FEELIN` HOT HOT HOT!

 PHEW!

Hello everyone..... it is HOT today.  Really, really hot. What is it with this country that we can`t have `proper` weather like everyone else.  A couple of days ago it was chilly and today it is really humid.  Sorry about the moan, just put it down to the British obsession with the weather.

I didn`t have time to post anything yesterday. I went to visit my friend B who has just had her car vandalised for the second time this year.  Whoever did it broke the locks on the car but luckily couldn`t get into it, but there are scratches all over the doors and that means resprayed panels, and the ignition key will need replacing too.  Luckily her insurers are very good and she got a hire car immediately while hers is being repaired.  Why do people have to behave like this?  She is very angry about this as it happened outside her place of work, but the CCT cameras were turned off so there is no way of finding out who did it.

I`ve been shopping and gardening today.  I planted the Japanese Acer in a nice sheltered spot, thanks Jeannette for the advice, it should do quite nicely there.  I planted some Dianthus right next to it and I placed a Oriental Lily over the otherside of the garden at the back away from the path, seeing as how they are toxic if eaten, and they cause skin irritation too, as  I have found to my cost.  I will be planting a Tom Thumb fuchsia where the old tree was growing.  They are very hardy and I hope that too will flourish.  Back to the shopping, I went to town with Kerry and as it got hotter so we slowed our pace around the shops, as I bought a few more clothes for the hols...roll on AUGUST 14TH and Canada.

This is where I may have a problem.  We go away on the 14th, but Kerry`s baby is due July 31st.  I`m really hoping that the baby comes before I go away, and that Kerryand Slava are home and coping with everything.  Kerry was a little anxious this morning, very understandable of course, but she told me that we have to go on this holiday regardless, and that she WILL manage.  I know she will but I am her mum.    I wonder, just for a bit of fun, who can guess the date the baby will be born.  Just leave your date in the comments section.  :-)

Jake has declared war on all flies and bluebottles. Because of the time of year they are everywhere and he is bounding around the house and garden like a gazelle, jaws snapping all the while.  It is so funny to watch and he never catches them but his reign of terror continues.

I have been asked to show photos of Jim`s wall and patio area.  Well I`ve been banned from doing that for a while.  He has put a temporary barrier up to stop Jake from lying on the newly laid turf.  He is going to order the new paving slabs and the weekend so I`ll bet he won`t let me take a photo until it`s all finished....sorry about that :-(

Now it`s time I went and read some journals.  Have a lovely weekend and take it easy!  Bye for now  :-)

The weather has got me down already and it is only day one of the heatwave!!!!! No energy, headache.  We never get reasonable weather here, only extremes.  As for the baby I have a feeling it will be a little late, I shall go for around the 20th maybe even a bit later.
Looking forward to seeing Jim's handiwork when he gives you permission. Shame about your friends car.  There are some real sick people around xxxxx

3rd August! Agree with you over humidity. My downstairs loo has wet floor. No - him indoors didn't "miss; the humidity causes the tiles to "sweat". Have a lovely weekend.

There certainly are some brain-dead people around - doing that to your friend's car. Shame the cameras weren't working. I'm sure you'll still be here for the baby - it's due 2 weeks before you leave for Canada, isn't it? I'd have thought that's ample time for it to arrive. But then, what would I know? :-)

Sorry about the hot weather getting you & daughter down. I will guess the baby's date of birth would be the 30th. Either way I hope it comes and goes without any problems before you and Jim leave. Shame about you friends car. Some people just want something for nothing is all I can figure out. Poor Jake. Wonder what a bluebottle is? Maybe a dragonfly of some sort?  Looking forward to seeing some pic's of Jim's work. Helen

This is Kerry's 1st, correct? I will say July 20th. They usually come early if its the first. What is our prize if we guess the correct date?!! Do i assume a hire car is a rental car? Sounds like your flowers are beautiful. I am so jealous. I havent had the time for half the proper care of my yard. Its wonderful here in Ohio....low 70's and a wonderful breeze and bright blue skies. Nothing like a week ago today in Florida. Yuck.
Take good care of yourself, Sandra!! Love, lisa jo

As Kerry seems to be doing quite well I'm gonna go for July 28th :-)  This weather is ridiculous and why can't we have siestas like abroad does.  I can believe that the CCT cameras weren't working my mate parked their car in a car park and they got broken into and it was the only floor without a camera :-(
