A Glorious Saturday ~ photos too!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a glorious Saturday evening..  If you look at the above pics you will see that I`ve been out for the afternoon with Kerry and Roman.  Black Park is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll, with it`s beautiful surroundings and it`s convenient being just two miles from here. We fed the ducks though Roman wasn`t the slightest bit interested, he prefered to look at passers-by and eat some of the bread that Kerry had bought for the ducks....it was fresh!  We strolled around for a couple of hours and ended up at the ice cream kiosk where Kerry treated her old mum to a coffee cornet, it was delicious too.  Then we slowly walked back to the car and en route encounted a hornet`s nest.  We`d decided to take a short cut through the woods when I saw this enormous hornet not two feet away.  We beat a hasty retreat back to the main path where we saw a few of them buzzing round.  I was worried that Roman might have been stung by one as they look really nasty.  When we were about to drive away we heard a crash and we saw a car reverse right into a parked vehicle.  A man got out of the car and saw he`d broken his rear light, but he didn`t bother looking at the other car which was out of our view.  Kerry said she thought the man did more damage to his own car than the one he hit, serves him right I say, for not looking where he was going!

Today Jim woke up feeling much better.  In fact, I knew there was now nothing wrong with him because he was reading this morning`s paper and trying to put the world to rights.  He doesn`t do that when he`s feeling ill, so I didn`t argue when he said he was going back to work, he`ll only sit around moping if he stayed home so who am I to stand in his way...lol!  I was really busy with housework this morning, I`ve done piles of washing, taking full advantage of the great drying weather.  Now I`m saddled with loads of ironing tomorrow, unless one of you good people would like to do it for me...lol!

Kerry is almost packed and ready for her journey to Russia on Tuesday morning.  We`re getting up early and taking her to the airport at 7am.  She`s really looking forward to going but not so much the journey itself. Jim and I will stay until she goes through Customs so she will be ok up until then.  Hopefully she will be given a good seat so that Roman can sit on the floor once they`re air borne.  She is a bit worried that if they have to sit next to someone they will get annoyed with Roman, because he won`t sit still for 3 and a half hours.  I told her that they will have to accept that babies cry and fidget so not to worry about it, and he is after all, just a baby.

I`m going to go now as I haven`t read one journal today. Being as how the weather has been so nice I`ve spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden.  I hope it`s been nice where you are, Bye Bye for now and take care. :o)

I'm going to have to pass on the kind offer of being invited to do your ironing, I'd love to you understand but I have to sit here and play with my cats! Roman looks so happy and content, I'm glad you had a lovely day to enjoy the park. I'm pleased Jim's better now and able to get back to work. Hornets are nasty things, glad you got away from them! Love the photos.  I had to call my son Tommy in to see the photo of Roman (He would love to have a blond, blue eyed boy someday to go with his 2 girls!) He thought Roman is adorable.  He said Kerry was "hot" :)  and when he saw your photo he said her Mom is pretty hot too! (love your hair).  I had to share that with you.  So GLAD you didn't get stung by a hornet. I HATE all bees and wasps.  Ugh.  Do you know WHAT the movie set was in that cropping of trees? That park is fabulous.  We sure don't have all that lush green here like you do.  We have had less than 5" of rain this entire year thus far.  Glad you got a lot done today.  Hope you have some time to relax.  And glad that Jim is feeling better.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Enjoyed your pics of your walk.
I have said a prayer for Kerry in her journey so that Roman would be content and the carrying of luggage and all the bundles will be no problem and for safety.  I am excited for them.
