Photo taken by Jim in Burnham Beeches woods about three years ago.
Hello everyone,
Another day closer to Christmas Day! I`m getting really excited too, as I walk around the streets with Jake I see all the houses with their external decorations and I`m thinking that, come the evening I`ll jump in the car, take the camera and get some photos. I`ve never seen so many houses decorated before, we`ve never done it but maybe next year we put a snowman decoration outside for Roman to see, I`m sure he would love it. Kerry told me that she decorated her tree on Sunday and Roman was smiling and gurgling at it. She really didn`t think at his age he would take any notice so she is really pleased, she is really looking forward to Christmas herself this year. She had about five inches cut off her hair and some long layers cut into it. I think it looks much nicer and I`ll get aphoto of Roman with Kerry next time they are over, I don`t think she`d agree to a photo of her hair alone!
The latest at the `house of crime` is that Jim saw a door open this morning and a small child was ushered quickly out, the person who opened the door shut it really quickly as if they didn`t want to be seen....I wonder why?...lol! The local midweek paper will be delivered tomorrow so I`m hoping to read some more info. I do feel sorry for the children of these people as they are the innocents in all this and I`ll bet there will be a lot of teasing from other children over this sorry affair.
Last night I was feeling really hot in bed so I decided to open the window to help me sleep, it worked all right. This morning jim woke me up telling me that he was freezing and did I know the window was open? He has threatened to move into the spare bedroom if it means him having to freeze at night. I suppose I will have to keep it closed as it wouldn`t be fair on him...lol! Plus, this morning our central heating didn`t come on and I had to work my special `magic` on it. Sometimes the boiler won`t light in the mornings, our nephew, a gas fitter and plumber, has looked at it and can find nothing wrong with it, it just has this little quirk that is easily fixed. I have to open the front of the boiler, where there is a small breather pipe, then I remove this flexible pipe and blow down it very gently, replace it and `voila!` It lights and the heating comes on. Strangely, none of this happens if Jim gets up before 5am and opens the hot water tap, after 5 is too late and we have to got through the above process....that`s if the boiler DOESN`T light that it....it depends what mood it`s in....lol!
I forgot to tell you last week but Slava has been granted `indefinite stay` on his visa. He will now be entitled to the same benefits as a British Citizen without actually being one, for that he has to wait a further two years before applying. He wasn`t thinking of doing that but it will make his life much easier because if he and Kerry want to go overseas for a holiday he will need a visa, even in Europe. A Russian passport can actually make people very suspicious as he has come to realise in the past when looking for work. He also got a rejection letter for the job he`d applied for, Kerry said he was very disappointed but he will still be looking for another in the new year. Well, I`m done here today. I hope you`ve all had a really nice day and are looking after your selves. Bye Bye for now.
I`m Your Christmas Tree, All Brightly Lit ANON
I'm your Christmas tree, all brightly lit,
Hung with angels, coloured balls, and elves.
Underneath my boughs your presents sit,
If you've behaved yourselves.
Why must we wait till early Christmas morn
To open up our brand-new games and toys?
Why gifts for us the day that Christ was born
If we're good girls and boys?
Now listen to your Christmas tree: I'm wise
In all the ways of faith that you must know.
I'm here because of what I symbolise:
Green through ice and snow.
There is a world beyond what we can see
Where, by grace of God, we can receive
God's greatest gift: to live eternally,
If only we believe.
Eternal life is what God gave to you
In sending down His son to live on Earth.
This was His gift, so Santa brings gifts, too,
To celebrate Christ's birth.
The baby Jesus got gifts on this day
Because, like any child, He loved to play.
And so God wants to share this special joy
With every girl and boy.
Believe God loves you as your parents do,
And takes great joy in giving gifts to you.
Live well and love, and evergreen like me,
You'll live eternally.

I sleep with the wnidow open 365 days a year!
Looking forward to the crimewatch update ;-)
Lovely photo Jim took and I like the way you have framed it. We have had outside lights up for years but they are more special now with the boys. Yes, you will have to start for Roman. Sorry to hear about Slava and the job but great that he will now be able to stay. Looking forward to seeing Kerry's new hairstyle. Yes, babies love glittery things and lights so I am sure Roman did enjoy it.

He he, love the sliding penguin graphic :o)
Isn't Christmas extra special when there are little ones around, I imagine you are all looking forward to Roman's first christmas, awww. My hubby despairs of me because in the summer I can't sleep with the window open - allergies - and in winter I can't bear the heating on in the bedroom, so he either overheats or freezes!!

Wonderful news for Slava and Kerrry! Our external decs will probably go up this weekend, if not they will defo be up the following!
That is so pretty...the photo Jim took...I love how it is framed. So many decorations up in our neighborhood...you do not have to go far to see any of them...just open the front door and you can see lights up and down the street. I cannot wait to see Kerry's hair...I bet it is so pretty. You wil have to get photos of Roman looking at all the lights on either Kerry's tree or yours...
I know Slava is disappointed in the job situation, but good did come with the visa...I am happy on that note. So sad there was a child exposed to the crimes in that house...very sad. They are so inocent and should never be exposed to crime...hope they all get caught.
Hugs and have a wonderful day and evening.

What a lovely picture Jim took Iwant to walk in that snow and hear it scrunch beneath my feet ,great news Slava is able to stay ,he ll get a job in the new year !yes it is a shame that children are often the victim in these cases ,...........Jan xx
I have looked after kids all my adult life and I know that babies take more notice over Christmas trees that have colored lights instead of white. I love seeing their faces!
Look forward to seeing Kerry's new hair do....Poor Jim You will have to get him an Electric Blanket that can be left on all night....I keep my window open but I have one of those blankets Its just lovely. That boiler sounds a bit of a nuisance - but you seem to know how to handle it - is that the Kiss of Life you give it..!!!!!!!!!
Hope Slava gets a good job soon.........Ally.

Nice photo, and you have the best graphics! While walking my dog last night, and admiring all the decorated houses, I decided to decorate a bit this year; I managed to place the lighted candels in each window, and it looks so nice; aren't grandbabies wonderful? Your a lucky women. ~Diane~
I'm excited about Christmas this year too! Do you suppose it has to do with having a grandbaby? :)
