I found this photo in yesterday`s Daily Mail newspaper along with several others. I found it simply charming to see the little girl holding the dogs ear like that. I can imagine the dog thinking " OK, you can hold it but DON`T pull !" and the little girl would be thinking that the dogs ear was all soft and velvety to touch.
Then I wondered just when the photo was taken. I would imagine it was around the late 19th century. I also wondered who she may have been and did she marry , have children, and are there possible any of her ancestors alive today ? Who knows, maybe the dog has ancestors around today !

Oh my gosh...I love that photo. Reminds me of some my grandma use to pull out when we would come over. Isn't it just adorable. :)

Lovely photo. When I see old photographs I think exactly like you do and wonder so much about them. You see them in junk shops, antique shops and such like. I also wonder how people came to give or throw them away, all part of their family history. Whoever the little girl was, I hope she had a happy life. Maybe one of her descendants will recognise it. xxxxxx
I just love that photo Sandra, I love the ribbon in her hair, the way she's dressed, and of course the ear holding!! Poor dog!! I hope she had a happy life too :o)
