job! My hugs go to you and the family and hope you have a wonderful New Years Eve!
Hugs,
Joyce

Cannot oblige with the snow. Despite the skies looking like it was going to come down in a blanket, not one flake has fallen and what little we had it now reduced to small patches. Tomorrow they say it is going to warm up. Love the graphic, that is the snow we were supposed to get. Maybe one day you will find out about the crime houses, I do hope so. Keep your ears open for any gossip!
Yesterday evening here it looked just like your graphic but we only have about 3ins of snow today to show for it and you are very welcome to them!! In the park opposite the children are out with their sledges sliding down the hilly parts, enjoying themselves. Oh how I wish I had the energy!! Very foggy out now.
Looking forward to next instalment re crime houses.......
May you get some snow!
If i ever win the lottery or need a PI to make sure Rick is not up to no good, i am hiring you!! You are a great sleuth!
love,lisa
We have snow and it was forecast that it would only be a skimmering and gone by afternoon HAHAHAHA!!! still plenty out there and not a gritter to be seen grrr Caff xxx
We got snow Sandra, but it's disappearing very slowly. More tonight, so they say. think it might be a case of watch out - there's a snowflake about. Keep laughing.
Sylvia xx
Sorry no snow here. Keep your eyes on the crime houses. Hope you find the ironing board that you are looking for. We never had any ice slide places when we were growing up but us kids used to go off into the woods and slide down long hills that were covered with pine straw on homemade slide cart/boards that you guided with your feet on a handle of sorts. Sometimes we ran into trees. LOL. No one got hurt seriously though. Helen
we are supposed to get snow in the next day or so...I had better get some groceries in case of a big storm. supposed to only be a few inches but you never know. We haven't seen the sun for days now and its getting depressing. Hope you have a good day, Sandra
If we get snow I shall redirect it to you with pleasure!! I can't stand the stuff and am frightened to walk in it for fear of injury! Jeannette.
We have snow Sandra! Its freezing too,one of those dark freezing foggy days. . the ones you are glad to be indoors type.I used to slide like you did,it was great fun but now realise why people tried to stop us lol.Somethings going on in those houses!!
When I was in sixth or seventh grade there was a nice slick sheet of ice on the playground, and we were all taking turns sliding on it. That is until, the teacher on guard made us stop. There were some unfair punishments. Some kids who had already gotten introuble that day got detention. I got my name on the board. Funny thing is, my mom had to problem with us sliding on ice. As she says, if there's ice there's kids to slide on it.

Love the 'Snowy' picture, that's what it looked like through my Lounge window yesterday! Allan loves to walk in all weathers, and set of in the early hours to Derbyshire.
Sandra, no snow here either but if it comes...you can have it. You know I still have the same ironing board that I bought in 1967. It's getting a little harder to put up & down but perhaps a little lubricant will help that. I'll tell you one thing, they don't make them like they used to. I use mine not only for ironing but it's also a great gift wrapping table. Linda
LOL no snow here either we had a little bit last night but it went quickly.has been raining.Love the graphic this could well be the scene in January/February time.
Hi Sandra ,you can certainly have some of our snow but youll have to be quick as its now raining and hopefully melting it!! I'm no fun am I? I just hate it when it freezes on top and gets icey and dangerous. My two grandaughters have been out on their sledges and have had a great time, think their Dad loves it as much.......Jean
Wow big snow storm going on in that graphic.
I've stopped by to visit and catch up with you. I see all these cute pics of Roman in his little Santa outfit. Loved the photos of you and the family.
Looks and sounds like a good time.
No snow here either, so much like you, I put snow graphics in my journal. We can have cyber snow all we want can't we.
Sonya
Hello , visiting via Sara really enjoyed your scribbles and your graphics are wonderful. We have had snow overnight here in Scotland but unfortunatly it has now turned to rain. I remember ice slides as well when we got colder winters than we get now and we had such fun. Love Joan.
