FEELIN` SLEEPY

Hello everyone,

Another busy day starting early for me, I`ve had to get up at 6.30am all week and I`m feeling it too, I don`t usually arise until 7.30 and it makes all the difference.  Today is shopping day and I went to Tesco as usual.  The shop was as quiet as it was last Thursday and it makes me wonder if it will get really busy this year.  It`s the largest store in the country so maybe it seems less busy but it suits me as I hate crowds and I can shop at my own pace this way.

Roman is teething today and is not very happy,  poor little chap.  His cheeks are really red and hot and it`s upsetting to see him in so much distress.  Every time he almost fell asleep he would wake up and start to scream, bless him.  Kerry has something called Teethers to rub on his gums and comes highly recommended so I hope that will help him.

I forgot to mention that on Saturday when we put the tree up I got a splinter in the base of my thumb.  Did it hurt too!  Jim had to remove it for me because it went quite deep and was really hurting, not a tiny little splinter either but a great big splinter!  It`s only just healed over and my hand swelled up afterwards for a couple of days.  It turned out to be a piece of metal, next time I put the tree up I`ll wear gloves.

Jim`s new exterior hard drive arrived today after weeks of waiting for it.  I was furious because L arrived home from shopping and there it was on the doorstep.  I couldn`t believe it had been left there in the open for all to see.  The driver didn`t even drop a card through the door to say he called.  It`s a good job I am honest because it would have been easy to say it had never arrived and I really believe that had I not arrived when I did it would have been stolen, it`s happened to us before.

Today I put some new music on my journal but it won`t play.... I know it`s uploaded correctly but I`ve no idea why, I suppose I`ll just have to go back to Bethlehem if I can`t get this right.  It`s a shame because O Holy Night is my favourite carol and I love this version.  That`s all from me today, Have a lovely day/evening and take care.

Christmas Dog

by Shel Silverstein

Tonight's my first night as a watchdog,
And here it is Christmas Eve.
The children are sleeping all cozy upstairs,
While I'm guardin' the stockin's and tree.

What's that now---footsteps on the rooftop?
Could it be a cat or a mouse?
Who's this down the chimney?
A thief with a beard--- And a big sack for robbin' the house?

I'm barkin', I'm growlin', I'm bitin' his butt.
He howls and jumps back in his sleigh.
I scare his strange horses, they leap in the air.
I've frightened the whole bunch away.

Now the house is all peaceful and quiet again.
The stockin's are safe as can be.
Won't the kiddies be glad when they wake up tomorrow
And see how I've guarded the tree.

Every one seems to be doing their shopping on line, perhaps that is why Tesco's is quite.....Poor little Roman Teething can be so painful...Hope the Teethers help him.
Glad Jim got that splinter out - Glad it is healing well.   we all seem to be having trouble with damaged hands fingers etc...lol...:0)   Silly man leaving your package

Well, if it is any consolation, I cannot upload any other music either. I have several pieces but it will only take the one I have on now, nothing else will play.  Did you know there is a problem with your graphic?  Poor little Roman, they all have to go through it.  Our postman does that as well. Sometimes Mike does not go out until the afternoon and will find a parcel lying on the step. As we live in the back we would not know if it was stolen.  I just do not understand why they do that and do not even bother to knock.

Hi Sandra, just wondered if Roman had any of those gel teething rings that you freeze to knaw on for his gums. Poor thing. We have some UPS trucks that deliver Ken's chemicals and we never know they have been here until we go outside. We don't like that method of doing things either. Hope your finger soon gets ok. Your graphics are pretty. I wonder if it's because of the UK journals but I haven't heard any music on either your or Jeannette's journals and I have read comments from other people saying how pretty the Christmas music is. Have a good night, Helen

I've had parcels stolen off the door step, postman shouldn't leave them there for any one to pick up, especially if it's expensive. I have a lot of records by Shel Silverstein, he's so funny! Hope Romans teeth come through for him, poor little soul. Jeannette.

Morning Sandra,

You music is playing just fine & I know what you mean about deliveries left at the front door, it happens all the time at my house. Luckily I live in a quiet neighborhood.

Sorry about your thumb.

Merry Christmas,

Rick

Aww, poor Roman, I remember how miserable J used to get when he was teething, it doesn't seem that long ago!!  Hope the Teethers stuff works for him.  And poor you too, with your big giant splinter!!  Ouch, they really hurt don't they, especially when you're fiddling to get them out!

I hate splinters. They sting. Did you receive my card yet? I am worried about the England cards.
Its cold here in Ohio. Snowy and icy.

I just had my hubby remove a splinter from the palm of my hand...got mine bringing wood into the house for the woodstove.  I cannot stand them, they drive me crazy and that is not hard to do anyway, with me lately LOL.  I know what you mean about the postal service leaving very important, valuable items at the door...where are their minds??  Graphics are so pretty!
Hugs,
Joyce
