Hello all you lovely journal people! I`m here at last.... I`ve been busy catching up on emails and reading journals. I really started to get behind with it all. A very big apology to everybody who didn`t get a comment from me yesterday. I read all the journals but didn`t leave many comments.... sorry, but I just wouldn`t have finished them all if I had.
I spoke to Danny yesterday and he wasn`t feeling too great after the accident. he was hurt a little more than he thought and he had a swollen knee as well as the bump on his head. The driver who hit him originally admitted liability and then changed his mind. Now because of this Danny`s insurance won`t help him with a hire car. He has to use public transport, 2 buses in fact, to get to work....he is not at all happy with the situation, but at least he is one piece.
Jim has starting laying the paving slabs today. He has been working outside since this morning with just a couple of hours off at noon. he is almost halfway there but he says the job is getting a bit more difficult now as the ground is not very even further along the garden and he will have to do a lot of cutting. We went to the garden centre cafe for lunch and whilst we were there we bought a couple of half barrel flower tubs. There are huge but we have wanted them for a while so we can plant the wisteria in one of them. I bought the wisteria a while ago and I`m training it to be a standard. I was looking on an Australian plant website and I printed off some details as how to do it. So far, it`s coming along nicely as they do grow very quickly. Hopefully I can put it at the front of the house in the spring as it will be much bigger by then.
Also on the way home I went into Kwik-Fit to get them to check my car exhaust. I definitely need a new one and with my MOT due on 18th July I have to get it done now. Being a French car (Renault) it`s lot more expensive than a British car, and what annoys me even more is that my car is the new shape, brought out in 1998 in conjuction with the old shape that was in it`s final year of manufacture. For the old shape the cost of the exhaust is £35 , for mine, made in the same year it`s £94! How can they justify that ?
Kerry popped in on her way home from work, she only has tomorrow and then she is on maternity leave. She can`t wait as she is so tired all the time when she is at work. She only gets one half hour break all day and it`s not doing her any good at the moment. Another thing is that she won`t have to drive anymore, she has Slava, me or Jim to take her anywhere once she`s not working.
I`m off now to play a bit of Bookworm. Wish me luck as I`m not doing to well with it lately! Have a lovely day, bye bye for now and take care :-)

Yes, sometimes it does creep up on you and you just cannot seem to fit all the alerts in. Those half barrels sound great Sandra, but I have not seen them anywhere around here. Could you send me that site. I would love to learn how to train Wisteria as I have always wanted one to mask the front of our garage which is at the bottom of our garden and needs hiding. I bet Danny is fed up with all those changes of transport! Have fun on bookworm. I am playing Word Whomp on pogo, I just love that game of making words. xxxxxx
I sometimes find myself reduced to a ":-)" in comments to speed things up! LOL, that way they know I was there! LOL

Hope Danny soon has a full recovery after his accident. Bet that kneee is giving him fits along with the bump on the head. No wonder he is not happy having to get public transport. kerry will fell a lot better since she cab stay home a while. Good luck to Jim on the slab work. Pictures soon I hope. Helen
It's mad isn't it, if you don't read all the alerts in one day you know there's gonna be tons the next day and it's just too much to leave comments all the time. If I ever do that with your journal - just know that I have actually read it :-) Hope Kerry enjoys her maternity leave - how long will she be of for?
that's a bummer about the car insurance.
I hope he makes a quick recovery.
Ihope everything comes out okay with the car.
Manufactuers car parts are a total rip off, especially the foreign makes. It's about time the government watchdog stepped in, and put a stop to the gross overcharging. Enjoy your garden, it's going to be a fairly good weekend, weatherwise.

Kerry will feel much better when she's on maternity leave I'm sure. Poor thing, I do feel for her. Hope Danny's injuries feel better soon too.
Don't worry about falling behind with journals, we all do from time to time ;o)

Thanks for the update on Danny and the one on Kerry too. I know she can relax now and get ready for the arrival of a little one. You take care...Jim too...don't worry about getting caught up, we will always be here!

Catching up can really be a big job, can't it. Sometimes I feel I'll never get caught up and then all of a sudden I'm there. But if I miss a day, BOOM I'm back running on legs that wont don't want to move. LOL Pennie
Poor Danny! Hope he is ok now.I like the sound of the half barrels.Best wishes to kerry now she is on maternity leave. . .not long now!!
Oh, I know you will have a pretty area when Jim is finished with his work. And I'm excited for Kerry. I worked right up until I had my daughter. I did have ample time to take breaks as I was in an office and near a restroom. They even let me get up and go out to get something to eat when my tummy was unsettled. But I sure enjoyed having the 6 weeks off after she was born!
