Still Waiting.......

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  The weather is nice and sunny at the moment but apparently it`s not supposed to last......nothing new there then! I had a lovely lie-in this morning but as is always the case I find I`m in the rush getting the housework finished before the afternoon but I did get finished sooner than expected so I could spend some time in the garden. I`ve pruned all the roses except one. The red climber doesn`t need anything done to it at all so I`ll have to see if anything needs doing come Spring. One of them looked really straggly so I`ve pruned it right back, it should grow into a better shape now and another one I have redirected along garden wire and should look much tidier than it does now. After I`d done that I cleared everything away and come back inside as there isn`t much to do out there now, just a few bits of summer bedding to pull up once it`s stopped flowering, I still have a basket of petunias that are showing no sign of dying off!

As I told you my car went into the garage yesterday to have the sunroof fixed.....oh dear, what a fiasco that was. We arrived there eventually, the traffic was horrendous yesterday morning and I thought I`d be late for work despite leaving 45 minutes early. Once there they told me that they were going to INVESTIGATE it to see if there was a leak.  Jim said there was nothing to investigate and there was a very bad leak..."we have to investigate" said the boy of about 12 at the service desk. Later in the afternoon Jim rang them to see if we could collect the car...."we rang you at 1.50 but you didn`t answer the phone"...."No you didn`t," said Jim "we were home then and the phone didn`t ring"......"yes we did"     "no you didn`t"   and so it went on!  Eventually they agreed to differ and we went to collect a car that stilled leaked. It needs a new sunroof as the present one has a bent frame and the whole thing has to be replaced. It should arrive by next friday and is booked in for Monday 22nd when the work should be completed without charge.....I should think so too, I`ve become quite the expert at covering my roof at night so not a drop gets through the sunroof....sigh.

This afternoon we`re looking after Roman while his daddy goes to a company dinner and Kerry is at work. They gave me a lovely box of chocolates for my trouble, which they didn`t have to do but it was very sweet of them. Earlier I gave Danny a playful slap and Roman burst into tears and was really upset with me. "Don`t slap Danny!" he said between sobs. " Oh darling are you cross with me?" says I " Yes Nana, cross!" he said. I had to give Danny a big cuddle  to convince Roman there wasn`t a problem and he cheered up completely after that. "Better not slap me again Mother" says Dan, "Just wait until later says I!"  lol!

Anyway, that`s it for today my friends. For those of you who watch Strictly Come Dancing it`s the turn of the ladies this evening, should be good! :o)

Sorry about your car problems Sandra, let us hope we do not get any heavy rain between now and when it is fixed.  Lol at Roman, tots says the nicest things don't they?  Posted bathroom pics, the you-know-what will be going where the cactus plant is now, over the toilet, it will look great.  Love to you all and big hugs xxxxxx

Don't you just love it when the car repair people think you don't know what you're talking about?  And then to argue with you...my repair shop has a satisfaction form to fill out & mail in after I take my car in...I wonder if yours does? The people at my place are always nice but if I had a problem, I'd let them know.  I'm going to wait a little longer to prune my roses.  They are still blooming & with the 60 degree weather we're having they could get new shoots.  I usually prune once they are really dormant in December. Have a wonderful weekend.  Linda in Washington state

I hate it when someone says they called and they didn't...makes me so mad too.  Hope the sunroof...once the new one is replaced, things will be resolved.  Ahhhh, that was so cute about Roman and your little slap to Danny.  Kids see things that we don't, that is what's beautiful about all of them.  Have a beautiful Sunday..enjoy your show.
Hugs and love,
Joyce

I hate it when people say they called and didn't. I don't think caller ID would show a lie about who called and who didn't. Poor Roman getting upset about a playful slap. Hope you get that car roof repaired before another big rain. Oh, by the way you are welcome to direct some of that rain over this way. Helen

Glad you are getting your roof fixed FOC before the winter sets in. Kids and dogs can react so strangely when you give someone a playful slap. Have a good weekend. Love Joan.

Hello Sandra, you've done well with your garden pruning.  I hate having to do that in the autumn when there's still flowers and buds on the plants, still it looks so much neater and tidier afterwards.  Poor Roman having to witness his uncle getting a slap!  He sounds a sensitive little boy, you'll have to watch what you say and do in front of him now!

I hope your car gets fixed properly. Poor little Roman getting so upset like that. My son was like that. He'd get upset over stuff like that. We had to be careful even about our tone of voice sometimes.
Have a good day..

Yeah I can't believe those car people either, I think my husband would have lost it by now.  Plus the way you were treated at the front desk.  I hope you have no more trouble.  Roman sounds like a real sweeties, very sensitive.  You are so lucky to get to see him so much.  Joni

Hello,
I hope they get that darn car fixed for you soon. I swear there truly is nothing worse (I'm sure there are worse things...lol) than having to take your car either to the car shop or even worse the DEALERSHIP! Double ARGHHHHHH! I'm so glad that we don't have to deal with that anymore...lol.

Wasn't Strictly good? I thought Kate would go but she got the sympathy vote. I think that is fair as she was brave to dance at all. I am glad Letitia made it as she has potential I feel and I love Darren! Best prog on tv at the moment and really lifts the soul. My pain disappears when I am immersed in Strictly!! Love Conniexx
