LAZIN` AROUND!

Kerry and a very attentive Jake

Hello everyone, It`s a nice lazy type of day for me today.  I had the garden furniture out and Kerry and I sat in the garden for most of the afternoon. But now Kerry has gone home and the sun is now hidden behind some threatening looking clouds, I ve the covers over just in case it rains, which I`m certain it will.  It is being reported on the news that the country will be having hosepipe bans as out reservoirs are too low. Apparently we need continous rain for the next 6 weeks, I think it is, for them to be full again.  I for one, am always careful with water and try not too waste it, but I blame the water authorities for being the truly wasteful ones. I remember on too many occasions where there has been a water leak in the street and it has not been fixed for several days. How much water is wasted then?  Plus when there is heavy rain, all we seem to have is floods.  It`s crazy!

This morning I went to Tesco food shopping.  I got some shopping for Kerry too as she doesn`t have Slava back for another two weeks, and I told her to just give me her list. It was quite funny me having to back track all the time while following two lists. I`d get all the way down to the end of the shop , check the lists again and find I`d forgotten something, and have to go all the way back again!  But this morning I didn`t mind at all as it wasn`t busy as I got there at 9am before the rush started. Whilst there I bumped into Mark (Jim`s mate) and he was waxing lyrical about the fish that they caught. Apparently, last night he had a BBQ and cooked all the fish. He said it was all really tasty and he was making my mouth water just taking about it!

I just had to take a photo of Kery with Jake.  He wouldn`t leave her alone today and was sitting with her all afternoon.  I`m sure he can tell about the baby, who knows eh?  I thought that it would look nice for my journal and asked Kerry would she mind.  She just laughed and said " Go on then!"  She thinks this journal stuff is all quite mad, but I think she makes allowances for me and puts it down to my advancing age!

As I type this entry it has got so dark that I`ve had to put the light on. I wouldn`t be surprised if we didn`t have a storm.  It`s quite hot,  humid and still...something is brewing!  I think I`ll take Jake out for a walk before something does happen.....and it would be an idea to take an umbrella.....unless there`s a storm, in which case I`ll just have to get wet....lol !  That`s it for today, I`ll leave you with some trivia.  Have a lovely day wherever you are. Bye for now :-)

~  In most American states, a wedding ring is exept by law from inclusion among the assets in a bankruptcy estate.  This means that a wedding ring cannot be seized by ceditors, no matter how much a bankrupt person owes.  ~

~  In Breton, Alabama, there is a law on the town`s books against riding down the street in a motorboat.  ~

~  In New York State, it is illegal to shoot a rabbit from a moving trolley car. ~

~  In Riverside, California, there is an old law on the city`s books which makes it illegal to kiss unless both people wipe their lips with rose water.  ~

I agree about the Water Companies Sandra, it is scandalous the amount of leakage from the pipes.  It is also scandalous that we are an island surrounded by water and yet no matter how much rain we get, there always seems to be a shortage.  That should invest some of the shareholders money in desalinization plants.  Typical the change in the weather, hot sun this morning.  Mike goes out and buys a plastic pool so that Nathan can go in (supervised of course).  He had no sooner got it out of the bag than the clouds came across. They did say today and tomorrow would be lovely and it would only change at the weekend.  We are having Nathan in the morning and had so hoped he would be able to go in for a dip so to speak.  Ho hum.  Beautiful picture of Kerry and how sweet of Jake to be so attentive.  They do know. xxxxxx

Beautiful picture Sandra. I love those trivia saying in the US. I Liked the one where you can't ride down the street in a motorboat in Alabama. LOL. Helen

I think Kerry's new baby has a built in body guard in Jake...what a cute photo.  He sits like he is majestic!  Kerry is glowing!  Glad you had a lazy day today!  Storms are headed our way soon...hot humid and yucky outside now!  Love the Grandma gif.

Wow it's nice to see Kerry and isn't it sweet that Jake is being protective.  I used to live next door to a family who had a small boy and the alsation would protect him.  Sounds like you've had a good day.  Wish I could sit in the garden all day :-)
