CARS, NEIGHBOURS AND PRINTERS

Hello everyone,

I thought I didn`t have much to say today but that all changed at lunchtime when I got a call from Danny who said he had just had a car accident.  He wasn`t hurt apart from a bump on his head.  His car however, is a write off and the accident was 50-50.  The other driver had a company car so it isn`t a problem for him, Danny`s insurance is third party only and his car is ancient so he won`t get a penny.  he now has to see his bank manager to see if they will give him a loan.  He won`t automatically qualify for a over the counter loan so I just hope he is successful, if not it`s public transport for him for a while!  I`ll call him later when he gets home from work to make sure he is ok,  I`m sure he is a little shocked regardless of what he told me.

I`ve had a few encounters with wasps the last couple of days.  I loathe them and it is the time of year for them now.  I try to kill as many as I can....nasty creatures!  Also we`ve had these very odd looking flying bugs that have been buzzing around the trees in the evenings.  They are very large and neither Jim nor I have seen them before.  They were around for about a week and now there`s no sign of them !

Just lately I`ve been watching Wimbledon as much as I can.  The matches are getting better now as the championships reach the end and I`m really looking forward to the last few matches.

Update on the neighbours from hell from next door.  Some of the comments left the other day were about their unsociable behaviour.  The thing I just can`t deal with is the house is their own property.  You would think that as the owners they would take a pride in it. I know isn`t isn`t though lack of money as they are always buying new cars. Eventually,  Jim and I and it are going to sell up and move, but it would be hard for us because any prospective buyer who would see the neighbours property before they got inside ours!  Oh well, maybe they will decide they want to move before us, who knows?

On TV last night I saw the US version of The Office, the hit comedy show which I really couldn`t stand.  I thought that I`d watch The Office: An American Workplace out of curiousity, and to my surprise I really thought it was funny.  One of the actors I recognised, though I don`t know his name, but he played Arthur in `Six Feet Under`, another excellent US series that we both watch.  I will definitely watch it next week though Jim doesn`t share my enthusiasm.

The printer is working now.  Jim re-installed the software and found that it wasn`t properly installed in the first place.  Now he has found much more printer stuff and it`s working perfectly, and that`s all I care about.  The CD player started working as I said yesterday, then it stopped and then started again.  At the moment it is going but I don`t know how much longer it will last.  Never mind it was only a cheap one and I`ve had more than my money`s worth out of it.

That`s it for now. I`m off to make something to eat and to read the journals.  Have a lovely day, all of you and take care :-)

neighbours from hell, know allll about it. When I sold my previous house, next door had horrid paintchipped windows and a massive tree in the back garden which took all the light, on the other side was a man who left his garden so that Ant and Dec would pop out and do a bushtucker trial. If you get the right people though that won't matter, they'll buy the house if they love it! Haven't seen the Office American style, but I will check it out.

Glad Danny is ok,aw poor lad. Some people with money are still slobs, makes no difference to their standards. I wonder why they are like that though?Theres a programme on this week about the filthy Fulfords who live in a stately home. . kim and Aggie are going to sort them out!!

Glad that Danny is ok. Cartoon is very cute. I was going to suggest the crane fry but Julie has already beat me to it. Our neighbors son showed one of those things to Ken(who is in pest control for about 27 years) the other day & told him it was the biggest " da-- mosquito he had ever seen" and argued with him that it was a mosquito. LOL. Glad Jim got your printer going. A friend of ours had to get a new one the other day and had Ken helped him get it going. It just happened the colored ink which was almost new fit our printer.  Was I glad? YES! Those sayings on why say it  twice was cute. Have a good evening. Helen

Glad it was not more serious with Danny, Sandra although he probably is shaken up.  Hope he gets a new car sorted.  Funny, we have not seen any wasps around here and I do not really want to!! I hate them.  I can sympathise about neighbours, we have a right lot next door but we cannot afford to move. xxxx

Poor Danny - hope he has success with the bank, but very glad he wasn't badly hurt. I wonder if those things buzzing around the trees were Maybugs? They disappear after a short visit. Your Jim obviously has the right touch - first he fixes the dish washer just by turning it on, and now he's sorted the printer without any problems. Useful man!

First of all the picture is cute.  This could easily be Tugie!
She is so jealous of the attention we give the cats.
Sorry about Danny.  I know he is bummed.  Hope it all works out.
Hey could those bugs be cicadas?  We have them here for a few weeks but only every few years.  They are very loud and obnoxious and I refuse to be outside.
Have been seeing Wimbledon on various TV's while traveling but not keeping up with it.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope he is ok?

Wimbledon is my favorite and watch the high lights when I get home, However I have to keep flicking to the 20/20 cricket which is also fab!

Glad Danny only received a bump on the head Sandra, and I hope he manages to get himself a loan for a new car.  We have messy neighbours too on one side, but the true neighbours from hell were the ones we had before we lived here.  We had to spend half the week staying at my Mother in law's because we couldn't bear the noise!  Haven't seen the American version of The Office, but loved the original :o)

I hope Danny will be okay...and I pray he will get the loan he needs.  So sorry about his accident.  Wasps!!!  Wow, they are terrible...can't stand them myself.  I hope that neighbor gets the house taken care of and maybe go without a new car...so sad.
You take care...and have a great day.

Looks like those big flying bugs have put a few bugs in your electrical items. Maybe they are aliens, who come to earth around the summer solstice. Keep laughing, or you will cry, listening to my mad ideas.
