THE BOY DONE GOOD!

Hello everyone, welcome to a bright sunny Saturday...well it was sunny, it`s still bright but the clouds are gathering overhead.  Still, half a day of sunshine is better than none.  For me Saturday mornings are housework , for Jim today was...walk Jake for an hour, go and buy another coping stone for the wall...one got broken......then go to the garden centre and buy some turf.  Having done this he decided that he would prepare the ground for laying the turf, then he decided it would be a good idea to lay the coping stone.....so he did.  THEN he decided as he still had time, he would lay one or two of the turves ( I think that`s the way you spell it).  Of course, he then carried on for the rest of the morning and finished the lot!  The thing being he has to work today, so he just had time for a shower, I made him some sandwiches, which he ate on the run and then he had to go.  He will be exhausted, and there was no rush for him to do all the work today. Still, that`s Jim...!

Our son, Danny was here this morning too.  His car was having a service so he called in while he was waiting.  Danny loves to help his Dad, verbally rather than physically.  He had lots of advice to offer, ranging from whether the turf looked level, what might be a good patio design, through to ending poverty in Africa to achieving world peace. ( honestly!)  Of course, Jim, who is very patient was starting to mutter through clenched teeth and waved his mallet threateningly in Dan`s direction.!  Dan, of course was oblivious and carried on regardless until Jim asked him nicely to shut up!  It didn`t work, but never mind, he never stays very long anyway.  Much as we love him he can talk for England, and if there were a category for it in the Olympic Games he would win gold. :-)

When the post came today Jim got the funniest letter, and I thought I would share it with you all.

SPEED DATING !  Jim ?  We all really laughed at this.....It did say though that it is for people aged 25-65, so he does fit into the bracket. lol!

It seems that the sun is shining again...The forecast did say rain....but who believes in those. I just look out of the window and see what it`s doing out there!

That`s enough from me today. I`ll say goodbye and leave you to have a lovely weekend. :-)

Well done Jim! I admire him for just bashing on with all that work and getting it done - a terrific achievement! It's probably a case of once he gets into the rhythm of it all, he just has to keep going!
