` The sun has got his hat on, HIP HIP HIP HOORAY The sun has got his hat on and he`s coming out to play ` !!!
Well the sun shone all last week and a wonderful time was had by all. Oh and now its all over but I`m back suitably refreshed. I really must have used muscles that I havent used for ages. Dorset is a very hilly county and though we go there every year, I always forget quite how steep they can be. To get to our lovely little cottage we have to park our car about 100 yards from the place itself. Then with cases and holiday gear in hand we proceed to go down a steep path that evens out next to a farm yard gate that says `KEEP OUT!` They are friendly people really! Then we have to climb 3 lots of stone steps and walk along a narrow gravel path getting scratched by roses and brambles and running the gauntlet through a wasps nest before getting to the door.......We have to make the same journey SIX times till we have all the luggage indoors. Its a good thing I have a strong and healthy hubby! A lot of the stuff we take away is Hannah labradors, feed bowls , bedding dog food etc. Mind you , after the initial shock of the hills we soon get used to walking at an angle everywhere and we start to feel fitter as the week goes on. Of course this year it has been so hot that we just have to spend a lot of time in The Smugglers, the local Pub/restaurant that is only 50yards the other way from our front door! Its heavenly sitting outside there with an ice cold lager shandy or pint in Jim`s case. Oh to be in England, at least when the weathers as good as last week. I think my weeks in Osmington Mills, Dorset are as good as they get. We went to some lovely places and we crammed in as much as we could. There are lots of Markets there too and we went to about four of them. I always buy my tea-towels there, its a good excuse to go there every year...lololol. Every night we ate out, which was lovely but there is always a downside to everything and this is no exception, putting on weight! Mind you, like I say with all the exercise we have had I have yet to find out if I did put any on. We did have rather a lot of Dorset cream teas which are as fattening as you like, but who cares while you are on holiday. Its when you come home and your clothes start to feel a little tight that you start to worry. Of course we will do it all again next year!
Another thing is that the sun and the walking and over-eating all add up to make so tired at the end of the day that you sleep like a logand wake up ready to do it all over again the next day!
I have said before about my ridiculously pathetic fear of cows in the field next to the cottage. Well this year to my surprise and relief, the farmer had put them into another field. Oh Joy! So I could cross the field happily with Hannah and not have to keep looking over my shoulder. Silly woman that I am! I have so many photos that I wanted to post but there is an online problem with software so I shall try again tomorrow so Bye Bye for now.

Glad you had such a lovely time Sandra. Oh those cream teas, I remember how delicious they were from the time we went to the West Country. Glad you did not have to confront the cows. Now you have come back to rain "sighs". Well, you have a lot of journal catching up to do. Looking forward to seeing the photos when you can post. Talk to you soon. xxxxxxx
