Hello everyone,
Welcome to a nice sunny Thursday afternoon. I was up at 6am this morning and in Tesco by 7.30. I`m really getting used to this extra early morning shopping, it makes everything so much easier, no battling my way through crowded food aisles, wending my way around with my trusty trolley as if it were a chariot race. No queueing at the till with the person in front not sure of which credit card to use...ah the joys of shopping!
While I was out I bought Kerry some milk and bread and took them to her flat where I opened the windows and gave the place an airing. While I was there I decided to give the place a vacuum, I don`t know why because it didn`t really need it. I`m so glad I did though, the vacuum cleaner didn`t seem to be picking anything up and it really smelt funny. I turned it off and unplugged it and turned it over to look at the roller, well I couldn`t believe what I saw. The whole of the roller brush was covered in Kerry`s long blonde hairs, I couldn`t even see the brush itself, she must be going bald with the amount I found there...lol! Anyway I got some scissors and sat there for 20 mins cutting and unravelling it until I`d got the lot. Then I had to unblock the hose because some of it had made it`s way up there too. I put it in a pedal bin liner and it half filled it, just wait until I tell her , she`ll never believe it. We`ve just bought a new vacuum and we gave Kerry this one because hers had gone wrong. Now I think I know what happened to it....lol!
I`ve just got back from talking to Kerry on the phone, she`s packed most of her stuff for her return home tomorrow. She say Roman has been really fussed by his Russian family and he`s bound to play up when he gets home again because they`ll just be the two of them until Slava gets home in two weeks. I suppose Jim and I will just have to make a fuss of him ourselves to make up for it! Also Slava passed his final Uni exam yesterday and hasnow completed his degree in choreography. He hopes to start a dancing class when he comes home now he is qualified to do so. I don`t know whether I told you but Kerry has taken loads of photos so I`ll be able to share some of them with you, she knows I like to use them in my journal so hopefully she took photos of the local attractions as well as the wedding.
This morning Jim put another fence panel up and while he was there he dug up a Corkscrew Hazel that I wanted rid of. When I bought it five years ago, it was a beautiful shape with it`s twisted branches and fluffy catkins. But for some reason it outgrew the twists and the catkins are long gone leaving me with this boring, green shrub that does nothing exept grow bigger each year so it had to go I`m afraid. Also for the chop was the Rosemary that I`ve had in a large earthenware pot for some years, it looked really sorry for itself so I decided enough was enough and chucked it out. Now I`ve told Jim that it would be nice to have some new plants in place of them, especially as I`ve been very patient and not complaining about his wall to wall football watching. He asked me was I attempting to blackmail him and of course I said no...as if I would, but wouldn`t it be nice for him to continue watching it in peace, I think my silence can be bought....lol!
Right my friends, I have to go now. Enjoy your afternoon and take care. Bye Bye for now. :o)

Why did the blonde get on the roof?
She heard that the drinks were on the house.
Why didn't the Blonde have any ice cubes for her party?
She lost the recipe.
What do you call a blonde skeleton in the closet?
The winner of a hide and seek game.
A blonde is outside when the dustman man comes up the drive and asks her if "any rubbish today?"
The blonde answers "We'll have three bags please."
Why shouldn't blondes be given a coffee break?
It takes too long to retrain them.

They are both extinct

I bet you can't wait for Kerry and Roman to get home! Poor old Kerry losing her hair! I know it happens sometimes when you're pregnant due to hormones. Congratulations to Slava for passing his choreography exams! Jeannette xx
I had that problem with my vac when I had long hair but not to the extent of almost burning it up though LOL. Looking forward to seeing some of Kerry's pictures. Helen
Know you are going to be over the moon having Kerry and Roman back. Well done Slava, how wonderful. It was all worthwhile. You will now be able to fuss over them and the Russian Grandparents will really miss him. Hope you get some nice new plants to replace the old ones.
Lol at Kerry's hair, glad you were able to sort the vacuum out for her. Looking forward to the photos

I bet you are counting the minutes until Kerry and Roman return! You're such a nice Mom to get her flat ready. I know she will appreciate it. I think you deserve some new plants. You have been very patient with the football watching. A few plants would be nice pay back. LOL Kathy
The same thing happened to me when I had long hair.
I wondered why nothing seemed to be taken up, turned it over and.............more hair than I thought I had. Happy to report I am not bald yet.

Hi Sandra,
That was so sweet of you to shop for Kerry, making sure she had all fresh items. Also cleaning for her...what a great Mom you are....I would give you a huge award!!! Hope they have a safe trip home and everyone's well. Hugs and love always,
Joyce
Glad Slava has finished his course.
And....did you say you "chucked out the rosemary?" Ahhhh no....
We are growing it here and love it...in bread, potatoes and pretty much anything starchy like.
It's an herb that people are really starting to enjoy more of in dishes here in the states.
Wow, it is even good in pizza dough.
Sonya
Kerry is so lucky to have you for a mom. My mom wouldn't have bought me groceries or vacuumed...let alone CLEAN my vacuum!! WOW....! Will you adopt me??!! LOL!
Can't wait to see your pictures. Have a great weekend.
Pamela
Had to chuckle about Kerry's vacuum cleaner. Same thing happened with my son's-except the problem with their was this carpet that shed worse than a dog with mange. LOL They were about to put it out to pasture until my hubby worked it over and it worked like new. LOL So good of you to fix up the place a little a lay in a little bread & milk for Kerry & Roman. I know you must be anxious to see them
Have a good weekend.
Barb
Oh i hate to vaccuum. I would crack up if i saw all her hair in it though.
love,lisa
You should be given a technicians certificate for diagnosing and repairing Kerry's vacuum cleaner. I hope she is not losing hair at anything other than the normal rate though. Thank you for sharing what Slava's occupational expertise involves. I hope to be making an entry sometime soon about what I have been involved in doing with my current house addition that is two story 24 by 24 foot roof dimensions surrounding and over my kitchen. I am so tired and sore that resting after dark is like paradise and is all I can do. I hope to get to enough journals this weekend to let everyone know that I am still around but unable to spend time on the computer. Little Roman should be a tiny bit bigger by his return from Russia. I will visit as soon as I can and make a new entry with photos of my progress. mark
The vacumm story sounds like my house! My hair is always everywhere! Drives me insane haha! its a wonder any of us girls have any to begin with hehe.
