Who Nicked The Sausages?

Hello everyone,

I`m late with this entry this evening, I didn`t think I`d get here at all.  I`ll give you a quick breakdown of my latest news.

This afternoon Marshall finally went home, in disgrace I might add.  Yesterday he did the unthinkable and stole the sausages I was going to cook for our dinner.  I had just put them in the tin, covered them over and pushed them to the back of the worktop out of harms way, or so I thought.  I went back to the kitchen just two minutes later to find the tin on the floor and the sausages gone...I couldn`t believe it and rushed to tell Jim.  Of course we both howled wih laughter...well what else could we do?  Apart from having to have something else for dinner!  Anyway, Jake now has some peace, I have my kitchen back as it was with a nice clean floor and absolutely NO pongy doggy smell or handfuls of long fluffy hair.  Just Jake`s short black fur and the faintest whiff of labrador......and sausages that can be left without the fear that they will disappear before we get the chance to eat them...lol!

Work is still going really well, apart from the odd miserable customer, though I won`t let them get to me like they did at first.  Some people were born to complain, at least that`s what I think.  The work itself is quite interesting, I enjoy keeping the shop clean and tidy because I have a thing about neatness and am constantly cleaning up after customers who can`t be bothered to put things back where they belong.  The people I work with are a really friendly lot and have made me feel really welcome.  We have a good laugh together when we`re not busy which helps pass the time when we`re not busy.  I`ve really learnt alot about plants already and I`m reading some of the many reference books that are kept under the desk of the cash register, before long I`ll have really green fingers, along with my now rather black, nails...lol!

Yesterday was my MIL`s 86th birthday and the nursing home provided a cake and a little celebration for her.  Jim said that the staff all sang Happy Birthday to her and generally made a fuss of her.  He said it was lovely but sad because she didn`t know anything about her special day, but he`s grateful that she is treated the same as anyone else, quite rightly too.

Well that`s it from me tonight.  I`d better go and read some journals before I have to go to bed.  I hope you`ve all had a lovely day. Cheerio for now. :o)

That made me laugh too, poor you losing your dinner.  Our cats used to break into the fridge, they could open it with their paws if they got onto the worktop.  We started to sellotape it shut but they bit through it and in the end we had to resort to a child lock!!  Glad to see you are still enjoying the job.  Terry

Oh, Marshall!  You bad doggie.  LOL  I hope he didn't get sick eating uncooked sausage - perhaps it would serve him right.  Jake is probably happy to be sole King of the castle again.  So glad your job is going well.  You're right about the cranky customer.  Some are just not going to be pleased no matter what!  Perhaps you could take some pictures of your shop sometime so we can see where you work.
Hugs,  Kathy

I had to laugh at the Sausages being nicked ~ I bet you will miss Marshall now that he has gone home ~ The pictures of you Mum in Law are lovely and it is nice to know that nurses take care of her and celebrate her special day ~ The one of Roman is so cute ~ he is such a handsome little chap ~  Glad the job is going well and you are enjoying it ~ Hope the nice customers outweigh the miserable ones ~ can't imagine anyone being miserable in a Garden Centre with all the beauty there is there ~ Ally

Naughty, naughty Marshall!  He reminds me of that Marley that is so famous now.  You must tell what you had for supper since the sausages were nicked.  I found Willow licking the empty can of beans last night!  What is it with pets and people food?  LOL

You are blessed that you found a home for you MIL that takes such good care of her.  I loved that cake.  I bet it tasted as good as it looked!

Marshall sounds to be a real character. Our spaniel stole mince and frying steak on day and was then sick all over the garden where I had put him in disgrace. But we still love them and in Thor's case still miss him. LOve Joan.

Oh I agree, some people were born to complain.  I am so far behind on your journal...I have no idea who Marshall is but I'm off to figure it out.

Hello again Sandra,
Good to be back reading your journal after my house move.My journal is now back public.I was real happy to read you got the job at the garden centre.Well done.A job I would have loved in my younger days.Being an avid gardener then.Seems Roman loves the playground now he has found his feet.He is so cute.Tickled me pink over the sausages vanishing LOL!! and what a lovely kind deed to celebrate your MIL birthday with a lovely cake for her..What an achievment 86 yrs old.I  lost an aunt  not long back now, who I visited every day, still in her own home, doing everything herself, at 93 she was an inspiration.Glad the nursing home are kind to her. They deserve respect and good care old people do.Well Take care.Sorry my journal went private whilst I moved.hope I am soon back to normal, and people will still visit my journal.
Hugs to Roman he is lovely.
