A Fishy Monday Tale

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a wet and dreary Monday evening.  I hope you`ve all had a good weekend, I know I did.  On Saturday after a busy morning doing the usual boring housework, Jim and I went to the garden centre cafe for lunch.  Usually Jim is the one in a hurry to get home for something but this time it was for me to watch the Wimbledon ladies final.  It was an excellent match if you happen to be a tennis fan, I know Joan (Joan`s Musings) is but I`ve no idea who else might be.  Afterwards I went into the garden to find that Jim had finished off weeding the main border, he`s certainly saved me a lot of work and for that I`m thankful.  We then planted the climbing rose in the spot I had prepared for it.  It`s got lots of new flower buds on it and I can`t wait for it to flower.  That evening we went to see `Pirates of the Caribbean` and I enjoyed it immensely.  Jim didn`t however and while I was laughing he was just sitting there completely unmoved!  Anyway if you saw the first film and liked it you will love this one and I thoroughly recommend it, though I must warn you it is two and a half hours long.

Have I mentioned that the printer broke recently?  Well, it did and I`m really fed-up, it`s only about 2 years old and it`s the second one we`ve had in 5 years.  It`s not as though it`s overused either...sigh.  Anyway, Jim looked online at all these different models and he found several people complained about Epsom printers not lasting long...hmmm,  I think we`ll try another make this time.  I had a look in the TV pages hoping that now the World Cup is over there might be something decent to watch this evening, but it seems to be nothing but reality TV, you know, Big Brother, something called Love Island???  and Only Fools on Horses....that`s something to do with Sports Relief I think.  It looks like I`ll give it a miss again tonight and have an early night and read my book.  I have read more than three quarters of Marley and Me and I`m really enjoying it.  It`s one of those stories that I`m not looking forward to the ending, it going to be a real tear-jerker...sob!

As you can probably tell from the graphics I`ve used, Jim went fishing today.  He tried out a lake that has opened to the public only recently and is only about a mile from here.  He had a great time pulling out 19 fish during the time he was there.  He wasn`t fishing for big specimens today but was kept really busy.  He did ask me to come along this afternoon but the weather wasn`t very warm and I didn`t fancy sitting around in the drizzle, it will have to wait for another day.

Tomorrow morning I`m going to Teddies Club with Kerry and Roman, I invited myself along as I enjoyed it so much last time, though Kerry says last week Roman didn`t want to sit on her lap and he kept crawling away from her.   That should be fun watching her chase him around the room.  In my  role as Nanna I will just sit there and watch Kerry do the hard work.  I`m just there to play games and give cuddles when needed!  Anyway,  that`s it from me today.  I hope you`ve all had a good day, take care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

Whatever you do don't get a lexmark.....they use ink like it is going out of fashion!!! Our Epsons are great, Rob has my old one....I only upgraded to a better Epson for better photo quality, and they are economical......3 in 1's are the way to go!

If I may make a printer recommendation, I have had the best luck with HP printers.  They are the most reliable and the ink cartridges aren't as expensive as some other brands.  I have found that the ink cartridges last longer with the HP, too.  The Lexmark is the worst for ink usage.  I would go thru it so fast it was maddening.  I have an HP ink jet printer/scanner/copier for my regular printing and I have an HP photo printer for my digital pictures.  It prints beautiful prints.  Most never guess I do my own printing because the pictures are so good.  Good luck in your search!   Love,  Kathy

I have an HP printer/scanner/copier and I've never had problems with it. The quality of photos is so good too. I liked Pirates Of The Caribbean too but thought it was a little too long. Both Andy and I came out with numb bums! Have fun at the Teddies Club! Jeannette xxxx

My dad LOVES to watch Wimbeldon and i was raised watching it. There are no American superstars now though which is sad. I loved Chris Evert. Glad you and Jim went to lunch and enjoy yourself tomorrow with Roman!

your graphics are outstanding!   I've had 3 printers in 7 years.  I think they just don't make them all that well.   It's frustrating, my last two gave it up just before Christmas when I was trying to address Christmas cards, so it's off to somewhere to get a new one.  Linda in WA

Glad you had such a good weekend. The tennis was really great was a bit disappointed with the mens final thought it would have been closer.  Loved Jimmy Conners commentary he was a real breath of fresh air in the box. Have fun today. Love Joan.

Hi Sandra,

I thought I would pop in and say hello. Its been really steamy here in Georgia. I had a good weekend. I really like the graphics in your journal. Anyway.....I wish I could be in your neck of the woods to go with you to that garden centre cafe I bet the food is wonderful. I can't wait to see "Pirates of the Caribbean" I know I will like it. My family has the first one on DVD. Tonight on television I watched "XXX" with Vin Diesel which is an action packed movie. My dad is the big fisherman in the family I never catch anything. I think my dad would love going with Jim fishing. Have a great week Sandra take care.
