OH HAPPY DAY !

                      DAFFODILS

        I wandered lonely as a cloud

       That floats on high o`er vales and hills,

       When all at once I saw a crowd,

       A host of golden daffodils;

        Beside the lake,  Beneath the tree,

        Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

       Continuous as the stars that shine

       And twinkle on the milky way,

       They stretch in never-ending line

       Along the margin of the bay;

       Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

       Tossing their head`s in sprightly dance.

      The waves beside them danced,  but they

       Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:-

        A poet could not but be gay,

        In such a jocund company;

        I gazed-and-gazed but little thought

        What wealth the show to me had brought:

       For oft when on my couch I lie

       In vacant or in pensive mood,

       They flash upon that inward eye

       Which is the bliss of solitude,

       And then my heart with pleasure fills,

       And dances with the daffodils.

PIPPA`S SONG  by Robert Browning

The year`s at the spring,

And day`s at the morn;

Morning`s at seven;

The hill-side`s dew pearl`d;

The lark`s on the wing

The snail`s on the thorn;

God`s in his heaven -

All`s right with the world

These are two of my favourite poems, both of which are joyful and fit well with my frame of mind today.  Today is for me, a good day, and it it be the same for you all.  The signature was made for me for my very good friend, Sharon.  I love her journal so please take a look yourself.  It`s worth a read.

One of my favourite poems Sandra and I love the photo. I noticed just yesterday that the Daffs are starting to push through in the garden.  What a lovely graphic, it is the image of Jake, beautiful. Sharon is very clever, one of the nicest siggies I have seen. xxxxxxx

I fell in love with "Pippa's Song" when I first encoutered it in my tenth grade English Literature class.  That was more years ago than I care to think about, but I've remembered every word of it since.   When things are gloomy, I often haul it out from the back of my mind and recite it out loud.  Always feel better.
