After much trouble with AOL this afternoon I finally managed to get online. I`m getting really fed up with the bad service that we are getting from them. Also our telephones have packed up so Jim went out this morning to buy new ones, though we did get BT to check out our line first. As for me I had a hairdressers appointment at 11pm. I usually have it done every 6 weeks but I had to change my day from last Saturday to this. My hair looked more like a haystack than the sleek bob that it`s meant to be. Anyway I emerged from there looking much more presentable than when I went in...lol!
Yesterday and Thursday at work were manic, I was rushed off my feet and went home both days exhausted. But, would I change it? Not for one minute, I enjoy being very busy and in fact I thrive on it and of course the time just flies by. We had a visit from one of the actors from the film set yesterday, I recognised him straight away but I can`t for the life of me remember his name. He was really nice and chatty and was just like any other customer. I would say if anyone had any airs or graces it was the film crew not the cast. The set had almost completely taken over the car park and on Friday when I arrived at work at 8.30am I had to drive around looking for a place to park so I won`t be sorry when they`re gone. When I drove home there was loads of police down the road, at first I thought they were filming but I`m not sure. I didn`t see any cameras there but I did see a young lad who was being held by an officer and he looked really pale, surely even an actor wouldn`t look like that.
When I arrived home I decided to plant the new rose as the weather was so nice. So there she is taking pride of place in a half oak barrel, planted with the right compost and rotted leaf mould, collected specially from the floor of Black Park. I watered it well and if it doesn`t thrive I will want to know why!
This afternoon I was hoping that we could visit Saville Gardens near Windsor but before I could mention it to Jim he said he was going to put some more shelves in a kitchen cupboard for me. It was a toss-up, new shelves or Saville Gardens...hmmm? Saville Gardens will always be there but would Jim`s shelves offer? The shelves won....lol! He`s just shouted upstairs that they are now finished so I can put all the things away that have been taking up space in cupboards. Maybe a visit to the gardens tomorrow if the weather stays fine.
Anyway, my friends. I hope you are all having a nice, restful weekend, Bye Bye and take care. :o)

I would've gone for the shelves too! The gardens will be there tomorrow as you pointed out - hopefully the nice weather will be too.
In England do you have to pay for aol service? I doubt I'd be sticking around if I had problems and had to pay. It's been fairly dependable for us - but, I've heard MANY complain about service here in the states.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Yes I would have gone for the shelves too ,Your work although busy sounds good ,Its best to be busy ,I hated it when time hung ,the day would drag ,and you would be looking for things to do ,quote ''The best way to kill time is to work it to death ''your rose wouldnt dare die after all the tlc for have given it ,have a lovely rest of the weekend ..love Jan xx
(((((((((((((((((HUGSTOYOU))))))))))))Have a nice weekend.
That was nice of the actor to be so friendly in your shop. I think the best one's want to be treated like everyone else. I am glad your new hair style is looking how you wanted it. Don't worry about your age this birthday, as my birthday is in May, and I was born the same year, 1952. Oak barrels look fantastic as planters. I can tell that Jim is hard at work having put up the shelves for kitchen. The weather here is raining and a little bit cold this morning after having our first really warm spring weather on Thursday. The Mulberry Tree in Salty's dogpen crashed down and bent down his fencing during Febs. ice storm. The large limbs still need to be sawed and knocked down and sawed up. The fence is functional now but he has the big limbs taking up space hanging down. Perhaps it will stop raining later today and I can climb up with the ladder and hand saw and get them down. Then take the little chain saw and saw them up. Have a good weekend. mark
Not surprised that the shelves won.......you have to strike while the iron is hot hehehehehe Have a lovely weekend. Eileenx

How fun to see an actor! I'm glad he was friendly and not standoffish like some of them are.
Hope you have a good weekend and are able to go to the gardens.

A nice, newsy entry. Glad you got your hair the way you like it again. I think you chose wisely to accept the offer of the new shelves today. You are right, the Gardens will still be there tomorrow. Good luck with the rose, I'm sure you will make sure it thrives.

Hello Sandra~
I'm starting to feel like you do about AOL. I've been with them for over 5 years now with very little trouble until lately. Yesterday was a dam nightmare!! I got nothing done. And now it seems like everytime I want to add something to my journal, I can't. Especially a video. ARgHHHHHH. They are all so hip on that stupis AIM journaling. I don't like it. I emailed in for some help to majic smoke and got none. Not her department was the response I got.
I guess we put up with it because we all know and love each other or keep on complaining until they get it fixed. I really miss some of the old people that worked at AOL----always fixed things.
Your rose will be beautiful :)
Have a great Sunday,
Gayla
I hope your having a nice Sunday.

Hi Sandra...Good for you i think you made the right choice of getting the shelves done or they might never had been done at all. Thats what i thought when "?" mentioned painting my kitchen, its been in need of work done to it for a long while.

Joyce
Doesn't a new hair cut feel great? I bet you look terrific!
