Hello everyone,
Welcome to a beautiful March day. Despite being freezing cold still, the sun has been shining all day. Spring is really trying to break through this cold front and hopefully it will succeed very soon. After an industrious morning cleaning the house top to bottom, everywhere smells of beeswax furniture polish. I went mad with the polishing as the furniture in the living room was looking rather jaded from all the central heating. Now it looks nice and shiny and ready for Spring and I won`t have to do it again for weeks.
After my busy morning I took Jake for a leisurely walk, and even though I knew it was really cold the bright sunshine was deceiving and I didn`t realise just how cold until I stepped outside. Jake had spent most of the morning asleep on the back lawn, he obviously doesn`t feel the cold, what with Labradors originally hailing from somewhere along the coast of Canada. I wonder how dogs manage to keep so warm? I mean, their coats ARE thick but a thick coat wouldn`t be enough for me to lie outside for hours on a bitterly cold March morning!
Danny is moving into his new flat today, Jim helped him move some stuff there yesterday and Slava is helping him with the main furniture today. Jim told me that although the new flat is really nice it needed a really good clean, his girlfriend Salina was scrubbing the floor it was so bad. Dan had left his old flat spotless for the owner when he moves back in. It should be the same for him at the new place...if it were me I would complain to the landlord about it.
I`ve got nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon so I have all the time in the world to read and comment on all the journals. I managed to read them yesterday but didn`t comment on many as I ran out of time. I`m sure the clock goes around faster when I`m online! Before I go I do hope Joan is getting the sunshine for her daughter`s wedding today. I for one am really looking forward to hearing all about it. Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely day. Take care my friends and Bye Bye for now.
The afternoon is bright,
with spring in the air,
a mild March afternoon,
with the breath of April stirring,
I am alone in the quiet patio
looking for some old untried illusion -
some shadow on the whiteness of the wall
some memory asleep
on the stone rim of the fountain,
perhaps in the air
the light swish of some trailing gown.
Antonio Machado, 1875-1939
Each leaf
Each blade of grass, vies for attention.
Even weeds carry tiny blossoms
to astonish us.
Marianne Poloskey
The sun is brilliant in the sky but its warmth does not reach my face.
The breeze stirs the trees but leaves my hair unmoved.
The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.
It is all inches away but further from me than my dreams.

I wish Danny's new home was clean for him too! That makes it more stressful when its not. Its cold here too. We all need Spring! Have a happy Saturday! Love,lj
Still cold up here too after the snow we had yesterday but as you say Spring is trying its best. Love Joan.
I love your graphics today. The first one is outstanding. I would love to be able to make beautiful things like that. Good that the sun is shining on Joan's daughter today. I am looking forward to seeing some of her pictures. Have a nice Saturday. Helen
Beautiful graphics Sandra, I must admit I have not been collecting them much lately due to taking time away. LOL, I now have a picture of you lying out in the garden on a freezing March day. Yes, I hope that the wedding goes well, going to be cold posing for the photos. Hope all goes well with Danny's move xxxxx

I think Jake has a built in thermostat that keeps him warm in the cold ~ Hope Dannys move is going well ~ the Landlord should have been responsible to make sure it was clean ~ that is too bad it was so dirty ~ enjoy your afternoons reading....Ally
Sandra, I love reading your journal and what beautiful graphics you always have... I wish I could find some with my name on them.....
Cold and rainy day here today, wishing spring would hurry and arrive...
Have a great day...

Your Saturday graphics are breathtaking !! It's cold here in Washington, too. Right now at 8:30am it's 38 degrees outside my kitchen window. The same sun is shinning brightly here, also. Too bad that Danny didn't think to have the landlord come and do a "walk through" after he realized that he flat was not very clean. The former occupant should be penalized for leaving it that way. Hope his move goes smoothly today. Linda in Washington state
Milly does not like the cold !!
Wonder what will happen on the first rainy day!
it is lovely to have bright days!
I did all my polishing today too. I don't know how dogs lay out in the cold either, it never seems to bother them, it would me!! It doesn't seem fair that Danny has to move into a dirty flat after leaving his so clean. I hope the rest of your weekend goes smoothly. Jeannette.
AS eveyone says ,lovely graphics Sandra ,I forgot to say the other day you'd supplied me with the dolphin one ,Iused, it looked good didnt it ?fancy the flat being so dirty how can folks live like it ,much less leave it for others to clear up after them ,Brr JAKE you are tough, Scooby stands at the patio door and shivers !!and whinges to come in again !............Jan xx
Overnight snow here, and a white world this morning...but a beautiful Sunny Day.
Shame about Danny and the ~ Flat not being left clean ~ I always leave a Place,as I would like to find it...
You're right about the clock and time just disappearing when online~ I'm late on tonight though~waiting for painkillers to take effect (lol)Enjoy the rest of the Weekend~
