Hello everyone,
I`ve had a brilliant weekend, despite having had the worst sinus headache. As you know we had Roman overnight on Saturday and everything went well. He was as good as gold and went to bed at 6.45pm, his usual bedtime and slept right through until about 5.30am. I didn`t get a lot of sleep as I get waking up to see if he was alright, which of course he was, but I just had to check. He is a funny little thing because he doesn`t lie still at night. He starts sleeping in the normal position but turns himself around so that he is laying sideways across the cot, I lost track of how often I turned him back but i gave up eventually when he had turned round completely and was facing the other direction! Also he kicks his bed covers off all the time and no matter how many times I covered him up off they came again, so I had to leave him, the room was warm anyway so I wasn`t worried about him being cold, After his feed at 5.30 I put him back to bed for a while when about 30mins later we were woken by an loud bang that shook the room, it sounded as if the roof had fallen in it was that loud. We looked out of the window and downstairs but we could find nothing and went back to bed. Later on, when we turned the radio on we heard the news of the oil refinery explosion in Hemel Hempstead which is about 30 miles away. I woke Roman for his bath at 8am, he woke up in a cheerful happy mood so I didn`t need to worry that he was missing his Mum too much. When he was bathed he had breakfast and then played on the floor with his baby-gym for a while. Kerry and Slava turned up for him later in the morning, having had a wonderful night out with everything, including drinks was free. Poor Slava was obviously a little under the weather after a bit of over-indulgence... ( I have no sympathy for self-inflicted suffering...lol!) Kerry though, was fine and ready to take her baby home and was really pleased that Roman had been good for us.
This is a photo of Jim and his mates on Friday night. Some of them have been Jim`s friends since childhood. Les, who was Jim`s Best Man at our wedding is in the white shirt at the front of the photo on the right, has known Jim since they were about seven, John with the moustache, standing just behind Jim has known him since they were about eleven. They all had a great night out as you can tell from the picture and they want to do it again more often.
Yesterday afternoon we went to see Harry Potter at the cinema. It WAS a good film but I don`t think it was the best in the series so far. I did rather expect more from it and left the cinema feeling as though something had been missing from it. Next week we are going to see Narnia or King Kong, initially I didn`t fancy King Kong but after seeing the trailer at the cinema it looks rather exiting and I`ve changed my mind now, a lady`s perogative...lol!
I wanted to say that I DON`T make any of the graphics I use myself, I wish I could. I have no idea how to use PSP even though I have tried. I just wanted to set the record straight as a couple of people have congratulated me on my graphics and I was asked did I make them...so no, I just up and download them, but thanks anyway.
I`ll finish now as Kerry will be here soon. I hope you all have had a nice day and that it`s not too cold for you.
A CHRISTMAS TALE
At this time of year it is patently clear
That the males are the ones who are blest.
Thoughts like "goodwill to men" we hear time and again
And we find them quite hard to digest.
As we women all know, men think they run the show,
And sometimes we allow them this pause.
But it gets on our nerves, like too many hors d'oeuvres
When we want to get at the main course.
Many times out of mind the same problem we find,
Leaving plans to the menfolk is risky.
Christmas spirit they think is some kind of a drink,
Such as vodka, Baccardi, or whiskey.
Since we carry the load, men keep out of our road,
We are ready and willing and able.
For it's perfectly clear, that the stuffed turkeys here
Are not always confined to the table.
The traditional way is now rather passe,
Lets give credit, where credit is due.
Then you'll see, man or boy, in return you'll enjoy
The fruits of OUR goodwill to you.

Are you sure Roman is not Nathan's relation. He has always done exactly the same thing in bed, laid sideways across it and he will not stay covered at all so Becky has now got him a bag he sleeps in with a big zip, he cannot get out of that. Glad you had such a lovely time looking after your Grandson.
Great picture of Jim and his mates, looks like they had fun. I always get sad at King Kong because they get him in the end but I shall see it when it comes out on DVD and am looking forward to Narnia.
Glad that things went well with Roman overnight, sorry that you didn't get much sleep. I would have done the same thing as those babies are so precious. Great graphics and the photo is good. I love the frame you put around it. Have a nice evening. Helen

I'm glad you had a good evening with your boy. My kids used to root around in their beds like that. I gave up trying to keep them covered, just bought what they called blanket sleepers and put those on over their little pajamas and then they were toasty all night. I saw the news of the big explosion over there...the flames were shooting high into the air. My first thought would have been that it was Santa, making an early stop.
Aww, how lovely to have Roman for a whole night :o) Nice to for Kerry and Slava to have an evening out knowing that he is being well cared for. Bet Kerry couldn't wait to get back to him in the morning though ;o) I'm so looking forward to seeing Narnia when it comes out on DVD, I just know it will have me wanting to read the books again!! Glad you had a fab weekend :o)
