Friday Things

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a nice sunny Friday evening.  It`s brightened up somewhat after a cooler, rainy day here in Slough.  It`s still very warm though despite the change in weather.  We desperately need the rain and it saves me from watering the garden and my countless tubs and window boxes, I`m sure my arms are getting longer from all that carrying!

This morning I went shopping in town with Kerry and Roman, she took Slava`s car as her`s in no longer insured and she is waiting for the Insurance company to come and collect it.  She`s not very happy at the moment because she can`t buy a new car until the company settle her claim, they did tell her that it would be settled within `days`......yeah right!  That was over a week ago now and not a word from them.  Kerry said she`ll call them first thing on Monday morning to see what`s going on.  But I digress, we went shopping like I said and just pottered about really, all I bought was some food for my new climbing rose and a pair of beaded flip flops for £3 in Primark, very smart they are too.  Kerry bought a safety gate to keep Roman out of the kitchen, it`s the one place he keeps trying to get into and Kerry doesn`t want him there for obvious reasons.  Kerry and Slava are looking for another, larger flat so Roman will have his own bedroom and hope to move next month.  Roman is taking the place over with his toys etc. and they need a lot more space.

Jim is finishing his week at work tonight and has two days off before he goes back on the early shift.  Hopefully we`ll have two days in the garden getting rid of the weeds and planting my new climbing rose.  It has several flower buds and when they bloom I`ll get some photos of it.  Now it`s been fed I`mexpecting some real beauties from it and it had better not let me down...lol!  Marshal went home the other day and Jake seemed sorry to see him go, he has been rather quiet since then but I`m sure he`ll get over it.  Marshal`s owner M has told us that her Dad is still very ill and she doesn`t yet know what the outcome may be.  He`s a very nice man and I think it`s very sad.  My thoughts are with M, her Mum and the rest of her family and I hope her Dad makes a full recovery.

Yesterday evening I didn`t get to read many journals as AOL decided to crash on me and wouldn`t let me back online again.  I did try, over and over again but eventually I gave up and played Bookworm instead.  I don`t know if this was widespread or if it was just me but it was really annoying.  Considering that I haven`t had too many problems with AOL of late, just this one was bad enough and it better not happen agian in a hurry...grrr!

Well that`s it for now, not much of interest has been happening around here so I won`t keep you.  I do hope you all have a lovely day today and a great weekend.  Take care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

As those little guys grow, they cover more and more territory.  And the kitchen can be a very dangerous place, as can be the bathroom.  I started keeping the toilet lid down when my son started toddling about. I didn't want him playing in it and I've heard of little ones going in head first and drowning. That would be awful. We could use some rain, too.  It's been cool this last week but dry.   Linda in WA

AOL are always cutting me off but a couple of nights ago my entire computer turned itself off as I was reading journals and it wouldn't turn on again for nearly half an hour then it did the same again and when I got it back on it said I had to click to go to the last good configuration of windows! I was lucky not to lose a lot of stuff! It's a lot cooler here now although we've had no rain for ages! Have a great weekend! Jeannette xx

I sure hope Kerry can soon get herself another car soon. Also hope they can find a larger place to live soon. Looking forward to seeing your new rose blooms. Poor Jake losing his playmate. Guess he is ready for a rest. LOL. Hope you have a good weekend. Helen

I think its sweet that Roman is taking over the house with his toys, lol. he is such a doll.
I hope the people take care of Kerrys car too!

Roman and the gate is a great idea...you would not believe all the gates I collected over the years from each of my grandkids....hope Kerry someday can get a new car...that would be the best...insurance companies are so slow at times...Jim sounds busy...and you ...sound like me and the journals I keep trying to read...I say one thing and then the phone rings...or door bell goes off...but here I am now...a little behind...but here.
Hugs and love....enjoy your weekend.

AOL been playing up with me too late last night and again today. Gates are a great idea I always had one at the top of my stairs as all my house was upstairs only the outside door was downstairs.  Watering can be such a chore sometimes other time you enjoy it. We are having showers today but not enough to wet the pots. Love Joan.

I hope Kerry gets things straightened out with the Insurance Co.     I am just getting around to journals today and have been taking advantage of the cooler weather the last several days to work on putting the loft flooring in place with the help of my carpenter neighbor.     I am too tired and sore to work on it for several days and am staying inside in A.C. and visiting journals and plan to lay on my board/cushion and catch up on reading my magazine subscriptions.    In the late afternoon when it starts cooling I will work on my yard for a couple of hours.    I should be posting an entry and photo sometime soon with the progress being shown.     Wishing you and Jim a good weekend along with Jake,   lol    mark

I do hope your daughter and her husband have good luck finding a bigger apartment.  It will be nice to have more room and for Roman to have his own room.  I also hope she is able to resolve her insurance problem soon.  It is so upsetting to have to deal with those things.  Take good care~   Kathy
