Dear Self,
I`ve issued this set of instructions that should be implemented in the New Year. They are not resolutions because I`m not giving you a choice in the matter.
1) You will cease to be a hoarder. All things that you`ve saved `just in case you need them` can be sorted again and the majority can be thrown away. This will be a long, tiring task and you can if you wish enlist the help of others ie: Jim, Kerry, Slava...erm Roman (perhaps not Roman) and just about anyone who is able bodied enough to carry all the old junk...I mean collectables out of the house. You may then need the sevices of a removal van.
2) You will not buy any more jumpers, tops, cardigans, sweatshirts in beige or fawn. I know the colour suits you but for pity`s sake, how many do you need? You don`t wear half of them so they can be bagged up and taken to a charity shop. While carrying out this instruction you might as well go through the rest of your clothes......and your shoes too, some of them haven`t seen the light of day since the 80`s.
3) You will stop spending your money on plants. Do you really need another orchid? Erm....ok then orchids are fine but you don`t need anymore pots, shrubs, garden ornaments, hanging baskets etc. Your garden centre is rich enough without you contributing your hard earned, but very low wages to them.
4) You must stop eating so much. I know you don`t put weight on easily but you should be careful at your age. It can`t be good for you. Chocolate can be eaten once a week but in very small quantities. Cakes once a week also and no more mince pies after Christmas, even if Tesco is selling them at half price.
5) This is a request rather than an instruction. It would be good for you to get off the computer and get a life. I can only hope you see the error of your ways before you become part of the chair you are sitting on at this moment.
6) You will stop looking in the mirror in the hope that the image that confronts you is someone else. It isn`t. It`s you and you will only get worse. Get used to it and move on.
7) You will try to stop telling anyone who will listen how wonderful, handsome, clever, loving, gorgeous, cuddly your grandson Roman is. Only joking, I know when something is impossible.
8) You will stop giving Jake bits of cheese or ham. Have you noticed his waistline lately? The vet will not be happy.
9) You will tidy the computer room ( it`s starting to resemble a junk shop) and throw away anything that isn`t used by either Jim or yourself....including the old monitor, you`ll never use it again.
10) Get rid of Jim`s collection of fishing magazines, they take up too much room. Just don`t tell him.
11) For goodness sake, clean your car...it`s filthy, you can hardly tell what colour it is. Then do it again every month without fail.
12) You will fill in the new pages of your address book. Jim bought them for you two years ago and they are still in the packet. Open it and write on them p-l-e-a-s-e! When you done it throw away the scraps of paper with the new addesses on them.
13) You will be more tolerant of Jim`s fanaticism.....I mean obsession with recycling. Yes I know he does go on a wee bit but it IS for the sake of the environment...and to save being fined by the local authorities.
I think these are enough to be going on with but rest assured if these are not carried out, action will be taken.
Yours Faithfully
Sandra Scribbles

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so funny....truly funny. We should all do this with our own added stuff.
You should take pics of the 80's clothes if you get rid of them. I'd love to see them. Roman is a living doll..PLEASE brag.
love, lisa
That is some list, I wonder if you will actually carry them out. Well, getting rid of beige might be a good idea, as for cutting down on the computer, we do not want to lose you. Some of the other things sound like reasonable ideas. As for me, I am not making any resolutions because I never keep them. All I would like is a much better year. xxxxxx
LOL Believe it or not, over half of those fit me perfectly! LOL
Hugs,
Sugar

That is a pretty big list. I need to do a lot of those myself. Keep on showing pictures and telling us about Roman though. Helen
LOL I could take this list and apply it to myself!! Especially about the address book! If I just pick it up all of these little papers fall out with various addresses I've collected. Now the pages are too full to write anymore.
Hey...I could ask for an address book for Xmas!!
Do NOT however, stop bragging on Roman. He's a dolly, and I love to see his pictures because he IS cute, adorable, wonderful, handsome, clever, loving, gorgeous, and loving. So...scratch that one right off the list now!!
As far as number 6....well....when you figure out how to do that let ME know, ok??
Have a good day.
Pam
I think we should all make up lists like that and post them! Enjoy your Thursday.
Missie
Repost every month or so, Sandra...
I think a lot of us could go by this list, I had to laugh when I saw the one about clothes. I finally broke this habit when I quit working. I think I have enough to last the rest of my life and gave a whole bunch away. Good luck, I'll be pulling for you. Joni
What a fantastic list ,I could print that for myself ,especially the beige and the fishing mags ,lol I wont tell if you dont ...love Jan xx
This is fantastic, Sandra. I think I will adopt some of these myself. Chocolate, though, really does deserve to appear in your diet more than once a week. One must live. ~Mary
Sandra are you sure the list was for you? Cos if I did not know better it should have been addressed to me, lol!! As the saying goes 'if the cap fits' LOL!! Yes that could definitely be a list to me as 90% is me.....not the fishing etc as Rob does not fish but everything else!!! love Joan
This is great Sandra...and it fits me to a teeeeee! LOL
Have a great weekend...love and hugs,
Joyce
Is all that for you or me? LOL It all sounds like something that I need to do or not do (except for the part about Jake) too. Linda in Washington state
Love your list!

Your list would be just right for many of us in J-Land. I loved it, and wish you luck in carrying it out. However, while I hope you get out more, I don't want you totally out of that chair. Getting a life is fine but there can be balance and posting in our lives. I hope! LOL!

Add another line to that list hon:
14) I will remember not to be so hard on myself and take more "me" time that I so richly deserve.
I always look in the mirror and see the years that have been etched on the continuing work of me. After all I'm not done yet? are you? (Hugs) Indigo
At first I was laughing at this but some of these things seem a bit harsh!! Such as: getting off the computer. If you did that we would miss you ;-) You wouldn't do that to your friends would ya??

Oh Sandra I can relate to many of your 'instructions' ! The main one is I HAVE to clear the old 'treasure' out of the house and in particular the loft that is stacked with boxes and boxes full of heavens knows what !! The next is accept the person looking back from the mirror isnt my aged relative.....its ME!!! Good luck with your instructions ! Happy Xmas and all the best for 2008 Eve
Last year I made a list like this. Unfortunately I forget to look at it too often, therefor I forget to do too much of it, LOL.
