Hello everyone,
I`m been having a lot of trouble downloading my Canadian holiday photos so I`m going to put them in the body of my journal instead. I`ll give them captions and explain a thing or two about them but will add an entry proper about the holiday itself tomorrow. Here goes!
In Vancouver on our first day there. It wasreally hot, somewhere in the 30`s.
Jim standing by the Olympic countdown clock. The next Winter Olympics are being held in Whistler in 2010.
I took this photo from Granville Island in Vancouver. The island is inhabited by artists and has lots of galleries, small markets and is a really `happening` place. Again it was very hot and we enjoyed having some free time, just sitting drinking coffee and eating pizza!
Our hotel in the mountain resort of Banff. It`s such a pretty town and we enjoyed every minute we had there. It was such a pity we were only there for two days but we had so much more to see.
Looking down from the Banff gondola. We took the gondola to the top of Sulper Mountain, so called because of it`s hot springs. The view from the topof the mountain was breathtakingly beautiful. See below.
The Fairmont Hotel Banff was the location for the film, The Shining starring Jack Nicholson.
Just to prove we were really there...lol!
Pictured with a real-life, albeit retired Mountie, Sgt. Tom Prescott. His tales of his days in the RCMP were certainly an eye opener.
Hope you liked them, I`ll be back with some more next time.
Love

Oh dear Sandra, no photos are appearing for me, nothing at all, just gaps in your writing. How did you add them?

Not to worry. I had just finished typing my comment, pressed save and then, of course, your journal came up again and there were the pictures. They are truly stunning, breathtaking, thank you so much for sharing. Hope you enjoyed your last week away.

Hi Sandra,
I'm having a long break from journals but came over to see your Canadian photos! It looks so idyllic, my aunt lived in Kelowna, BC all her adult life, I wish I could have gone to see it while she was still alive ~ one day maybe! I suppose after the freezing cold it feels quite tropical here?!! Jeannette xx
What a beautiful country! Did you travel by train from place to place?
love, Angie,xx
p.s. - I'm reading your entries in the wrong order aren't I?
Congratulations on being a guest editor pick. Banff is beautiful, I was there as a teenager and hope to return again some day. :o)
