Hello everyone, on a very overcast and dark, miserable morning. Firstly, I have a British QUARRY CRITTERS site that is better for my UK friends than the one I posted yesterday.
Secondly, but even more important is that Jake is not very well. He had a nasty attack of colitis in the night, and without giving you the gory details, it took me half an hour to clear up the kitchen floor at 6am this morning. We took him to the Vet , first thing this morning and met the new Vet, who only started this morning. She confirmed it was colitis and asked us lots of questions about him. She didn`t think it was brought on by stress because she thinks he is too relaxed in the surgery, ie, he laid down on the floor the way he does at home. More than likely though is a food intolerance that he won`t grow out of. She gave him an anti-inflammatory injection and a course of antibiotics. He mustn`t have any food until tomorrow morning ( which isn`t going down to well with him !) and then only chicken or fish, pasta, rice or potatoes. Then he will be having Chappie chiken and rice which is excellent for dogs with colitis. This nice new lady Vet gave us lots of advice as to how to avoid attacks recurring, which is nice because vet bills don`t come cheap, and much as they are very nice people I would rather avoid seeing them too often!
Yesterday, we had a lovely roast chicken dinner ay Kerry`s, followed by strawberry cheesecake. It was really lovely and we came away full up. It was so nice to be cooked for instead of doing it myself. Much as I like cooking, tasting someone elses was a nice change.
This afternoon, as I said yesterday, I have my Nerve test. I`m not looking forward to it as it was painful before when my elbow hadn`t been hurting. Now I`ve had the op, and the nerve in my elbow is so exposed I`m certain that I am going to feel it even more. Please think of me at 2.30pm as I`m getting my electric shocks. After the hospital I`m off to my Docs, just a routine appointment but seeing as I hate going there as I always seem to pick up germs from all the sick people in the waiting room. So I go in healthy and come out with another virus lol! I`ve only just got rid of that painful throat I had. It just disappeared and didn`t turn into anything nasty, luckily.
That`s it for today I think. Not much else going on apart from Jim getting all excited about his fishing trip tomorrow, and now he is worried that the weather will stop the trip going ahead. He`s been so looking forward to it that I hope it will be a lovely day for him and his five friends. He really does deserve this day out. He is going to take the camera and get some photos for me to post in the journal. At the moment he is in the garden cementing the coping stones onto the wall. For now, have a great day and take care of yourselves. :-)

Oh poor Jake! Funny because Pip was at the vets this morning. They are going to stop the steroid injections because he had bad reactions and he is now starting tablets, one per day with food. I feel so sorry for Jake, let us hope this new regime works for him. Good luck with your hospital appointment dear friend. I shall be thinking of you. Hope Jim enjoys his trip tomorrow, they say the weather is going to improve, it needs to!!! Let us know how you get on at the hospital xxxxxx
I do hope Jake gets better quickly. Would love to be with Jim and his five friends on their fishing trip. Now, you take care and know we are thinking of you as you get yourself tested today. I hope you are surprised and the pain is less than you remembered during the test.

Poor Jake :o(
I hope that the treatment he had did the trick and that the new diet keeps him healthy and away from the vets!!
Also hoping your nerve test went well, and that it didn't leave you with more pain.

Oh I love the lab graphic, but most importantly is that I'm worried about your Jake. Hope he is fairing better! Bless his heart.
