I thought it would be a good idea to post an entry this evening, the only thing is I`m not sure what to say. never mind, I`m sure I`ll think of some trivial thing to say...lol!
The weather here is a bit on the miserable side. It rained this morning and then started to improve. Then just as I thought I would have a couple of hours gardening, down it came again, this time for the rest of the day. The dahlias in my mini greenhouse are getting really big, infact they will have to be planted outside in the next two weeks or they will be too big for the greenhouse. All my summer bedding plants are doing well so I`m hoping for some really warm settled weather...am I asking for too much I wonder?
I haven`t told you about the mystery of my missing glasses case have I? Well, I lost it at work on Wednesday last week and I searched high and low for it but still couldn`t find it. I remember putting it in the pocket of the body-warmer I wear for work but when itwas time to go home it wasn`t there. I even searched my car just in case I HAD left it there but to no avail. Today, however, I found it sitting by one of the cash registers. It was very wet inside and I can only guess that it was found outside and handed in by a customer, very likely at the weekend because I asked my colleagues if they knew anything about it but they had no idea. So, it remains a mystery but at least i`ve got it back again!
When I was at work I saw a bird that I hadn`t seen before so when I got home I had a look in my bird book but I can`t find it...another mystery I think, I hope I see it again tomorrow and maybe I can note a few more details.
I got paid yesterday, thank goodness AND I got a bit more than usual because I worked the Easter Bank holidays and that it time and a half. Garden centre workers aren`t exactly well paid and it would be nice if I got more but well, I like my job, it`s in a nice environment and it`s not overly stressful. I could leave and get a job with more money but I think I`m far better off where I am. At my time of life, money isn`t everything, not any more. Mind you, I`m going to spend the extra money on plants etc. so the company will get the money back again...lol!
Jim will be home from work soon and I`ll bet he`ll be watching Champions League football, which means I won`t get chance to watch any TV this evening, unless of course I watch it with him....yeh right!....I think I`ll stay online and he can bring me cups of tea to keep me happy...lol!
I`m still finding out a lot of things about the new computer, it seems to have so much more to it than the old one. It certainly comes to something when AOL is reliable and fast, something I didn`t dare hope for before. Also as this one is Windows Vista I can open more than one window at a time, something I`ve not needed to do before but I`m sure I`ll find a time when I do. The only drawback is that I`m spending more time online after promising myself to cut back...which I had until we got this one. So Jim it`s not my fault, you can blame the new `puter...lol!

Good for you that all your plants are coming up so well. Is your greenhouse heated I can't remember. I had a wee one by the door that had a kind of polythene cover but after a couple of years the poly top got all dried and cracked..so I now just use the shelves to show of some plants !! The mint is growing ...so far !! I will re pot it in garden soil when it dries up a bit, very wet today. Love Sybil x
Glad you are having fun with your new computer. Mine is a couple of years old now and starting to slow down, but I well remember how good it was after the really old one! We have had rain today but the evening is quite pleasant now......not that anyone would know as all eyes are firmly on the ManU/Barca game. Eileen x

I saw a new bird myself yesterday when I was feeding the birds. It was singing several different tunes. No it was not a mocking bird. This one was dark gray and smaller and plump looking. I stood right under the tree a few feet away and it was not afraid of me. I hated to come into the house and leave those beautiful notes. I am glad you are enjoying your new computer. Helen

Glad to hear you are enjoying your job and new computer .We bought one of those small plastic covered greenhouses at the weekend ,for little little plants to carry on growing until its safe from frost to plant them out .We have goldfinches that come now since we put out the special feed for them,they are such pretty birds .Have a nice week ....love Jeanxx

And there was me thinking it was Jim's fault coz he's watching the football lol......Strange about your glasses case, did you not leave it by the checkout yourself? Weird!!! I think as your giving the money back to the company they may as well let you work for free ;-) That way they could save themselves some money by processing your wages and you can just get plants to the tune of how much you would get paid lol..............

Some of my Perennials are coming up, however I'm waiting till mid May or later to plant the rest of my flower garden. With the wacky weather I don't want to take a chance. It went from 80 degree days one week, down to 40 in the day and even lower at night, to the point of turning the heat back on.
I'm seriously thinking of investing in having a small greenhouse built. That way I can do a little gardening ahead of time and enjoy the season sooner.
I couldn't agree with you more about at our ages for some reason money doesn't seem to be everything. I think we become more relaxed and beyond needing useless things. (Hugs) Indigo
How are you liking Windows Vista? I've heard such mixed reviews. My husband has it on his laptop and LOVES it. I haven't really played around with his laptop as I just don't like the little keyboard and the mouse.

alot of people are talking about strange unknown birds recently,my dad saw a totally black one with an orangy yellow collar in the tree outside,i couldnt find that in a book at all,keep watching out for it,I think as the climate changes this will become a regular occurance. zoe xxxxxxxxxxxx

So glad about the new computer! Keep me/us updated on how you like Windows Vista ok? I'm waiting for another 3 months or so for them to get all the kinks worked out before I switch over. And, I forgot to say that NOT being about to see the "Add Entry" button on your journal is ridiculous!! I have had that happen and I email the journal editor and he fixed it. Let me know if you want his email ok? Or, you can always try accessing AOL through Internet Explorer. Sometimes that works.
So glad you found our case! You and I and our mysteries...LOL. I'm one of those that just HAS to know the answer to whatever it is: type of bird, type of bug, why and when, or just anything...LOL. But I also have to have my answers from a couple if not more different sources. That's one reason why I love the Internet so much--it's like having a big book! You just have to learn which is nonsense and which is a "true" answer while on the Internet. I took two classes in college on Internet research. Great classes! But much, much harder than I thought they would be...LOL
And I totally agree about the money thing with the job. I could go get a job making more money, but I KNOW I'm going to be happy and want to go to work everyday by working at WM. Plus, I can transfer and move up---its all up to me :)
