A Dark and Blustery Day

Hello Everyone,

Just popping in for a moment. I`ve no idea why I chose a moon tag to start this entry, the moon is the last thing I can see outside my window on this dark and miserable night. Actually I had to put the lights on at 2.25 this afternoon as it was getting to dark to see properly. Then it started to rain heavily and has continued to do so for the rest of the day. The winds that were forecast are here but probably not as bad as in some parts of the country. It`s a horrible night however and I`m glad I`m not going out anywhere, so I can spend some time here on the PC as there`s nobody home until Jim finishes work at 9pm.

I spent all morning doing some long overdue housework. I cleaned and conditioned the leather suite which is hard work I can tell you, covered some scratches and re-polished my beloved coffee table, emptied the fridge of it`s contents and cleaned and tidied it and stripped the beds and put clean covers on them. Then I had to do all the usual cleaning, polishing and vacuuming...But hey ho! it`s all in a day`s work for this gal...lol! Tomorrow Jim is going up into the loft for the Christmas decorations boxes. On Tuesday I shall be packing them away for another year and good riddance too, I want to get my house back to normal.

Also today we had the first refuse collection since Christmas and not before time either, the wheelie bin was overflowing despite Jim taking bags of rubbish to the dump on Boxing Day. It`s amazing how much junk we have over the holiday period. What a throw away society we are, no wonder we have so many environmental problems all around us.

I rang Kerry this morning and she says that Roman is much better today though he`s still not eating properly. At least his temperature has lowered and that`s the most important thing. It`s awful when he is so unwell because he doesn`t understand but let`s hope he`s on the mend and will be back on top form very soon.

Well that`s it from me this evening. Have a good weekend everyone and take care. :o)

I could not believe how black it got here never seen it that dark at that time of the day.  We have high winds also and I hope they do not get any worse.  Bins emptied.  You are honoured.  We never have a Saturday collection in this area. Monday to Friday only.  So glad that Roman is on the mend, the appetite is the last thing to come back. Never got around to starting taking anything down today but will start soon.

I am very pleased that the little boy is much better.

Removing the Christmas things on Tuesday sounds like a good idea.  My wife said she was going to make a start on putting our Christmas tree things in boxes but, at the same time, I will be somewhere else and I think that she will be pleased that I am out of the way.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful New Year.

By for now,

John.

Its dark and dreary here today also... it seems on days like this we have to have the lights on all day... its so nice to have all that house work done.... I better get at it too.... I usually wait until the decorations are all put away before I start that .... I bet you are happy tonight and can just sit and relax knowing you did a good days work. Sandra

The weather sounds scary almost!  I'm glad you got all your housework caught up.  It's amazing how it piles up isn't it? Hope Roman feels better.  I remember when my son would be sick, the doc told me as long as he's drinking then not to worry about food so much.  So we did...and he's still here.  Guess we did something right, huh? But, I know it's scary when they don't want to eat.
Enjoy your quiet stormy night.

It was black as night here at 2:30pm too! It rained all afternoon but thankfully stopped when I went out to see Andy. I didn'thave any decorations up this year, only the tree that I threw out on Christmas Day, I don't like decorations now, too much hard work putting them up and taking them down! I'm glad Roman's on the mend. Have a very happy new year! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

Sounds as if you have been a busy lady today. I am glad that Roman is feeling a lot better. Maybe he will be back to his sunny self in a few days. I haven't got all my Christmas things put away yet. Just been lazing around this last week. Hugs, Helen

It's in the 30's and snowing lightly here in West Texas.  It won't amount to much more than likely.  I'm staying in by the fire this evening, thank you.  I know what you mean by wanting your house back to normal.  We were going to ''undecorate'' today but our boxes were out in the storage shed and the weather was so dark and damp and dreary that everyone in the house napped for a couple hours. LOL
Sounds like quite a rain where you're at.  Stay warm & dry. Have a good weekend!

i have Roman in my prayers and my thoughts. It can be amazing how much trash we all have at the holidays, huh? We have recycled for yrs and if we have alot of trash i get upset about it.
Oh, speaking of the fridge.......we have 2 refridgerators at work and i just had a meltdown last night because people that i work with are so dirty...there is food in there from weeks ago and soda has spilled all over the place and no one cleaned it and there is open containers of all kinds of food in there too. GROSS.

Oh Sandra, our bins were emptied the day after Boxing Day.  But it was just the recycle stuff.  Our smelly stuff is still sitting out there for this week.  I can't put anything else out there.  So glad to know that Roman is on the mend.  Kids sure heal quickly, don't they?  Bless.

Love,
Susie
