A Lovely Surprise

 

Well would you believe it. Guess what I discovered when I got home from work this afternoon? A brand new microwave oven, sitting in the place of the old, smelly, fish-ingrained one that I disposed of. Jim met me for lunch with Roman and he told me all about what he got up to this morning but he omitted to tell me about the oven and I was absolutely delighted when I saw it. It`s similar in colour (silver) to the old one but the door has a mirror effect and looks much sleeker....never mind if it works or not it looks great....lol!  Kath left a comment on my journal after the fishy entry and I sent it to Jim. He certainly got the message....thanks Kath!

After a fruitless weekend of calling the garage and getting no reply, Jim got through on Monday morning and the salesman immediately agreed to have my car sunroof repaired. Jim was put through to the service dept. where he was given this Friday as the day they can do the job. Unfortunately that would leave me car-less and they have no courtesy cars (they said!) so I have to wait until Friday week when Jim has the day off work. At first the service dept told Jim the cost would be £90 per hour labour charges....Jim told them to think again and said that it won`t cost us anything as we`ve only had the car a month...he was not best pleased. The service chap back tracked and told Jim that they wouldn`t charge after all. Jim told him they`d better not! I can`t wait for it to be repaired as I`m fed up with having to cover the car up at night and again when I get to work, some people are giving me very strange looks...lol!

Well the stock take is over and am I glad, mainly because all I`ve been able to do is watch the till while everyone else is busy counting everything. I thought I`d be really busy but instead I`ve been really bored. I couldn`t even tidy up and that would mean moving things to different zones and that`s not allowed while the counting was going on. Hopefully tomorrow it`ll be business as usual and I`ll be busy again....I can`t stand doing nothing.

Kerry and Slava have heard from their solicitor that they could be completing the buying of their house next week.  Hopefully soon it will be all systems go for them and us. I`ll be taking some holiday so I can help Kerry clean the place up to a decent standard before they move in, there is some serious cleaning to be done which I will really enjoy. It`ll be really nice to see what lies under the layers of grease in the kitchen.....a modern white fitted kitchen is somewhere under there!
