NO FISHIN` !

Hello everyone,

Jim returned home last night from his fishing trip at 9pm, so I thought he must have had a good day......Oh no he didn`t.  Not even slightly good....more like TERRIBLE!

The only fish he caught was about 3 inches long and not worth the bother of landing. He said is is worried about the lake itself.  He says the water level is too low and there were dead fish floating on the surface which is always a bad sign, apparently.  He said it`s a sign of low oxygen in the water.  Some lakes , he went on, have generators that pump oxygen into the water, keeping the fish more alert and healthy. Also the sight of dead fish will keep anglers away from that particular lake,

In the photo above, the is a carp swimming right by the place that Jim fishes from, and that was the nearest he got to one all day.  Next time he goes fishing, he will definitely be going somewhere else!

This morning when I was sweeping the kitchen floor I felt something sharp in my foot. I`d trodden on a tiny piece of glass that had got into my slipper. I then removed it gingerly, being careful not to push it in any further.   Yesterday I broke a bottle of wine all over the kitchen floor.  I thought I`d got all of the glass up but obviously not. I must add that I don`t drink wine for breakfast.  It`s just that I keep the wine rack in the kitchen!

Today we walked Jake to the back field where we met a woman walking her dog.  She had her arm in a sling and it turned out that she has just had the same operation as me.  She asked me how long it took me to get back to normal and I said it would be a little while yet.  I hadn`t the heart to tell her that it hadn`t worked.  Later we went to lunch at the garden centre cafe. This time we took Kerry with us as she has a few days off work.  After lunch we went to see Jim`s Mum at the nursing home. kerry was quite shocked at how she has worsened since she last saw her a couple of months ago. It is quite sad that she doesn`t recognise any of us anymore.  We can only visit her and talk to her and see that she is well, nothing more.  After that, we went to see Jim`s sister who was overjoyed to see how Kerry has expanded!  We stayed for a couple of hours then came home to a meal of fresh fish, caught by Jim`s fair hand on the sea trip last week.  Needless to say, it was delicious!

I have to go now and finish off reading the journals. But before I go was anyone else surprised at yesterday`s VERDICT ?  Have a lovely day, Bye for now. :-)

Yes I think I was surprised by the verdict but not as much as I thought I would be - if that makes any sense..........ouch at the glass!!  Shame Jim's fishing trip didn't go very well, better luck next time!  Also a shame about Jim's mum, I felt the same when I saw my nan and grandad at xmas as I hadn't seen them in ages.  Poor things...........

Pretty picture with the reflection of those clouds. I think I see the carps head. Sorry Jim had a bad fishing day, that can be flustrating. No I was not surprised by the verdict yesterday.
It's rough to see family members who don't recognize who you are. My grandmother was like that the last few years before the end came. Helen

Things are looking bad for Jims fishing trip to that spot.We need some rain but I can never fathom out why ,we do have plenty of rain dont we?Its kind of you not to tell that lady your op hadnt worked, let her at least have some hope.Poor Jims Mum,its sad to see some old people ,even sadder when their mind has gone.It will be lovely if she holds the new baby though .Do you mean the Michael Jackson verdict? If you do I was surprised yeah!I think he was guilty and if a man of his age in my road say had all those kids stopping over he would be well locked up now?And like the papers say today let the jurors kids stop with him tonight.Would they let them? Dont think so!

Sorry, Jim's fishing trip did not work out the way he planned...but the first one was a winner for sure.  Hope your foot is okay now...I have broken many a glass but worry here that one of my four dogs will step on a small piece that I may miss...so far so good.  I used to step on BEE's as a kid outside...now that HURTS!!!  Will keep Jim's mum in our prayers.  Take care and enjoy your day tomorrow!

Oh, I'm sorry that Jim didn't catch any fish.  If the fish weren't healthy then that is probably a good thing he didn't catch any.  But maybe next time they will have fun somewhere else.

Yes I was VERY surprised on the verdict.  There were so many counts that I figured he was guilty of at least one of them.  Where there is smoke there is fire.  Amazing.

Have a good day.  Hope your cut is not bad in your foot.  Maybe you should run a vaccum over the kitchen floor.  Sometimes that helps to get the small hidden pieces.

Fishing, it seems lately, isn't what it used to be.  Less enjoyment, more disappointment.  And finding a piece of broken glass by way of your foot...ouch.  Glad you got the piece out safely!  As for the verdict, don't know what to think...

Very interesting to hear about that lake - I wonder how it's fed, perhaps from a stream? If so, the stream will probably be very low and not too healthy at the moment either. You were lucky with that piece of glass - there's always a bit you don't find when you clean up! As for that verdict - all I can say is the justice system in California seems pretty weird to me - like the jury!
