Hello Everyone,
I hope you`ve all had a great weekend and are getting prepared for Christmas. It`s been the busiest of weekends here, especially as I have our son and heir living back with us. Everything seems to be going smoothly with only a few minor irritations at the moment! Yesterday I found the time to get my hair done and not before time too, I was starting to resemble a shaggy dog with my fringe covering my eyes no matter what I tried to do with it. Now my grey roots have disappeared and I can see where I`m going again...lol!
Work has been quite brisk with more and more customers buying their Christmas tree, lights and decorations. This weekend is supposed to be the busiest two days of the season, thank goodness I only work weekdays and I don`t have to deal with the rush. Like I said before this weekend has been really hectic. After the hairdresser I came home and decorated the Christmas tree and the living room. Then I did some more housework and prepared myself for Roman who was coming to stay for the night. Kerry and Slava went to his company dinner dance that went on very late so it was decided that we should have him overnight, especially as Kerry has a bad case of lanryngitis and is feeling quite poorly at the moment and just lately the little darling has been complaining loudly about bedtime so I knew it would be a challenge, and it certainly was as it turned out. Danny cooked dinner for us which was lovely of him and saved me another job. Roman had already eaten but he still helped us finish our dinner as he loves his food and anyone else too, you`d think he`d never been fed...lol!
By 9pm Little Man was really tired and could barely stay awake so I scooped him up and took him to bed. But he didn`t come quietly, the darling little boy soon turned into Chuckie and started to howl in protest...very loudly indeed, in fact it soon esculated into a temper tantrum that could probably be heard in the next town...ok I exaggerated a bit but he was very, very loud! I decided that he could yell and scream all he wanted but he was staying in bed. One sign of weakness and I was finished. It worked too, less than five minutes later he was sleeping like the proverbial baby, though Danny has told me he snores like a drain and kept him awake most of the night...lol!
This morning I woke to find I`d overslept by an hour. I wanted to get up at 7.30 so I could give Roman his breakfast, bath him and get him ready for his Mum to collect for 10. Jim and I had planned on going to Uxbridge shopping for MY Christmas present and as the shops open there at 11 today we wanted to get there early so we could find somewhere to park. Anyway, as it happened Roman was as good as gold and it took no time at all to get him ready. Why wasn`t he like that last night? Kerry collected him at 10 and we left just after and found our parking space with no problem at all. We enjoyed a nice day together even though my pressie will have to wait for another day. I`m looking for a pair of brown leather boots but I just couldn`t find a pair I liked. When I eventually did they didn`t have my size, oh well, that`s always the way isn`t it? The assistant wrote down the product number so I can ask at the local branch of the shop if they have them in stock, that`s what I call good customer service. We did manage to buy a few more gifts even though we said we won`t spend anymore money, it seems all good intentions have been put aside again!
Anyway after our days shopping we relaxed in front of the TV and watched the DVD `Walk The Line` with Joaqiun Phoenix and Reece Witherspoon. A thoroughly enjoyable film if I may say so. Now of course I`m here online and about to finish off my journal entry. I just want to say, have a lovely evening and I hope you`re all nice and cosy indoors with the heating turned up. Take care my friends and Night Night. :o)

Lovely to have Roman stay over ,these are such precious times Sandra ,and when he's as old as some of my Grandsons you can embarass him with some off these storys lol ,but be prepared to be teased back lol ,Have a good week ...love Jan xx
Sounds busy at your house...and Roman sounded really loud, according to you...but the Grandmother instinct in you kicked in...let them scream...been there, done that...it works. They are just tired, that's usually all it is. I hope Kerry gets her voice back soon. Danny is really helping out a lot. You are so lucky not to work weekends...hope you can get photos of your tree and decorations..
How's Jake doing...hope he is well...
Got to run...have a great Monday...hugs and love,
Joyce
Haaaa!! Had to chuckle at the tantrum,I used to hate having to leave the Grandchildren to cry themselves to sleep.afraid I always softened,as I loved nurseing and singing them to sleep better LOL!! Sorry you didn't get your boots, usualy the popular sizes have all been snapped up so near Christmas I must say, though I do hope you find some you like.Hope your daughter and hubby enjoyed the company dinner etc.Glad you got your hair done that makes one feel much better doesn't it now?
I went to the local garden centre this weekend and it was heaving.Enjoyed it though.Bought a couple of gifts too, which I didn't mean to LOL!! added extra's for two lucky people, but couldn't resist them.Have a nice Sunday evening and a good forthcoming week.Take Care.

Roman sounds like he's seeing how far he can push you all at bedtime! He'll grow out of it soon, mine did the same! Glad you had a good time shpping, hope you can get the boots you want. Jeannette xx http://beta.journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
I can imagine how pleased you are not to be working weekends. I would be so tempted with all the decorations and the lights and would love to fill my home with houseplants which I adore.
Lol at Roman turning into Chuckie, we have had that a few times with both of them. We are looking after them both on Wednesday evening when B and D go off to Dean's work dance. We have inflatable beds but I do not think they are staying the night. Becky would be lost without them. It will certainly be different. I have bought some new things for them to play with and a couple of DVDs for them to watch so hopefully all will be well.
Try not to spend any more money, that defeats the object of working.

I hear you about tantrums though our grands are just out of that phase. Kenzie,3-the youngest starts telling us it's close to bedtime as soon as the sun goes down. LOL NEVER puts up a fuss about going to bed.Sound like you are all ready for the Holiday. I best get off here and get to bed and start the day all over again tomorrow. Maybe I can get something done then. LOL
Holiday hugs to you all, Barb
Hope Roman's tantrums don't last to long. Glad you are geting all your shopping done. Love Joan.

Hi Sandra, Little Roman was probably overly tired is all. Just blowing off steam until he tired himself out enough to sleep. Bless. We made the mistake of going to Tesco's yesterday. We came home with all sorts of things that we could have done without!
Love,
susie

I enjoyed the movie, Walk the Line, too. I didn't expect to but was happily surprised. Your little man sounds like he's growing up so fast. I bet he's going to LOVE Christmas this year. I can't wait to hear all about it. Good luck finding your boots! I'm sure you'll find just the right ones!
Hugs, Kathy
It is always good to read your journal, even though I am unable to reach you as much as I would like to, and I am pleased that you were able to spend time with your family.
By for now,
John.

Little man lost! Very wise to let him scream it out!
He is growing so fast!
I always love your Roman stories! Even the ones where he's yelling! LOL!
