Oh my goodness, I don`t believe it, AOL has given me an `add entry`....at last! I`ve been trying to post an entry for almost two weeks and there were no edit or add entry buttons all that time.
Anyway, I`m here now so I shall begin. I`ve had a hectic two weeks with the lovely weather we had. Work has been frantic with everyones thoughts turning to their gardens. My garden has been keeping me busy every day after work, what with planting and weeding and generally trying to make it look beautiful! Now I have my greenhouse up and running I have quite a few plants that still need to be planted. My tomato plants are growing really well and I`m hoping for a bumper crop.....well, I`ll be happy with a few if I`m honest, I don`t know much about them but I think I`m doing the right thing...lol! I`ve also become Sandra the Slug Slayer, not exactly Buffy I know but I`ve done too much work to let those slimy creatures eat all my efforts. I`m sure they know I`m coming, armed with salt and a plastic spike, because I don`t see many of them, just the leftovers from their feasts on my dahlias and petunias!
Roman is doing really well, he is getting so tall and so grown up. He never stops talking and at the weekend he was telling all about the garden table and chairs that Kerry bought last week. " It was too big for mummy`s car so they had to take the wrapping off" he told me." "Did it fit then?" I asked " Yes, but I got squashed" he said....he does make me laugh! Sunday was my Danny`s birthday, he`s 31, how did he get that old? He`s my baby! Jim and I bought him a laptop for his birthday as he`s been so helpful to us lately and as he was away on holiday for his thirtieth birthday last year we decided to get him something special a year late. Anyway, on Sunday we all went to Kerry`s and we had a BBQ in her garden. Despite the cold wind we had a lovely time sitting at the new table, even though birthday boy was inside watching football on TV, as unsociable as ever but I still love him...lol!
In the last few weeks I`ve had a bad cold, got rid of it and am suffering from a bad throat again. I`ve had a flare up of arthritis in my hip, knees neck and fingers and a trapped nerve in my shoulder. My shoulder is on the mend but I`m being very careful how I move it, just in case it gets trapped again. When it first happened it was so painful I hardly slept so I don`t fancy going through all that again.
I`ve not read many journals the last fortnight either but have started to catch up again. I just hope my journal is fixed now and I`ll be able to post my own entries also. I did ask the journals editor if there was a problem but he didn`t get back to me, oh well it doesn`t matter now. I do want to catch up with what my journal friends are doing, it seems strange not to know what`s going on.
Anyway, that`s it from me today, so much has happened the last couple of weeks and my mind has gone blank, either it`s a senior moment or I`ve forgotten completely. I think I should`ve taken notes so I could write a better entry. Bye Bye for now and take care all of you. :o0

Welcome back. I wondered where you were!!!.
I love your greenhouse. I want one.!!!
I think if I saw you coming with salt and a spike, I think I would run for the hills too. :)

Sandra, good to hear from you. Roman looks like he's very tall for his age. Sorry to hear about the aches & pains. We all have them I guess. I've been having muscle spasms in the left side of my neck & the top of that shoulder. I need a massage! We had some nice summer weather but today it's pouring rain. That's ok..everything is getting watered. I also put weed & feed on the front lawn the other day, so now that will be watered in. I love your greenhouse. !! Wish there was one in my back yard. Will take care and come back soon. Linda in Washington
Hellooooo Sandra, I had the same problem with an ADD ENTRY button. I thought "I must be losing it. Now how did I do this before?" Yesterday, it finally showed up. So--WE ARE BACK!-- Marlene

Poor you, I know just how it is when absolutely everything hurts! At the moment there's about an hour when I first get up when I feel relatively mobile but after that its back to the parrots et 'em all. Wish the weather would warm up a bit.

So good to see an entry from you Sandra the Slug slayer hahaha! I can not believe how big Roman has gotten. Good luck in your garden and feel better soon.
Kara :)
Your flowers and garden are lovely. I especially like your little green house. That must be so much fun to be able to plant things and have them protected in there.
The most wonderful 'growing' thing I saw was Roman. My goodness, he's such a big boy. Handsome and tall! I know you are so proud of him. Grandsons are awesome!
Hope your arthritis gets under control soon. You're too busy to be achy.
Love, Kathy
I enjoyed your journal today.. the pictures of Roman and your yard are beautiful
Sandra
Good to see an entry from you. I know all about that arthritis. I'm behind on journals also, since I'm in the middle of moving.
Enjoyed reading your entry. Hope your arthritic pain soon goes away. Eileen x

You've had a busy few weeks. It was nice to hear from you again. I hope your throat is now on the mend. ~~Kath~~
i have missed you SO!!!!!!!!
What a GORGEOUS greenhouse! Wow, i love it and the pics of your beautiful flowers. Roman is so handsome and getting so big. I hate to hear of your aches and pains and i am pissed at the journal editor for ignoring you. That is just wrong. AOL better let you write each time you want to because you are an important part of J Land!
XO
I've been away here and there myself lately hon. I love your Greenhouse. Roman has definitely grown since we last heard from you. I've had that problem before with AOL but it would only last for a day or so, never as long as it was for you. The rainy weather seems to be bringing out the slugs in unusual numbers lately. Happy Birthday to your Son!
Skye has just gotten married and is turning 20 this coming June...they grow up so fast and from then on time seems to go forward at break neck speed. (Hugs) Indigo
Hi Sandra ,so nice to see you here again ,AOL playing up once again!!!! Your new green house looks good ,we had one at the other house but left it there when we moved ,we used to grow our own tomatoes and peppers too.We now have one of those little plastic ones just to give the plants abit of a start .Glad Roman is enjoying himself watering the daisies ,good you had a family barb q with it being Dannys birthday .sorry you have bad aches and pains .Bet you will be busy this bank holiday at the garden centre.......love Jeanxx
Hey Sandra !!!!!!!!!
Its good to hear from you again. We had some rather stormy weather yesterday and today it was quite hot and sticky today. I did get my economic stimulus check today and I can't wait to go shopping. I have to say that Roman looks adorable and getting bigger by the minute by the looks of it. I have been working as well and its keeping me busy. I have become something of a green thumb recently which is new for me. I do hope that you are feeling much much much better these days. I do hope that your family members are doing well and I hope that all is well in your neck of the woods. Anywho.....do take care and I shall return to your journal again soon.
Bye

Hello~
I am also trying my best to get back in the swing of posting and reading journals. I personally apologize for not commenting more :(.
Your grandson is the cutest little thing!! I have a 3 year old and she just steals my heart. Even though she isn't "my blood" (she is from my oldest stepson and his wife), to me she is still mine. Since she has 2 Great Grandma's and a 2 Grandma's, we agreed for her to call me Missy Gayla. That's what the little one called me years ago when I was a nanny and it just fits..LOL.
Your garden is just spectacular, not to mention your greenhouse. Sadly enough my tomatoes didn't make it. I'm still working on trying to figure out what happened. With the insects here and the darn heat, it was one of the two. But I tried and it was my first time growing tomatoes and learned so much! Next year will be better :)
I hope you get to feeling better. I've also had the flu kind of thing, but was recenetly told that my blood work and symptoms show that I am going into menaause. ARGHHHHHH! (LOL) I go back to the doc next week. Another adventure to be had in my life: menapause..hee hee.
Big Huggers,
Gayla
That's to bad you had to wait so long to add an entry.
