Hello everyone,
At last I have time to make a proper entry. I`ve been a bit busy the last couple of days but I`ve made here it in the end. Poor Kerry has had an awful day today. She had an appointment to take her car for an Insurance assessment and they told her that it would most likely be written off by the company. Her car is only five years old and despite having a fully comp. insurance they SAY it will cost more to repair than the market value. The assessor told her that the suspension had gone and had probably been about to go just before the accident and that was why the company wouldn`t pay her claim. Jim was furious as he didn`t think there was anything wrong with the suspension so he asked our friend S, who is our mechanic, to check it out. He drove it and said there was nothing wrong whatsoever with it and that is was perfectly roadworthy. Jim then went back to the garage and told them that he`d had the car seen by another mechanic, this was when the assessor had a change of heart. He said he wasn`t certain it was the suspension but even so the new door panels would cost more than the market value of the car...hmm, he didn`t say THAT to Kerry! Anyway, she will have to buy another car, something she could have done without at the moment and she is not a happy bunny I can tell you, and who would blame her? What annoys me is that we pay so much for our car insurance and it somehow doesn`t seem worth it if they won`t cover someone who had an accident doing 5 miles per hour in a car park. I always thought insurance was there to keep us on the road, it seems more like the other way round!
Jim and I have been out in the garden working this afternoon. I dug up a clump of chives and planted them in a large terracotta pot. My little herb garden is now non-existant with them all in pots having outgrown the little plot outside the back door, I`ve moved them all to the bottom of the garden by Jim`s tool shed because I don`t have the room at this end anymore. I`ll miss the aroma of mint, chives and thyme, mixed with lavender that would drift into the kitchen. I`ll just have to plant something else with a nice scent, a fragrant climbing rose for instance? I`m still working on Jim with a view to him buying one for me...lol!
I`ve had Roman here since just after 3 this afternoon, he hasn`t had a sleep all day and was yawning in between smiles. Eventually he just crashed out on the floor and I had to wake him up to get him ready for bed, I`m sure if I hadn`t woken him he would have slept there all night! He has been sleeping even longer than usual since he`s been crawling, I suppose it must wear him out with all the exertion. It`s hard work being a baby....lol! I took this photo of him while he was lying there, I just couldn`t resist it. :o)
I spent a couple of hours clearing out my signature files. I got rid of the ones I don`t use anymore and I deleted them all from my FTP space, leaving lots of little red crosses at the end of my entries so I suppose I`ll just have to go back and delete them....huh, no chance, they go back over two years and somehow I don`t think I`ve got the stamina for that...lol! Tomorrow I`lll be clearing out my pictures, not just from the files but from Kodak Easyshare too, that should free up some space when I`m finished.
Today Jim has ordered us some digital phones, it has three handsets and an answerphone, something I wouldn`t be without. I hope I can work out how to use them, they do everything except make a cup of tea, mind you, for all I know they do exactly that. Gone are the days when all you do is pick up the phone and say `Hello`, Oh no, that would be too easy, this one has buttons for this and buttons for that. I wouldn`t mind betting that if I get a call, it`ll take me so long to find the `answer` button the caller will have given up...lol!
I`ll have to go now as I haven`t finished reading the journals by any means, actually I`ve read and commented on two and I`m not going to tell you how many I have left, let`s just say I`m going to be busy! I hope you`ve all had a lovely day. Enjoy your evening and Bye Bye for now. :o)

