Hello everyone,
I`ve made it here at last. AOL have been giving me a really hard time since early yesterday evening, not allowing me access to anything, not my journal or anyone else`s. I kept getting the message that my emails weren`t available so in the end I gave up and logged off. Even this morning it took me ages to get online and just now four attempts to open my journal...grrr!
I`ve finished reading `Marley and Me` and I have to tell you that the last two chapters were really hard to read, I could hardly see the words for my tears as I read of Marley`s slow but steady decline. The book has everything, humour, happiness, embarrassment, sadness, but most of all a deep love between master and dog. If you are a dog lover, Marley and Me is a must, and as I`ve said before, the author John Grogan is an American so it is available in the States. I promise you won`t be disappointed but you will not be dry-eyed at the end.
It`s really hot again today which means the plants needed watering and I was sorely tempted to use the hosepipe despite there being a ban, but I decided against it as the thought of a huge fine was much worse than the continous lugging around of watering cans. I`m really hoping that this coming Winter will be wet enough to replenish our reservoirs so this doesn`t happen next year. Oh yes, and that the Water Board will get their act together and do something about the water THEY are losing for us and then upping the water rates......flamin` cheek!
Yesterday I went to Teddies Club with Kerry and Roman in the morning and had great fun with Roman and some of the other babies there. One little boy, who is just a bit younger than Roman took a liking to the diamante clasp on my slip on sandals and decided that it was more fun to play with that than the toys provided. Another little girl took a shine to my handbag and kept disappearing under my chair trying to reach it. I love to watch the little angels, they are so sweet and innocent at that age. I hope their Mums appreciate every moment of their babyhood because it goes by in the blink of an eye. It seems only yesterday that my two were babies......sigh.
Yesterday afternoon I went to Uxbridge with Kerry purely for something to do. It is always nice to go there because it has a good shopping centre and High Street, not to crowded but with plenty going on, much nicer than our home town of Slough, which is in decline since Tesco`s opened it`s giant super-dooper store. We just pottered about and I found a nice little sleeveless T-shirt for Roman for only £2, I`m afraid I just can`t resist buying things for him whenever I`m out, even if it`s just something small...I`ll never get rich at this rate....lol! We ended up in our favourite coffee shop BB`s and each had an iced cappuchino that was absolutely delicious.
Anyway my friends, I`m going to say goodbye now and try to read some journals...if AOL will let me that is. If I haven`t commented on your journal in the last couple of days I do apologise but please blame AOL not me...I have only the best intentions...lol! I hope you`ve all had a lovely day, take good care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

Lovely to get your journal Sandra, its very disheartening getting the blue page all the time isnt it ?,I wonder what they are fixing /adding now ...I would enjoy the teddy club and like you say, I do hope they appreciate these special days ,they are gone so quickly..happy watering ...Jan xx
Hi Sandra, AOL has been giving problems here the last three days also. I can imagine fun you had with the children. I don't know if I would want to read that book or not if it makes you cry. LOL. I see now why all of you are using watering cans to water your flowers. Hope next year will be a wetter year for you. Hugs, Helen
It was so frustrating last night trying to get onto journals when I managed to pry my email alerts from AOL's sticky little mitts! Our chef at work said he emailed me last night, that one never turned up at all! Glad you enjoyed the Teddies Club! I hope it'll rain for you in the night and save all those journeys with the watering can. Jeannette xx
Welcome back. I've read a lot of journals complaining about the same AOL problems. It is frustrating!!! Your day with Kerry and Roman sounds like so much fun! I enjoy watching babies at play, too. They are just so cute! I really like the graphics you have today. The animation is great. Kathy
My great nephew is 2 now. We still buy him little things but we have bought a piggy bank. Now when we get the urge to splurge on him, we put the money in the bank. That way, we are doing something for him but this will go towards his college!
Once again, I love your graphics Sandra...I have to figure all that out one day soon. Linda in WA
Hi Sandra we have all had those problems with aol it can get very frustrating ~ Marley and Me sounds a really good read ~ even if it has a sad ending ~ you really are getting into the Teddies Club and the children seem to have taken a shine to you ~ perhaps you should think about opening a club of your own lol ~ Hope you get some rain so you don't have to carry all those watering cans (One at a time of course) love your graphics especially the "Gremlins" very appropriate ~ Ally
Like you Sandra I enjoyed the childrens play clubs ,now I'm at school with the children at lunch times ,I love being with the little ones.
I also keep watering it doesn't take long to dry out ,the grass looks very sad, never mind we waited so long for some sunshine........Jeanxx
Sounds like you had a nice day...I loved iced coffee!! It's so yummy! But saying that, I love coffee in any form. I even drink it when I've left it so long it's gone stone cold and is at that bitter stage!
