From Russia With Giggles!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a much cooler day here in Scribbles Land.  After the heavy downpours we had yesterday afternoon and evening, the temperature plummeted and so thank goodness, did the mugginess that had spoiled the lovely Summer weather that we`ve had for the last 10 days.  I took full advantage of the cooler temps to catch up on some housework.  I had five loads of washing that needed drying,  hmm...was it worth hanging it outside and run the risk of having to run to the line again if it rained?  Yes it was worth it because it hasn`t rained despite the heavy cloud, in fact it seems to be giving way to some sunshine at the moment.

I took Jake for an early afternoon walk, something that I haven`t done since before the hot weather began.  He really seemed to enjoy getting out at out usual time again.  I had been home about five minutes when the phone rang, it was Kerry and we had a really long chat.  She was telling me all about Roman who has amazed everyone by crawling properly now and trying to walk a lot of the time.  Apparently she has to keep an eye on him all the time because he has already broken an ornament, it was moved out of his way but he still managed to get it.  I`ve made sure that my house is child-friendly but I`ll bet Little Man will find something he shouldn`t whatever I do!  Kerry put the phone to his ear and he giggled when I spoke to him, it was lovely to hear him and I can`t wait to see him (and Kerry!) on Friday evening.

Jim has just phoned me from Guildford where he is fishing, he says he`s on his way home after a poor day when the fish just weren`t biting.  It seems a pity after driving all the way there and I didn`t expect him home until about nine this evening.  Never mind, better luck next time.  I think in a couple of weeks that it is his next sea-fishing trip with his mates.  That should make for a good journal entry with photos and all. Well, that`s it from me, I have to get some dinner started now and bring in the now dry washing.  I hope you`ve all had a really nice day, Take care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

Once babies are crawling nothings safe from them! Sorry Jim had no luck with the fishing, still it's a nice day out. It was quite chilly here today, personally I'd rather have the mugginess, at least I stay warm that way! Jeannette xx

Hi Sandra glad you had a nice long chat with Kerry ~ I know you must be missing them both ~ Sorry Jim is having a poor day with his fishing ~ hope he will do better on his Sea fishing trip ~ Glad you managed to get all that washing dry ~ we have had some rain here today ~ it is now nearly six o'clock and the sun in just coming through the cloud ~ so maybe better tomorrow ~ Glad Jake enjoyed his walk ~ I think it has been to hot for them outside over the past few days ~ I think making a safe place for crawling babies is a mission impossible ~ they always seem to get the little fingers into something they shouldn't lol ~ Ally

Glad that you were able to speak to Kerry and little Roman.  She will be home in no time.  We have had some rain here, only drizzle but thankfully I had not washing and did manage to get the border planting finished.  Poor Jim that the fish were not biting, better luck next time.  Love your just hanging out signature or was it a graphic that you put your own name on????? It must have been great to chat to your daughter and grandson all that way off.  We have not had any thunder or rain up here yet thought it was going to rain this morning but it did not so far so good as quiet often when it rains up here it forgets to go off again. Love Joan

I love your 'hanging out' graphic!  So cute!  I bet it was nice to talk to Kerry.  Makes it feel like she's closer to home when you can hear her voice.  I wonder if Roman will be walking most of the time when he gets back.  Hope your day is going well!

Sounds like you had a great day all round.  A walk, wash on the line, and phone call from Kerry & giggles from Roman. We're hot and dry.  Have a great evening.

Love the washday graphics. We haven't seen the sun at all today, hope it shines tomorrow, am taking Ron out to try and get him motivated! Not sure it will make any difference, but that's my excuse for "The Great Escape". Keep laughing. Take care.

Hi Sandra...I've been so busy this week I'm just now catching up on your journal.  Love your graphics!  So cute!  Glad to hear Kerry and Roman are well.  He's going to be a BIG handful now!!  I remember I had to crawl on my hands and knees when my son started walking and child proof my home like that.  We even got rid of the coffee table to avoid him falling into it and cracking his head on it.  So much to do for a baby, huh?
Have a good weekend...Pamela
