OUR SUB POST OFFICE

This old sub Post office is just half a mile from my house.  I always walk along there to pay my phone bill, council tax, TV licence etc;  I was surprised that this old photo from the 1930`s is not really much different from today.  The building is exactly the same.  The exteral door into the Post Office is a `stable` type door. The sort where the door has a top half and a bottom half.  In summer the top half is open all day and the couple who run the place can get some air.  Inside the shop they sell sweets and a few basic groceries like bread and milk.

The only real difference that I can see is the lack of cars parked outside the shop in a small layby that is there now, also at the top of the road there is now a small roundabout leading straight on to the hospital which has been there since the middle 1960`s.

I do hope that the Post Office will continue as a business as it serves the  village of Wexham very well and it would be a shame to lose an old building that has been there all my life and many years before that.
