It`s about time I got into gear and posted an entry. I am getting really lazy these days...lol! It`s really cold here today and its supposed to be getting colder, not much fun seeing as I`m working tomorrow and Easter Monday.....I just hope the great British public decided to visit their local garden centres at the weekend, I really want to be as busy as I have been the last few days.
Actually I have so many aches and pains that I`m like the walking wounded. The old arthritis is playing me up with the joints in my right knee, neck, shoulder and both hands all a bit swollen....bah! I could do without that but I`ll just suffer in silence...lol!
My car is booked into the garage where I bought it from to have the sunroof looked at again . Jim rang them up to see if they could have a look even though he thought there was little chance and to his surprise, not only did they agree but there will be no charge. Actually considering that they sold me the car with a dodgy sunroof, then replaced it and STILL it leaks, they SHOULD do something about it. This time when I take it in on the 25th they have promised me a courtesy car, something they went back on last time to my extreme annoyance. Hopefully, before long I`ll be able to drive my car without having to wear a snorkel and flippers each time it rains...lol!
Kerry, Slava and Roman will be here for dinner on Sunday and they will be staying over until Monday evening. Dan is watching an important football match on Sunday and will be here for dinner on Monday. I am making a Guinness cake courtesy of Nigella Lawson. Its a moist, dark chocolate cake with an even richer white topping made from cream cheese, whipped cream and icing sugar. I`ve made it several times before and everyone loves it. The only drawback is that it contains about 50 billion calories but do I care?....HUH, ask me next week....lol! By the way if anyone want the recipe, please send me an email and I`ll send it your way. It`s not one of those cakes that is too rich at all and its easy to make.
Next week it`s my birthday along with Slava just 3 days later. It`s Jim`s next month and then Dan`s in May...my goodness my baby boy is almost 31...and he`s got the odd grey hair...lol! Today I recieved an invitation to a friend`s sixtieth birthday party in July, that will give me time to think of what present I should by her. What on earth do you buy someone who doesn`t need anything? If I ask her she`ll tell me not to bother so I`ll have to think hard.
I am desperate to get back out in the garden. I`ve noticed even more plants have come back from last year and I want to plan where my summer plants are going to go. I know it`s early but I like to plan ahead. Some of the things I want this year I will have to send away for because we don`t sell them. I am going to buy a black bamboo from work and put it in a large container...I think it can look quite dramatic and I love the sound it makes when its blowing in the wind. Hopefully the garden will be better than last year. I was a bit disappointed with my choice of colours last Summer ( I had mainly white and purple) so I`m going back to my favourite red, orange and yellows as a colour scheme for this year. I`ve bought lots of dahlias and if they all come up I`m hopeful for a lovely display. Let`s hope the weather is better this year though, less rain and lots more sun.
The new neighbours have spoken to us a few times, at least the husband has, I don`t think his wife speaks English. They are very quiet and we`ve never even heard their baby cry at all. It is nice to not have to listen to the dreadful language and fights that went on on the other side of the wall anymore. Peace reigns once again...happy sigh!
Anyway, my friends, thats it from me this evening. I hope you all had a lovely day, take care and Bye Bye for now.

Shame that you have to work. Our garden is waterlogged and it is far too wet and cold to even attempt going out there. We shall have to cut down a lot this year which is why I am bringing more of the garden indoors even if it is artificial! I have been aching all over the last couple of weeks, never been this bad. Wishing you and the family a happy Easter xxxx

Hi Sandra,
Would you please send me that recipe? It sounds really good. I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family. Grandchildren are grand, aren't they? I have rhuemotoid arthritus, so I understand your pain. We are having beautiful weather here in Texas, at least for now. We have also had too much rain.
Thanks in advance for the recipe!
Frances
How are you, Sandra? I know I haven't been around for a while, my PC broke down after 8 yrs, so I bought a Dell, with the help of Santa! LOL
{mom} I made an entry a few weeks ago, and I'd love it if you stopped by and have a peek; love your Easter graphics, they are all very nice;it's been cold here in New Jersey too, and today is the first day of Spring! I have some daffidols and tulips to put in my little garden, but so far it's just been to cold! They will keep on the back porch awhile; I might take the red tulips to the cemetary Sunday when I go to my sons gravesite; I also have had a lot of pain in my hip,
and I just recieved a new mattress and box spring yesterday, with memory foam? I have to admitt, I didn't wake up once during the first night of sleep, adjusting pillows etc! LOL Do you have Sleepy's chain stores in the UK? They are having an Easter sale; when you say, "car is booked in garage", do you mean, parked? LOL love the different words and expressions you guys have; until next time, take care and HAPPY EASTER! ~Diane~

Happy easter...I just popped to a garden centre and it was quite busy!Hope you enjoy your cake Louise x
I hope they'll fix the sunroof properly this time, those snorkels really mess your hair up don't they, although with the weather prediction this Easter you may still need the flippers or a toboggan!! I've never seen a black bamboo but I'm sure you'll have a lot of oppurtunities to hear it in the wind if the last few weeks are anything to go by! Have a lovely Easter and enjoy Roman. Jeannette xx
That cake sounds delicious!! Man...I'd eat the whole thing 50 billion calories and all! LOL!

Wanted to stop by and wish you a wonderful, peaceful holiday dear friend! (Hugs) Indigo
Just as I'd decided to do something about my weight - your offer of a recipe is making me drool. No. no. no. no - I mustn't. Please don't send it. Keep smiling. PS. Hope you've been inside at work this weekend, it's been enough to freeze a brass monkey out there. Take care.
Love Sylvia
I hope work was nice and busy for you! But I am so sorry to hear you have been hurting. Hope your Easter was wonderful.
Kara
I have been pretty lazy too..hope you had a good Easter and a great week! Hugs,TerryAnn
I would love to have your Guinness Cake recipe please, Sandra, if you have a minute. I'm supposed to be sworn off cake but I can make it for Keith can't I?
I was horrified when Keith got to 60 - ME married to somebody that old! He retires next year and I'm looking at 60 myself. Somehow it doesn't seem so old any more!
love, Angie, xx
