DISHWASHERS AND MIAMI WEATHER

Hello my lovely journal friends.......I wasn`t a very happy bunny first thing this morning.  I got up, had breakfast, fed Jake and went through all my cleaning rituals in the kitchen.  I loaded the dishwasher and the washing machine.  I just happened to look back to the dishwasher and saw it wasn`t working.  I checked the power and the light was on, no problem there.  Yesterday it worked fine, no funny noises or anything untoward.  I wasn`t too worried because I have insurance cover on my kitchen appliances...........or so I thought.  I checked the documents and found they ran out on May 12th this year!   I couldn`t believe it, just my luck.  The annoying thing is the company haven`t sent me a renewal form as they usually do, so guess who will be getting an irate phone call on Monday morning.  I will have to pay for the repair myself and I`m not happy at all!  I think it might be the ignition switch, not the motor so hopefully it won`t cost as much.

I was reading our local paper over breakfast and apparently the gypsies have been moved off the illegal site in Upton Park, leaving the council with a clean up bill of £12,000.  I didn`t know but the travellers go there every year if they can gain access,  much to the annoyance of residents whose gardens overlook the park. The main reason why people buy those properties is the stunning view of Windsor Castle in the distance.  Now, all they are overlooking are piles of all sorts of rubbish.

The graphic I have posted is what I would have loved to have done today. But it`s far too hot and humid for spending time in the garden.  According to the cheery radio weatherman, our temperature and humidity are the same as Miami.  The problem being that we are not in Miami.  If I were I`d be on holiday and sitting in the shade with a strawberry Daquiri ( I not sure of the spelling) to keep me cool ! A nice balmy, English summers day would do me fine.  I can`t even take Jake out, bless him, he really can`t stand the heat.  He has spent all morning in the shade of the magnolia tree.

I was going to take some garden photos to post here but what flowers I have are looking sad and limp, although they are being watered regularly.  I think it will take a couple of years for these new plants to look any good, but at the moment they just look rather sad under the merciless sun.

Jim and I have been invited to a 40th birthday party tonight, but I`ve decided not to go as none of my female friends are going and I wasn`t looking forward to it anyway.  Jim is now going with his mate Mark.  They are both working on early shift tomorrow so they will only stay until about 11pm.  I am perfectly happy to stay home, watch a little TV, and sit up here messing around with the PC, and eat half a tub of coffee icecream!

I`m now going to crawl away and melt very quietly while trying to read your journals!  Have a lovely day all of you and I hope it isn`t too uncomfortably hot where you are. Take care and bye bye for now :-)

Don't you just hate that? I buy Proline stuff so if my dishwasher dies, it'll be cheaper to replace the thing. Imagine, all weekend you'll be washing up by hand....oh, the humanity!!!!!

Hi Sandra, thanks for the nice comment you left in my journal. So sorry about the dishwasher problems. Washing dishes is the pits.LOL. Hope you soon get it fixed.
It was a nice crisp 59º here this morning so I enjoyed getting out to water my flowers.
Have a nice afternoon. Helen

I have a dishwasher, it is called Mike.  Wish I had the real thing but we have absolutely no room in our tiny kitchen.  Far too hot for me. I could not even join the family in the "pool" - had a headache and still some neck problems.  Our boys cannot go for their walks until after dark in this weather.  We do hose them down though and they love that. xxxxx

I still have my dishwasher in training (Ron). It was easier to train the dog to stop peeing everywhere, when she was a pup! Keep smiling.

I'm so glad I don't work for a dishwasher company ;-)  Sounds like you've had a nice day........I can't stand this heat!!  How the hell do people cope in Miami?

Poor dishwasher :o(
Gypsies do leave an awful mess behind them when they leave don't they.  We're constantly getting them parked up along grass verges here in MK.
Hope you enjoyed your evening in with coffee ice cream, sounds heavenly :o)

£12000 to clean up the travellers site? Ye gods - they must have made a heck of a mess! I feel sorry for poor Jake in this weather - dogs always suffer in heat like this. Hope you manage to sort something out over the dishwasher. That's typical sod's law though - it breaks down just after the insurance has run out!

I hate heat!  When i went to Miami in July it was so hot and humid I stayed in the hotel most of the time.  ANd I was only in my 20's!  Daquiris in the air conditioning is my speed.  Pennie

That is such a cute graphic...love it.  Hot is not the word for it if you have humidity like Miami.  We get that here too in July and August too.  Hope you had a nice relaxing evening and as for the garden flowers going limp, I had to take a lot of mine out of my own photo shots...they had gone by the wayside also.

It must be something in the air with appliences going wrong! I hope you get it sorted and it doesnt cost you too much. Just remember to renew our insurance next time, I know I wont forget after what happened to my fridge!
The mess travellers leave behind is appauling not only that the police cant move them on until they have been on the land for a certain length of time, enough time for them to make a mess and damage things in their path, not to mention the burglaries and vandalism. (I'm not saying its just Travellers)
