Wellington Country Park ~ Photo Entry

Hello Everyone,

Just a brief entry today.  Yesterday we went to Wellington Country Park at Stratfield Saye on the other side of Reading.  The park belongs to the Duke of Wellington and is a marvellous place for both families and nature lovers.  It has a large lake that is well stocked with fish, there are lots of play areas for young and older children.  There is a petting zoo, a miniature railway and so much else.  Nature lovers will find several types of deer, though they are quite shy.  Many different birds, though they must have been hiding yesterday because much as I tried I only saw two on the Bird Trail that we went on...lol!  One part of the wood is called the Enchanted Forest and it goes around one side of the lake.  Every fifty yards or so there is a play area and at one point there is a Tyranasaurus(?) Rex poking his head out of the trees! We were there for 4 hours but would have stayed longer if the park hadn`t closed.  All in all we had a great day out, it was even better that Jim and I were able to spend the day with Kerry and Slava, and of course Roman, who was in his element.  He`s such a confident little boy now and he loves swings, slides, seesaws etc.  I hope you have time to look at the photos I took,  then you`ll see for yourselves what a fun time we had.  Bye Bye for now. :o)

Your photos show what a lovely place the country park is. We are surrounded by them plus two forests where I live. Win and I do not make as much use of them as we should. Perhaps I will visit one of the forests when the leaves have turned colour and take some pictures. Dan.

The park is wonderfull!  We do not have lovely parks like that in AZ.  Although AZ does have some beautfiul desert wild flowers that bloom in the spring!  You live in a lovely place! Maybe sometime you all can visit AZ!  Roman is getting so big!  It is so much fun when they start enjoying the park!
