A FESTIVE FEELING and A SORE BACK!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to December 1st.  This morning I woke up feeling very bright and cheerful, very unlike me first thing in the morning, then I realised it was the first day of December and now the countdown begins.  Not for me the advent calendar, because I would eat all the chocolates all at once...  sorry but I`m like a little child where chocolate is concerned!  No I can`t explain it but I just feel Christmassy.  What I want to be able to do is put some music on my journal, I just don`t seem to be able to do it.  So if anyone out there knows how to do it....HELP!  because I really need it.

This morning Jim and I went to Tesco armed with two large shopping trolleys.  Two hours later we left with two completely laden shopping trolleys, and we didn`t get it all either.  We do have the majority of Christmas foodstuffs, including the all the meat, pickles, sauces, Christmas puddings, cakes, choccies etc. and loads more besides.  I know that once again we`ve bought far too much stuff and will end up giving Danny and Kerry stuff to take home.  I always say, next year I`ll buy less, but I don`t...I suppose I`ll never learn.  While in the shop I was reaching up to take something from the shelf when I felt a pain in the small of my back.  I had been hit really hard with a shopping basket, the culprit, a woman , just looked at me as if I shouldn`t have been there and didn`t even apologise.  But, I got her back later when she was trying to get past me and Jim in one of the shopping aisles.  We pretended not to see her and she had to struggle through the tiny gap that was there, and all the `excuse mes` in the world didn`t help her!  Of course she wasn`t very happy, but so what, I wasn`t too thrilled when she wallopped me in the back!

Jake is a lot better this morning but last night he was very quiet and all he wanted to do was lay his head on my lap.  He was definitely poorly and I think he must have hada doggy bug of some sort.  I`m glad it wasn`t the chew bone but even more glad that it wasn`t a return bout of colitis.  It`s very debilitating for him and there`s little that we can do except starve him or in the worst case take him to the vet for a course of antibiotics and steroids.  The vet doesn`t want a young dog like Jake to have too many courses of  medication as it can shorten his life expectancy so it`s best to starve him and give him boiled rice and chicken until his tummy is back to normal.

Today has been very dismal and it started to get dark here at about 2.30.  I took Jake for a stroll and the light was fading fast.  The weather forecast says we are going to get gales and heavy rain by this evening, well we`ve been getting the rain since this morning and the wind is quite strong already.  I suppose we are in for some rough weather tonight.

Well, I must go and put some dinner in the oven, then read some journals, then if I`ve got time write out some Christmas cards, I`ve usually done written them and posted them by now.  I hope you are all having a lovely day, Bye Bye for now and take care.

One of the things hat totally amazes me is the absolute rudeness and ignorance of people these days. What happened to politeness and good manners?  Shopping is becoming a nightmare in the large stores.I am soooo glad you got a little revenge on that rude woman.

How rude some people can be, but glad you had your revenge.... lol....Poor Jake I hope he feels better soon,  Sounds like you have a sensible vet - Too many antibiotics and steroids can't be good for him...Enjoy your evening....Ally

I'm glad we shop online.
Music............it's easy..............;-)
But since I hate music on journals I'm keeping quiet!

People are just so rude nowadays, another reason why I only go shopping when I get desperate. I wrote a few cards yesterday, my only acknowledgement of Christmas this year so far!! Hope Jake gets better. Jeannette.

Hope Jake is feeling better but glad he loves his bone.  Sorry about your back as well, some people!  That is the one thing we have not done, any Christmas food shopping but there is plenty of time yet, we tend not to buy so much these days because I cannot eat most of it anyway.

Oh, I meant to say, I had Christmas music on my journal last year.  This year it simply will not take it.  I spent three days and countless hours trying but to no avail.  Think my journal will have to remain silent this year, such a shame.

I hope the bump in your back doesn't cause any harm later. The woman should have apologised for the nasty bump. Poor Jake, hope he soon gets straightened out. Your graphics are pretty today. Helen

Check the code I sent you Sandra, Caff said that I had put .com instead of .co.uk in hers by mistake.  I use .com, but you might need .co.uk.  Does that make sense?!  It really should work, it's quite simple really :o)  Love how everyone is prettying up their journals for Christmas, so festive isn't it, I'm excited for Christmas to get here now :o) :o) :o)

So sorry about that lady hitting you in the back...she really owed you a huge apology.  Have you ever noticed there is no Christmas cheer when you shop anymore.  We see it here...everyone is trying to get something NOW and don't care how they get to it.  Glad you got her back.  So happy Jake is a lot better.  Oh, I do the same when shopping...have bought so much and had to send a lot out...even one year gave extra food to neighbors in need.  So it did not go to waste.  Hope your weather gets better!
Hugs,
Joyce