reminds me of my new little phone on my desk. I wanted a simple one but for awhile every time I answered it I clicked off the caller and had to go see who it was on my other phone and call them back..... Now it works if I just answer without pressing any buttons and when I hang up I don't press any either.... doesn't seem right but that is how it works for me. lol. Roman sure looks sweet laying there sleeping. what a hunny he is. Sandra
Hope you like your new phones sounds very swish. Never mond about your empty space in the garden next year you will now have enough room for all your seedlings. Love Joan.
Sounds like a good idea ,having your herbs in pots easier to control,Iknow what you mean about the new phone ,they are more and more complicated ,the button for making tea is next to the one that does the ironing ,isnt Roman a darling ?.........Jan xx
Sounds like you're quite the busy bee! LOL
AWWWW look at that lil sweetie, so precious he is!
Hugs, Sug
I don't blame Kerry. I would be upset also. Why do we pay our insurance if it is not going to pay off? Roman looks so sweet. You have been quite a busy lady. Hugs, helen
Have been clearing out photos from files on my computor, but still have so many left to use. Think I'll send them to FTP space and post a load of photo entries; either that or start a photo journal in another screen name (that will give me another brand new FTP space). Worth thinking about, maybe when winter comes around again and I have more time. Can't keep up with my other journals at the moment, must be old age creeping up on me. Always tired and it takes twice as long to accomplish every day tasks now. Will help when we get broadband in the village, hopefully in the next six months. Dial up is so slow, last Sunday I clocked up two hours on here, trying to get my list entered with Tesco online. Could have gone out and shopped for it more quickly myself, but don't dare risk pushing tolleys around and lifting all the items. I'll think I've died and gone to heaven, when I am able to get my long awaited, Gold broadband. Reading journals takes forever, waiting for pages to load. Uploading pictures to put in my entries is nothing short of torture, but I love my journal and journal land.
Take care my friend, give my condolences to Kerry and a hug for Roman. Sending hugs for you.
Love Sylvia

What an adorable sleeping angel. His little wrists look like he has rubber bands around them. LOL I love that!! So sorry about Kerry's car situation. We have those insurance woes here too. We feel like insurance companies run our lives and it's just so wrong. Hope your climbing rose efforts will pay off soon. I'm cheering for you! Kathy
Hi Sandra :-) Poor Kerry I really sympathise. I've had a similar thing happen and after many arguments they finally repaired my car. I'd love to have herbs in pots....one day I will for sure!! The photo of Roman is gorgeous - he's so handsome!! You've reminded me I need to tidy up my pc.....I'd go spare if I lost everything!!! And you'll be fine with the phones - if my mum, love her, can work them, anyone can!!! She is SO untechnical lol

Oh what an adorable Grandson Roman is, Just been catching up on your journal the, it looks like Kerry and Roman had a lovely time in Russia,
take care Lynne
Poor Kerry ,she could have done without that after getting back from Russia,Little Roman looks so sweet fast asleep on the floor,it marvellous they don't get stiff necks like we would. Hope you get your Rose ,have a good weekend ........Jeanx
Sorry not to have been in touch. Haven't been able to get your Scribbles to download. Success today but took ages. Insurance companies of any sort are infuriating - house contents ones too. Don't bother paying for Accidental damage cover because they can ALWAYS find some way out of it.
Sorry to hear about Kerry's car. I really dispise insurance companies! I've had some bad experiences with them too!
Roman looks like a little angel in the picture. Such a cutie pie!
Pamela
Insurance firms are there for themselves, not for the insured! My son used to sleep like that on the floor! It's all that crawling! I cleared out a lot of my photos, I had over 12,000 now I 'only' have 4,000! Hope you get a nice scented rose from Jim! Have a great weekend! Jeannette xx
Hi Sandra !!!!!!!!! I'm sorry to hear that Kerry had an awful day. I wish I was there in your neck of the woods to see your garden. My mom would love your herb garden. Roman looks like he is getting bigger and he's also cute. Roman is simply adorable. I have a lot of catching up to do on my journal reading as well. I hope that your family is good. A few minutes ago the sky opened up here in Georgia and it rained hard which is good. Hopefully this rain will cool off this heat we've been having. I would like for you to tell your family hello for me and I would like to send everybody (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) to all of you. Take care and I'll be back for another visit soon. Byyyyyyyye for now.
So sorry Kerry had a bad day concerning her car...loved the photo of Roman...babies look like little angels sleeping...and he is just so cute. Love how his leg is crossed...hope your weekend was the best...I am a bit behind...sorry.
Hugs and love,
